AP new - synopsis.jpg

At a boxing gym in Chicago, Mary Monahan accidentally knocks out the most handsome man she’s ever met. After she wakes him up with a few slaps and some smelling salts, the very first thing he does is ask her out for ribs and beer. His name is Jimmy. He looks like a Gillette model. And he’s just too hunky to resist.

Jimmy “The Falcon” Falconi is mystified that Mary has absolutely no idea who he is. Mystified and refreshed. He is, after all, not your everyday NFL quarterback. He shops at Costco, has a soft spot for Pinterest, and is in the midst of an epic losing streak.

Jimmy falls for Mary fast and hard, the way he does everything—balls out and like it’s fourth and long. And he realizes he’s finally met his match. That stamina he’s so proud of? Doesn’t stand a chance against her Kegels.

But what they don’t know is she’s also his new physical therapist, recently hired by the Bears to work on his rotator cuff…and groin injury. If she can’t help him, he’ll be traded faster than they can say “offensive penetration.”

In spite of the thousands of internet memes featuring Jimmy’s face with captions like: “HEY GIRL, WANT TO TOUCH MY BALLS?” Mary finds herself falling for him and his unrelenting desire to make her his.

Until a toddler shows up at Jimmy’s door.

And throws their lives into total chaos.

Release Blitz and Review: Say You Want Me by Corinne Michaels

sywm_anad

There’s no way I’ll fall for Wyatt Hennington.

He can keep his Southern drawl, irresistible smile, and those pick-up lines all to himself. I made the mistake of sleeping with him not once, but twice. I’m not stupid enough to give him round three, especially after he left me in the middle of the night so I could see myself out. I vow to return to Philadelphia and forget him.

It proves easier said than done.

When the doctor informs me I’m the winner of door prize number two, I put my life on hold and head back to Bell Buckle. Three months and if we can’t make this work, I’m gone.

The problem is—when the cards are stacked against us, and I can’t bring myself to leave him, I’ll finally know if he truly loves me or if all my fears were real . . .

Angie Benson is Presley Townsend Benson's sister in law from Say You'll Stay. Her brother was Todd, Presley's late husband. We met her in Say You'll Stay when she came to Bell Buckle to spend time with Presley and the kids and to get to know Zach Hennington, Presley's fiance. Zach's brother Wyatt and she hit it off and have some steamy memories from that trip.

"I'm sorry to hear that you're goin' through this."

Angie is back in Bell Buckle to spend time with her family. She hasn't seen Wyatt since he left her at the crack of dawn after their night together.  This leads to one awkward conversation. Now what will happen? Angie commits to spending three months in this town and then she will see what the future brings.

Is Wyatt still hung up on Presley? If Angie hadn't come back, would Wyatt ever have contacted her?

"I don't know what I would feel. I liked you a long time ago, but we had separate lives, Ang."

Sometimes people are stubborn and set in their ways. Maybe these two may not have found their way to each other, but fate has other things in store for them.

The truth is...I like him. He's a good guy. Which is a bad thing for me.

Good things and heartbreaking things. How strong is the foundation they are building? Is it strong enough to withstand the earthquake that is going to shake their very souls? Unconventional beginnings can often lead to sweet endings with couples, even if  their happily ever after isn't obvious to them at the time.

"Because I like you. You're not like the other girls I've been with. You're smart, funny and you know you're beautiful."

There is another story coming our way. The third Hennington brother, Trent has been giving Presley's friend Grace a hard time for years. He plays with her heart and then always walks away.

Trent and Grace dated for a while, but he's an ass. Trent won't commit to her, so he strings her along and then breaks thing off once he's had his fill. Presley has done her best to get Grace to let him go, but her heart is always with him.

But now Cooper, Presley's brother is throwing his hat in the ring. I think it's about time Trent is the one to feel insecure. He's either got to step up to the plate or lose the girl. Now that one sounds like an angst fest-sign me up!

"Fight for what we could've been."

He's won the hearts of millions. But is he willing to lose his?

Review by Lisa Kane

Matthew Hamilton is smart, rich, gorgeous, single and running for president. His late father, Lawrence Hamilton, served 7 of 8 years of his presidency before being assassinated. His murder was never solved. Does this character sound familiar? It is his life's mission to continue his father's legacy and to serve the people. He has two fierce opponents.

"If I don't run, Dad's death will have been for nothing." "No, it could never be for nothing, his mother says passionately. heading over to him.

Charlotte Wells has been surrounded by politics all her life. Senator Wells is her father and he was a friend of President Hamilton's. She and Matt met years before, when she was a young girl.

We met eleven years ago, almost twelve now. In the years in between, it feels like he never left me or my mind. And I wonder if I was ever in his.

She is passionate about Matt winning the nomination for president. They share a love for politics and integrity. Charlotte's work on his campaign opens up a Pandora's box for them. Both have found their other half in each other, but there are so many reasons that they can't be together.

I don't know how I'm going to do it.
How it will be possible to fall out of love with him.

As things heat up for Charlotte and Matt, things become more apparent. Matt's mother, as First Lady, was the wife of the President but sacrificed her marriage in the process. Politicians lives are pulled in so many directions that it's almost impossible to maintain a real relationship. Matt can't allow for distractions from his goals. And Charlotte is a huge distraction.

She grounds me.
She obsesses me.
She fuels me.
This woman not only makes me want to be a great man, she makes me want to be the best goddamn president that ever lived.

But this thing between them must have an expiration date. If Matt wins the nomination things must end between them. If he loses, he will just run again. How can anything but heartache come from this? Charlotte may have thought about giving up her dreams for Matt's but he would never let her do that.

"Maybe I don't mind taking a backseat to the President..." I trail off, suddenly realizing what's coming out of my mouth.
"That's not happening. Ever." His eyes flash, and I'm taken aback by the steely determination in his words and voice.

The tension in Mr. President is palpable. As the election draws closer, my stomach was getting more and more knotted. Will Matt realize what is in front of his face? Where
will the results of the election leave Charlotte?

Both my mother and I lost my father the day he became President. I don't want Charlotte to lose me.

Will Matt win the election but lose the woman he loves?

Review: Sunshine and Rain by M Mabie

Welcome to Wynne, population 3402.

No rockstars. No major politicians. No media moguls.

Things don’t change quickly in a small town, except when they do. It’s been pouring rain all summer long, and the disc jockey and local farmer are all of the sudden attached at the hip. It’s not only the rising river getting deeper and deeper.
This is your basic water tower painting, tractor driving, tailgate cooler packing kind a guy chases the single, blonde, radio vixen with mosquito bite rage from his youth type of romance. Or is it the other way around?
Low on drama. High on Love.
Grab an umbrella because it’s a long wet summer.

4 Stars!

Sunny Wilbanks is 28, works at her family's radio station and is restless. She's had her share of dating most of the eligible guys in Wynn, the small town she lives in, but she just hasn't found that "connection". According to her mom, she is knocking the hell out of a thirty-year-old door. She just might be feeling a wee bit of pressure herself. Is she too picky like her mom says?

By chance while she's picking up a case of beer a hot assed guy catches her attention. But when he turns around, Sunny is just about knocked over to see said ass belongs to Rhett Caraway. The last time she saw him, he was in the seventh grade and she was a senior in high school. He had the biggest crush on her. After he was caught painting his love for her on Wynn's water tower, she was forced to let him down softly.

"Rhett Caraway, you have to stop this. I'm about to go off to college, and you're not even in high school yet. I think you're sweet-I really do-but you need to get over this crush."

Well obviously Rhett has grown up! He's hot, 23 and back taking care of his family's 6000-acre farm. Always a lover of running, it helped by earning him a scholarship through college.

Years of conditioning and strength training had transformed me. Yeah, I'd been a farm kid, so I'd always been strong, but I was in the best shape of my life and I knew I'd changed a lot since the last time she saw me.

That same running turned me into a high school champion runner, then a collegiate track career that paid for damn near all of my education.

He's no longer that gawky kid chasing after a girl. These days they do the chasing. He's more than aware that the whole town knew of his embarrassing crush on Sunny. He's not going there. Been there. Done that. But he is definitely feeling the lack of female companionship being back in Wynn.

The only thing not getting wet in Wynne was my dick.

But this time around it's Sunny who is trying to get Rhett's attention. Even though part of her still thinks of Rhett as a seventh grader. But then she takes one look at his biceps and that thought gets chased out of her head. Is the five-year difference too much-does this make Sunny a wannabe cougar?

An image of him shirtless, mowing my yard, came to mind. I chalked it up to early onset panther syndrome and bent over at the hip to catch a breath that rushed through me, the image of him having left me winded.

Sunshine or Rain is a sweet, small town romance. It's funny and warm and perfect reading for a cold, Fall night. So grab a cup of tea, put on those fuzzy socks, get comfy and enjoy!

Sunny loves Rhett.

The Resistance (Book One)

Blurb
My world was rock solid.
Until I saw her.
Lara Kessler showed up as if heaven sent her to me, and suddenly my priorities changed. Love is funny like that. One minute you’re living the dream, then BAM! Half my soul shows up backstage wearing a purple shirt and sexy skin-tight jeans, making me realize what I’ve been missing all along. Loving her means exposing a life I’ve tried to bury.
My heart had lost its beat.
Until I saw him.
Kaz Fabian caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on him. Love is funny like that. The famous guitarist was every woman’s fantasy—great face, chiseled jaw, cut biceps. The rock star was pure sex on and off stage, but his charm and charisma won me over. Loving him means burdening him with a life I’ve tried to leave behind.
With her future dim and his past in the spotlight, can they overcome their fate or will they just be another tragic love story?

Review by Jen Skewes

I loved this book.  This has become a favorite series of mine and I could not wait for Kaz’s story.  He is so sexy, so sweet and completely swoon worthy.  And he may just be my favorite member of The Resistance.

Lara and Kaz met about a year ago through a mutual friend.  When first meeting her, Kaz knew there was something special about her and in the past year he has been thinking about her.  They have seen each throughout the year but nothing more then just friends or maybe even acquaintances.  But after seeing her again at one of his concerts with Rochelle he knows that he wants her and not just in a physical way.  But there is one issue and that is Lara currently has a boyfriend, who is a big baseball star.

Lara’s relationship with Mark is one that she has been questioning lately and not sure it is really going anywhere.  She breaks it off with Mark and then finds herself in Kaz’s bed not too long after.  Kaz and Lara have this connection, like they were meant to find there way to each other.  There is this ease and comfort that she feels when she is with him.  There is just one thing getting in their way, a boyfriend who has yet to understand that they are broken up and one who is not giving up.  Unfortunately this part of Lara’s life is a very difficult one and one that is not going to go away very easily.  But Kaz wants to be there for her every step of the way, he wants to love her and protect her.  But with Lara’s past relationship getting in the way and the surprise twists that come their way, do these two have a shot at happiness together.

I loved Kaz.  He is in no way your stereo-typical rock star.  He doesn’t have girls keeping him company every night.  He is genuinely a really good guy who is in love with this girl and wants to be able to love her in the way that she deserves.  He is sexy and sweet and so swoon worthy that you will fall in love with him.

Lara was the perfect match for Kaz but at times there were moments where I may have become a little frustrated with her.  But at the same time I understood her.  She was strong at times but she also had a really big heart and maybe at times that was her problem when it came to certain issues in her life.  But overall I really loved her and I loved watching her and Kaz fall hopelessly in love with each other.

This book was a roller coaster ride filled with so many emotions, twists and tuns that I did not see coming.  Kaz has a past one that I was very surprised to read about.  This book is not just about Lara’s past relationship and the baggage that she comes with.  This is also about Kaz’s past and finally having to deal with something that he tried to put behind him 10 years ago.  I loved the friendships in this book, between Kaz and his band mates to Lara and the girls.  They are all one big family and you can see that.  You see just how much they all mean to each other and love each other.  This book made me laugh, smile, and at times sad and angry.  But that is what reading is all about, being able to feel it all with the characters you fall in love with.  And once again SL Scott made me feel.  Loved this one and hoping to see Derrick get his story very soon.

New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and willing her days away lost in a good book and the movies.

With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the world those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.

Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She's obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she's a pro.
