Blog tour: Savor You by Emily Snow
Synopsis
Kylie Wolfe and guitarist Wyatt McRae have been bad for each other for the last several years, but it’s
impossible for them to end their toxic push and pull. Not when their attraction is constantly fueled by
lust and proximity—she’s her older brother’s Lucas’s assistant and Wyatt is his best friend and band
mate.
So when Your Toxic Sequel makes a move to record a new album in Nashville, Kylie decides to make the
latest break with Wyatt official by getting the hell out of town. She’ll spend a week in New Orleans. A
week to immerse herself in the Mardi Gras scene. One week to not think about the last time she was in
New Orleans, seven years ago with Wyatt. Seven days where she won’t have to see Wyatt every day just
to fall ridiculously in love with him all over again—where, if she wants to, she can have a normal, no strings
attached fling that won’t end in heartbreak.
Too bad Wyatt ruins everything by showing up, as gorgeous and demanding and goddamn awful for her
as ever.
Wyatt refuses to let Kylie give up on him. Not without reminding her why they both fell so far and hard
in the first place. Not without making her savor the good memories and what could be their last chance
with each other.
Note: This is a spinoff from the Devoured series.
4 Star review
Emily Snow has written a novella for Kylie and Wyatt from the Devoured series. Kylie is Lucas Wolfe’s sister and Wyatt is his bass guitarist from Your Toxic Sequel. For the past 8 years they have been together, broken up, gotten together. Lather, rinse, repeat. Kylie is partial to tattoos, loves the ink. For each heartache suffered at Wyatt’s hand, she gets a black bird tattoo. She has 18 of them, 17 too many. Over the years they have gotten progressively harsher with each break up and the hurt lingers longer.
Early on Kyle married an asshat named Brad and still has his last name (the one she no longer uses) tattooed on her ring finger. Every time Wyatt sees it, it pushes his “goes crazy” button. He demands she get it removed, she keeps it-maybe out of spite?
“No more blackbird tattoos. Fu*k get a bluebird or something, because we’re going to try again and we’ll get it right.”
After their last hook up at Thanksgiving, Kylie, for some unknown reason, has ignored Wyatt. She decides to take an impromptu vacation. Sienna, Lucas’ new assistant. (don’t you just love cross over characters?) can hold down the fort. She travels to New Orleans with her best friend Heidi (who works as a phone sex operator and is a real pistol). Guess who follows her there? He is determined to find out if Kylie is going to stick to her vow that they are over. Cal from the band is also there and the banter between Cal and Heidi is insanely wrought with innuendos and eye ball sex.
“Guess you’ll be pulling a double shift on the phone -f*ck line huh?” Heidi takes her card from the clerk’s outstretched hand, ignoring the look of mortification on the poor man’s face, and gives Cal a tight smile. “You’ve got my number asshole. Just make sure there’s enough money on your credit card.”
Heidi likes one night stands and isn’t always the best judge of character. Her latest hook up their first night in New Orleans results in the girls’ hotel room being ransacked and Kylie’s credit card and ID are stolen. She can’t get on a plane without her ID and she is broke until she sorts this mess out. She and Wyatt have been “reconnecting” and she tells him once she is back home in California, they are done for good. She can’t take the back and forth. She agrees to accompany he and Cal as they play a few gigs on their way back home. He is determined she will see that they can fix what is broken.
“I’ve done exactly what I told you I’d do. I came here with you. I let you remind me of our past, the good and the bad. But Wyatt, I just can’t anymore.”
I really enjoyed this novella. I almost wish it was a full blown novel of its own. I love the secondary characters and hope their stories will be explored more. There were some hints as to why they broke up several times, but I still had some unanswered questions. Kylie is so broken she has a history of physically hurting herself. Wyatt can not be sweeter or more bad ass. These two bob and weave through the minefield of their lives. Here’s hoping they have their happily ever after.
