Release Blitz: Porter by Georgia Cates

Title: Porter
A Men of Lovibond Series Standalone
Author: Georgia Cates
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: August 4, 2017

Blurb

My
employee’s daughter. The tomboy. The kid who once did odd jobs around the
brewery. That’s all she was… until three years passed and she walked into my
office for an interview.

Frankee
Dawson is no longer that girl I once called Kiddo. She’s grown into a
beautiful, sexy, desirable woman. Very desirable. And that’s a problem. She’s
my employee’s daughter. Lovibond family. And too young for me. Too innocent.

I want to
feel her respond to my kiss.
I want her
body to tremble as she anticipates my touch.
I want to
learn all the places that bring her pleasure.
But mostly
I want her to know that she’s never truly been loved by a man until me.

Frankee is
my intern and under me for the summer. Literally. It’s a difficult secret to
maintain when you can’t keep your hands off each other.

This was
supposed to be a hot summer fling. Sex and fun without commitment—that’s what
we called it. But we were wrong. This is more. I’ve never felt this way about a
woman. Never cared more about someone else’s happiness more than my own.

I love her
and I’m happy. So damn happy… until a terrible mistake from my past springs
forward and threatens to rip us apart.

There are a
million reasons for her to leave me. And trust me, she should. But all I really
need is one good reason for her to stay.

and subject to change.

Frankee and
I stayed up until three in the morning. I couldn’t keep my hands off of her.
Not when she was wearing that sexy-as-fuck lingerie.
I’ve never
seen anyone wear anything like that. Sure, I’ve watched porn and seen it on
those women, but never on a real-life woman. And never one in my bed.
Frankee is
like my very own porno princess.
I gave her six orgasms last night—one an hour.
I’ve never done that before. Not that I don’t have the ability. I’ve just never
been inclined to.
“Frankee.”
She doesn't
stir. Not even a little. I shake her shoulder this time. “Frankee. Wake up,
baby. I have to go.”
She rolls
to her back and slowly opens her eyes. “Someone fucked me into next week.
You'll have to check back with me when it comes around to see if I can wake
up.”
“You don't
have to get up, but I do have to go.”
“No. Don't
go. Staaaay.” She has no idea how badly I want to.
At some
point during the night, Frankee washed off her makeup, and I’m seeing her for
the first time without cosmetics. It’s confirmed. She’s a natural beauty and
doesn’t need that garbage on her face.
“I wish I
could stay in this bed with you all day, but I promised Stout I'd help him move
his stuff to his new house today. I was supposed to be there already, but I
couldn’t bear to leave when you looked so beautiful in my bed.”
I already
know he’s going to give me shit for being late.
“Wait a
minute… before you go.”
Frankee
dashes to the bathroom, still wearing her porno princess attire from last
night. That is one convenient getup. I hope she has more of those.
She returns
from the bathroom with her hair twisted into a topknot. I don’t know what it is
that makes that so damn sexy.
She wraps
her arms around my shoulders and lowers herself to straddle me on the bed.
“Kiss me before you go.”
Her mouth
is minty. And hungry, based on the way she devours my mouth and neck. “Is this
your plan for tempting me to stay?”
Her hands
are working to undo the button and zipper on my jeans. “No. This is.”

Review by Lisa Kane

I have come to expect the unexpected from Rachel Van Dyken’s Eagle Elite series. These books are not for the faint of heart. They are Mafia romances chock full of angst and violence and death. I always think I know the outcome and I’m almost always wrong.

Dante Nicolasi is the twin brother of Sergio Abandonato’s wife. He is being trained by our favorite good fellows to join their ranks. He suffers daily beatings to strengthen his tolerance and skill. Of course, he isn’t allowed to fight back, only to endure.

 I wasn’t sure whom I hated most.

Sergio for trying to break my spirit.

Nixon for trying to break my body with his fists.

Phoenix for trying to slit my throat with a knife.

Chase for torturing me until I wanted to do.

Mil for shooting me at point blank range and then asking me to stop my own bleeding.

Tex for tying me up and pulling me behind his car.

Or Frank, for breaking two of my fingers and then laughing.
But he knows this is his life now, these are the cards he was dealt and he has to suck it up and become a monster; the same as everyone else in the family.

El Petrov was saved from her life of hell by Frank. She was raped and beaten by the Russian mob and saved by the Sicilian mob. She’s traded one life of hell for another. She knows who Dante is but she keeps her distance, he is a simmering cauldron waiting to boil over and she doesn’t need any more drama. That’s not to say she hasn’t noticed him though.

Dante Nicolasi was easily the most beautiful and horrible person I’d ever met in my entire life.

Both are being forced to attend Eagle Elite University. The school controlled by the family.

Eagle Elite University. Owned by the Abandonatos.

Run by

No one.

That was the catch.

In the time that the family has been absent from the school, the Russian mob has made its mark. Dangerous games are being played and Dante and El are in the thick of things. But they aren’t the only ones feeling the pressure. The whole family is changing, the blood infested waters are being churned up.

“Tell me it’s not always like this.” I leaned against the wall. “Tell me you’re not constantly choking from the fear and anger, tell me it gets better.”

“It comes in waves.”

Nixon said after a long moment. “So enjoy the ride when it’s good, and hold tight to those you love when it’s bad.”

The twists and turns just keep coming with this story. I’m not going to spoil the plot…but you are pure evil Ms. Van Dyken. I kept thinking to myself, “she wouldn’t go there would she? No, even she wouldn’t do this…oh how the tears flowed!

This is Dante and El’s story, but it belongs to every member of this family. Each will be shaken to the core, each will have to find their place.

I tried to thank her for saving me.

When I never even realized I needed saving.

Excerpt:

Dante slammed his hand into the tree, his jaw popped as he gritted his teeth together and then calm washed over him as he whispered near my ear, “Want me to kill him?”

A few people walked by and stared at us, it looked like he was kissing my neck, like we were normal college students sharing a moment.

Nope. Wrong story, kiddos.

He just offered to kill someone for offending me, run along, nothing to see here.

“After,” I said. “Kill him after he stops being useful to you, to the bosses.” I couldn’t believe what was coming out of my mouth, what I was agreeing to. “Yes.”

Dante pulled back, his face broke out into a smile. “How messed up is it that I’m actually looking forward to that moment?”

I gulped. “It’s in your blood.”

“I wish it wasn’t,” he said gruffly. “I wish I didn’t crave it — dream about it — almost as much as I wish I didn’t feel guilt every day because of it.”

I sighed and put my hands on his chest, then ran them up around his neck, he didn’t move, or flinch, so maybe we were having a moment as our mouths almost touched. “The only shame in life, is not being who you were truly born to be. If that means you kill the bad guys — kill the bad, guys Dante. Just don’t lose your soul in the process.”

“And if it’s already gone?” He croaked his eyes darkening as he slowly leaned in until his forehead touched mine.

Days ago I would have been terrified that his body was this close.

Days ago, I would have shoved him away and run.

Days ago, I would have shuddered that his bloodstained hands were running up and down my skin.

But today.

Today was different.

Today I closed my eyes and drank in the wicked scent of Dante Nicolasi, the cologne mixed with soap. I inhaled.

And opened my eyes again.

Yesterday I was angry. I was afraid.

Today. Against the tree.

Pinned by Dante’s arms.

I was safe.

“I’ll help you find it,” I whispered.

“Just don’t damn yourself in the process, El.” He cupped my face with his right hand, his eyes fell to my mouth, his half-lidded seductive look could stop a girl dead in her tracks.

The wives always talked about how attractive his father was, even at an older age.

Almost like he’d aged backward.

Dante was no different.

If it was possible for a human to get more attractive by the day — he’d be the one to prove you right.

“Are you going to kiss me again?” I asked hopefully.

“No.” He pulled away.

My heart sank into my stomach.

“Because I don’t want to start something I have no intention of stopping.”

My head jerked, our eyes locked, and I saw it. The honesty.

“Told you I’d never lie to you, El.” His voice had a warning edge to it, like I shouldn’t push him, push whatever invisible boundaries he’d mentally set up between us. His eyes never left mine.

And I knew, this was what he looked like when he was telling the truth.

His eyes pierced through my defenses in an unapologetic search for my heart, my soul.

And I let them.

“We should get to class.” I finally found my voice and started walking, he fell into step beside me.

And I spent the rest of the day thinking about the non-kiss.

And the promise that came with it.

Blog Tour: Unfinished Business by Carina Adams

Title: Unfinished Business
Series: Bastards of Boston Novel
Author: Carina Adams
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: July 26, 2017

“Passionate, gritty, and emotionally gripping! Carina Adams returns to her writing roots and delivers one hell a phenomenal story!” - Read and Share Book Review
“I'm not sure what I was expecting going in to this books. But it surely wasn't this beautiful masterpiece!” - Linda from Goodreads
“I was completely and utterly blown away by this book.” - Melissa from Goodreads

The Bastards of Boston live in a world most don't understand. They follow their own rules, only accountable to each other, the innocents they protect, and the people they couldn't save.

As president of the Bastards MC, Robert Doyle is the man behind it all. It’s his responsibility to keep his club safe, to be the smartest man in the room, and be ten steps ahead of everyone. He’d give everything he had, and sell his soul to the devil, to protect the ones he loves.

Until Rocker comes face-to-face with the pain he thought he’d buried. Old wounds are ripped open. Revenge consumes him. Once again he’s the teenager desperate to avenge his daughter’s murder and nothing else matters.

He calls me his angel, but the halo I wear caught fire a long time ago. There is no line I won’t cross, no law I won’t break. I’ll do whatever it takes to save him. If the road to hell is paved with good intentions, I’ll happily burn.

When past and present collide, we’re in for one hell of a bumpy ride.

5 Stars
Review by Jen Skewes

The first book that I read by Ms. Adams was Always Been Mine, which will always be one of my favorites.  That was 4 years ago.  Then a year later I read Honey Whiskey, which is the follow up to ABM.  After reading these two books and meeting Rocker I waited patiently for his story.  As you can see I have waited 3 years for this book, every once in a while bugging Ms. Adams for a releases date.  I wanted Rocker and Cris’ story because they were two characters that I loved.  So when I finally found out that it was releasing, I could not even begin to explain how excited I was.  Let me just say that the wait was totally worth it.  Ms. Adams nailed this one.  It was everything I could have hoped for and more.  It had all the feels and from the moment I started I could not put it down.

Rocker and Cris have a lot of history together.  They have known each other since they were young teenagers, with Rocker being her brother’s best friend.  But they never seemed to get along.  They each claimed to hate the other but we see over time how that hate is so much more.  We see the both of them discover that their feelings for each are anything but hate.

The majority of this book takes place fifteen years ago, which I loved.  We get to see how Rocker got to the place he is today.  We see how he became the man that we saw in the ABM and HW.  But more importantly we see how his relationship with Cris evolves over the years.  They had a rocky relationship where there were many arguments, but there were also moments that will make you laugh.  The banter between them always made me smile.  And the moment when they both realize their feelings, the moment when they are first intimate is a moment I will never forget.  It is one that I felt inside.  At that moment you felt every bit of love and passion that these two had for each other.  It was so beautiful to see.

Rocker is the guy that you love but at times want to throat punch. He is 100% alpha male who at times can act like a real jerk.  But regardless I loved him.  He had a heart, and despite the way he sometimes acted towards Cris you felt the love and knew it was because he cared.

Cris is the heroine that I loved.  She is strong and independent but I think in a way a little naïve especially when it comes to Rocker’s world.  But she was young and I understood that part.  But it is also what I loved about her.

I loved that we got to see a lot of the other characters in this book especially Matty who I love.  He has a very close relationship with his sister and I loved seeing it in this book.  And of course the other members of the Bastards MC, Tank, Tiny, Dean.  I loved them all.  These characters and this series is one that I can talk about for days.  Ms. Adams once again proved why she is an amazing writing and why I love reading her stories.  I felt it all with this one.  There is some drama and angst, times that will make you want to cry and moments where your heart will melt.  I felt every emotion right along with Rocker and Cris, the anger and frustration to the love and passion.  I cannot wait for the next one.

Just a side note, Unfinished Business is a spin off of the MC Bastards series.  You don’t have to read the first two books but I highly recommend that you do.  It will give you a better understanding of the characters.

None of which are anything like boring Prince Charming.

Review: Alex in Wonderland by Max Monroe

I’m Matt Hadder.
I’ve been called ruthless, savage—even brutal—by the men and women who work for me. And I’ve earned my reputation.

Wonderland Inc., a party planning organization for every major player in the world, is Oz, and I’m its Wizard. I can make anything—drugs, prostitutes, deals—appear for a night and disappear just as quickly.

This doesn’t make me good or bad—it makes me essential.

Wonderland Inc. was my life, until a beautiful contradiction of innocence and impurity, obedience and rebelliousness named Alex Little stepped in and turned both of our worlds upside down.

Welcome to Wonderland, Alex.
A place where everything appears normal.
But we’re all mad.

4Stars
Review by Lisa Kane

Wealth. Extravagance.
Sophistication.
Drugs. Alcohol. Pleasure.
Dirty deeds. Owed favors. Greed.
Good deeds Charities. Contribution.

Alex in Wonderland is a unique take on the fairy tale Alice in Wonderland. While I'm used to laugh out loud reads from this duo, I have to say this dark read was a welcome change!

Matt Hadder had an upbringing few ever experience. After the death of his parents, John Hadder raised him. He was the owner of Wonderland. An event planning company on the outside, but one that specialized in money laudering and anything else people in need desired. Matt made a successful company into a billion dollar organziation. He trusts few and allows only those few into his circle.

All I knew was that John Hadder had taken me under his wing. He'd raised me. Loved me. Given me a generous start in life. I owed him nothing but my gratitude.

Alex Little is down on her luck. She needs money to pay the rent on her hole in the wall apartment. Dressing up as a rabbit for a kid's birthday party might be humiliating but it pays $500 for the gig. After enduring kicked shins by the little terrors, she enjoys a smoke break (ok, maybe she stole the smokes from one of the guys there, but a forbidden smoke is the best!) when her quiet is interrupted by a gorgeous stranger.

But with a scar that ran through one eyebrow and a jaw so severe it alarmed me, he seemed equally sinister.

Matt thinks Alex might have overheard some information that was never intended for public ears. Alex is intrigued, Matt is more than interested.

Then, I was in LA.
Falling down
down
down
down the rabbit hold into Wonderland.

Alex needs a job, Matt needs to keep Alex close in case you did hear something. But things change-can two people so different have a relationship?

Look for characters who will send chills up your spines. Evil truly lurks in this story, as well as passion and redemption. There's funny dialogue but for the most part, this is a serious Mafia like read about two broken souls finding that other piece of themselves they never knew they were missing.

Sometimes, life handed you gold or it handed you shit, but no matter what, it always moved on.
