Blog Tour: Stroked by Meghan Quinn

STROKED by Meghan Quinn
Scheduled to release: July 20, 2016
NA Romantic Comedy

BLURB:

Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

3.5 stars
Review by Jen Skewes

Reese has been a swimmer his whole life.  This year is his last chance at bringing home the gold.  He is an Olympic swimmer whose nickname is Silver Stroked.  He seems to choke in the end and has yet to win the gold medal.  But this is his year.  To boost his popularity and get him ready for the games his PR team decides it is best for him to pretend to be involved with TV’s hottest reality star, Bellini Chambers.  This girl is a complete nightmare to be around.  She is  spoiled bitch who things people should cater to her every whim.  But Reese has no choice but to go along with it all.

Paisley is a smart girl who has a degree in film production.  She has worked as a sound tech on a popular morning show until she messed up and lost her job, making it very difficult for her to get another one in the dame field.  Her friend Jonathan gets her another job in hopes that one day she can get her career back on track.   But this new job is the assistant to one of the most vile reality stars out there.  Yes she is now Bellini and Reese’ new assistant.

The minute that Reese and Paisley meet there is an undeniable attraction between them.  But Reese is in a fake relationship with one Belinni and one slip up can ruin it all for him.  For Paisley, as much as she hates this job she needs it in order to save her career.  But neither one of them can deny the chemistry and feelings that they start to have.  But is being together, even if it means sneaking around worth the risk

Stroked is a light read that is quirky, witty and sexy.  Overall I enjoyed this book but at times it was a bit over the top for me.  The few chapters that were in Bellini’s POV, for me just seemed to be a bit too much.  For me she was probably one of the most disliked characters in a book.  She was just a mean bitch who thought she was entitled to it all, not caring who she hurts along the way.  It was all about her and for those who didn’t fit in her world (which weren’t really many) she treated like gum on her shoe.  She had no redeeming qualities at all and for that reason it just made it hard to get through her point of view.  It felt too over the top for me.  I also wanted a little more depth where Paisley and Reese’s characters were concerned.

The writing was great.  I mean anyone who can make me hate a character asmuch as Belinni knows how to write.  If you are looking for a fun, laugh out loud witty book then this one is for you.

Expected Release Date: July 19, 2016
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:
Dimitri Tasarov has never had a choice in what he was. From infancy, he had been raised with the knowledge that he was a monster, an unlovable creature without a soul, until a single act of kindness threw his entire world into a tailspin.

Ava Emerson had always led a reluctantly sheltered existence. Friendship was a luxury that came with questions she couldn’t afford to answer.

They were an unlikely pair. He lived behind his mask and his roses, and she lived behind her secrets, yet they shared a bond that could get them killed if anyone ever found out.

Times were changing. The city was in turmoil. The weak were unprotected and someone needed to make a stand. But Dimitri wasn’t the only one with eyes on the north, or Ava, and they will stop at nothing to claim them both.

Can Dimitri keep Ava safe, or will the devil fall?

The Devil’s Beauty

“Because to love someone, really love someone, you need to have faith in them, even when they do stupid things.”

Ava Emerson is the step daughter of John Paul Morel, a powerful and rich man. Although she can’t stand her mother, Charlotte, Ave adores him and she is the light of his life. Charlotte is cold and calculating and Ava wonders why John Paul married her, yet alone is still married to her.

For the first half of her life, Ava was introduced to people as Charlotte's niece, or a friend's daughter. Ava had been given strict directions never to use the dreaded M word in public.
"I'm not old enough for that," Charlotte would say.

But Ava is bored and is jaded about life and love. She once had love or so she thought, but he left her without a backward glance. At a birthday party her mother threw for her (and then spent the night criticizing everything Ava did) Dimitri Tasarov makes an uninvited appearance. To others he may appear normal but to Ava’s trained eye, she knows he is hurt. Turns out he has been shot and Ava enlists her best friend Robby to patch him up. Robby is a med student and not reporting a gunshot wound can ruin his career. But he would do anything for Ava and he does the best he can do. John Paul tells Dimitri he must leave. Ava is heartsick over this (maybe we have discovered who her first love was?) but John Paul will not risk her life because Dimitri lives a secretive life.

“I told him he was putting you in danger. I told him a lot of things. Most of it I can’t remember now.”

Dimitri is back in Ava’s life but there is danger everywhere. The Devil’s Beauty has some heavy issues to deal with-human trafficking, the syndicate, torture and abuse. There are so many secrets that each character hides and when they all come out towards the end-there are twists I didn’t see coming.

I have loved Dimitri Tasarov in some shape or form my entire life,” she murmured. “Since I was ten years old, he’s been my best friend. I don’t know what my life would have been like without him. I don’t want to know.”

Why does John Paul have such animosity for Dimitri? Who is behind the robberies that are plaguing the rich and elite of the town? Why are John Paul and Ava so connected? How far is Robby willing to go to help his friend?

“I can’t give you the better man you deserve.”
She shook her head. “I don’t want a better man. I want you, all of you, the monster, the devil, the man, the lover, the friends. I want all the ugly broken, scared pieces of you, Dimitri, because they fit with mine.”

Robby broke the silence that followed. “What just happened?”
The buzz had regained through the room. Curiosity punctuated with questions and glances at Ava that she ignored.
“I need to go,” she whispered to no one in particular.
But she grabbed Robby’s hand and dragged him along with her through the maze of rooms, down the seemingly endless corridors. Her heels clacked in sync with the tempo of her pounding heart. It was his turn to run to keep up.
“Ava, what—?”
“Don’t ask questions,” she warned him. “Promise me.”
Robby frowned. “But what—?”
She skidded to a halt and faced him, her chest rising and falling rapidly against the front of her dress. “I’m about to trust you with the most important thing in my life, the biggest secret I have ever kept, and I am trusting you because you are my best friend and I need your help.”
The crease between his brows deepened. More lines appeared at the corners of his mouth. His gaze shot past her to the hallway leading to John Paul’s office, then back down to her.
“Tell me who that was first.”
His hand slipped from her grasp. She took a step back and his eyes narrowed.
“I can’t. I can’t tell you anything.”
“But you want me to trust you.” It wasn’t a question.
Ava nodded. “Yes.”

Salvatore-FB-AD

"Salvatore is a delicious dark mafia feast full of sexy, page-turning goodness!" -NYT Bestselling Author, Annika Martin
Lucia
It all started with a contract signed by him, then by me, while our families watched. While my father sat silent, a man defeated, giving his daughter to the Benedetti monsters.

I obeyed. I played my part. I signed my name and gave away my life. I became their living, breathing trophy, a constant symbol of their power over us.

That was five years ago.

Then came the time for him to claim me. For Salvatore Benedetti to own me.

I had vowed vengeance. I had learned hate. And yet, nothing could have prepared me for the man who now ruled my life.

I expected a monster, one I would destroy. But nothing is ever black or white. No one is either good or evil. For all his darkness, I saw his light. For all his evil, I saw his good. As much as he made me hate him, a passion hotter than the fires of hell burned inside me.

I was his, and he was mine.

My very own monster.

Salvatore

I owned the DeMarco Mafia Princess. She belonged to me now. We had won, and they had lost. And what better way to teach a lesson than to take from them that which is most precious? Most beloved?

I was the boy who would be king. Next in line to rule the Benedetti Family. Lucia DeMarco was the spoils of war. Mine to do with as I pleased.

It was my duty to break her. To make her life a living hell. My soul was dark, I was hell bound. And there was no way out, not for either of us. Because the Benedetti family never lost, and in our wake, we left destruction. It’s how it had always been. How I believed it would always be.

Until Lucia.

Author’s Note: Salvatore and Lucia’s story is a steamy standalone romance with a happily-ever-after. No cliffhanger and no cheating. It is intended for mature readers.

Salvatore-eBook4 stars
Review by Jen Skewes

This book had my emotions all over the place, throughout the entire book.  The prologue completely captured me and from that moment I could not put this book down.  This was a very intriguing story and one that I really had no idea how it would go.  After reading the blurb and then the prologue I was so scared of what would happen next.  This is the story about two mafia families at war and the only way to end this war is for Salvatore Benedetti to own Lucia Demarco.

At the age of 16 Lucia Demarco has signed her life away and agreed to become Salvatore’s possession once she turns 21.  This is the result of the feud between her father and the Benedetti’s.  When there is a war between two mafia families there is only one winner.  And unfortunately for Lucia it was not her.  She was sent way to boarding school until she turned 21.  Five years after signing the contract she is to be handed over to Salvatore and become his in every way possible.  She hates the Benedetti family and even though she has no choice she will fight every step of the way.  Salvatore has one rule and one thing he wants from her.  And that is obedience.  But Lucia is one tough cookie and while she sees him as nothing more than a monster she has trouble giving him what he wants.  Will her disobedience kill her?  Is Salvatore really the monster that she believes him to be?  Is he going to destroy her or save her?  There were so many questions that were running through my head.  All of which were answered but you need to read this book for yourself to find out what happens.

I love Lucia.  She is a very strong woman and despite the fact that she feared Salvatore and how much him and his family could truly destroy her she still fought and stuck up for herself.   At times she hated Salvatore and then at times she wanted so bad to hate him but just couldn’t help the way her body felt when she was around him.  She couldn’t strop the feelings that she suddenly felt for him.

Salvatore was a character that I wanted to hate and really thought that I would but I just couldn’t do it.  I loved him because I saw who this man really was.  He was not the monster that everyone thought or expected him to be.  He grew up in this world and he was to take over for his father, therefore expected to act in a certain way.  But that was not who he was.  He was not his father.  He played the roll well and at times I wanted so bad to hate him for the way he treated Lucia, but then you would see his vulnerable side.  The side that wanted nothing to do with owning a woman and becoming the man his father wanted him to be.  You saw two sides to Salvatore and they both worked so well.  It made me feel for him and at the same time fall for him.

This book had my emotions all over the place.  There were surprises along the way that shocked me.  There were moments where I was afraid to turn the page for fear of what would happen.  There was the perfect amount of drama, angst and even a bit of suspense.  Lucia and Salvatore were so good together.  I think they needed each other and saw each other in ways that others didn’t.  I was rooting for them the whole time.  I wanted them to fall in love and prayed that Salvatore would stick up for what he truly wanted.  Another great job by Natasha Knight.  I cannot wait for the next one which I am hoping is Dominic’s book because I really need to see what happens with him.

KOW-CRBanner.jpg

Social Butterfly PR is proud to present the Cover for King of Wall Street by Louise Bay

KingofWallStreet.v15.Ebook.jpg

Synopsis:

AN AMBITIOUS BOMBSHELL IS ABOUT TO BRING THE KING OF WALL STREET TO HIS KNEES.

I keep my two worlds separate.

At work, I’m King of Wall Street. The heaviest hitters in Manhattan come to me to make money. They do whatever I say because I’m always right. I’m shrewd. Exacting. Some say ruthless.

At home, I’m a single dad trying to keep his fourteen year old daughter a kid for as long as possible. If my daughter does what I say, somewhere there’s a snowball surviving in hell. And nothing I say is ever right.

When Harper Jayne starts as a junior researcher at my firm, the barriers between my worlds begin to dissolve. She’s the most infuriating woman I’ve ever worked with.

I don’t like the way she bends over the photocopier—it makes my mouth water.

I hate the way she’s so eager to do a good job—it makes my dick twitch.

And I can’t stand the way she wears her hair up exposing her long neck. It makes me want to strip her naked, bend her over my desk and trail my tongue all over her body.

If my two worlds are going to collide, Harper Jayne will have to learn that I don't just rule the boardroom. I’m in charge of the bedroom, too.

Review: Ignite by Rebecca Yarros

In Legacy, Colorado, I buried my father alongside his elite Hotshot team.
Ten years later, I’ve followed in his footsteps—fighting fires in the mountains of Alaska with my brother.
Amid the flames, nothing ignites me like Avery Claire.
She’s stubborn, strong, sexy as hell, and my best friend.
She also has no idea that I’m in love with her.
But Colorado is calling me home, needing every Legacy-born firefighter to successfully rebuild our fathers’ team.
One night will change everything between us,
But she’s tied to Alaska and my future is in Colorado.
Now I’m torn between what my honor demands,
And what my heart can’t live without.

4 Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane

River Maldonado is a fire fighter in Alaska. Working along side his brother Bishop, they are carrying on their father's legacy. He lost his life ten years ago, along with his entire crew fighting a fire and the two brothers are determined to live up to his standards.

"He died with his whole Hotshot team when a fire took our hometown."

They work hard and they play harder. There is no shortage of women for either of them. But six months with the same woman is their limit. River's heart is taken, only his best friend Avery Claire doesn't seem to have a clue.

Avery Claire had been my best friend since I was eighteen. I'd also been silently in love with her for just as long.

Avery's life is hard. Ever since her mom dies in a car accident, she's been taking care of her father. He's become nasty and difficult and he drinks way more than he should. He seems to live for his pain pills and treats Avery like dirt. But she stays because her little sister Addy needs her. If she tried to get custody away from her father there is no guarantee she would win and he might take her away out of site. Her relationship with River is her only escape from the hell she is living. She works three jobs and knows she will never get out of this town.

But things are about to get shaken up when a friend of River and Bishop's is getting the original squad of the Legacy Hotshot Crew rebuilt. Only they can not do it without the two of them joining up. It's a stipulation of the town council.

"It has to be made up primarily of Legacies. Blood of the original team."

The only problem-this squad is out of Colorado. The brothers would have to move-River would have to leave Avery behind. He needs to go to Colorado and follow the dream to be part of his father's legacy, but at the same time how can he leave the only girl he has ever loved? It's about time he told her how he felt for her.

"Because I get you. I can't leave you. It's never been Bishop keeping me here. It's always been you."

Maybe River can come up with a plan that they can all live with-maybe Avery and her family can come to Colorado with him. He is determined that he can't leave her behind. Can Avery think of her own needs for once? Is she willing to lose River? How can he want her and all her baggage when he can have his pick of women?

"Nothing mattered before you. No one mattered before you? Do you understand?

Things will not come easily for these two. They will be tested more than once. Can the fire burning between them ignite or will it sizzle out when life knocks them and their dreams of being together down?

Ignite may be a novella but it is reads as a full length story. It never felt rushed or thrown together. Both characters are likable and their feelings seem genuine-this one is well worth the read!

"Yeah, well, we don't remember the easily won games, right? The victories we remember are the ones where the outcome came down to the last minute, the overtime."

One truth can explain everything.

Declan Kelly has spent his entire adult life saving people, all the while avoiding any real connections or emotions. He’s already been destroyed once, and after she ruined him, he knows he’ll never love again.

Almost two decades later, Declan moves back home to raise his daughter around his family. He tried to prepare himself for how he would react when he saw Amie, but could never have anticipated just how hard it would be to remain unaffected.

Amie Dotson knew from the moment she lied that Dec wouldn’t forgive her… but she didn’t want him to. Lying was easier than the truth because he would have stayed for her, and she didn’t want him to miss out on his dreams because of her.

Harboring more than one secret, Amie tries to avoid Declan when she discovers he’s back in town, but when he sees the evidence marring her body, she knows he’ll do whatever it takes to remove the fear from her eyes.

When the truth is revealed, can two people finally find the happiness they lost but never forgot?

The same cab company I called this morning is picking me up in ten minutes, so I go outside to wait but come to a halt when I see Declan leaning against his car, looking pissed. Sexy and hot, but pissed. My feet move me to stand in front of him; an involuntary force pulls me to him even though I don’t want to. He doesn’t need me interrupting his happy life.

His arms are crossed, his ankles are crossed, and his eyes are drilling into me. “Get in the car.”

I lick my lips, and his eyes follow my tongue. “I have a cab on the way.”

“Get in the car, Amie.”

I flinch at his angry tone, and his face softens. “You know I’d never, ever hurt you, honey. I’d fuckin’ rip my own nails off with pliers before I let any harm come to you.”

I know he’d never lay a hand on me in anger. He’s always treated me like a damn princess. “Declan, I—”

“Tell me you know that, Amie.”

My voice softens. “I know that, D.”

“Good.” He straightens again. “You wanna do this here?”

“Do what?”

“I gave you last night. But now you’re going to tell me why the fuck you’re with Larry fucking Foster.”

I hesitate, and he sees it. He always saw everything.

“So again, you wanna do this here, or do you want to get in the car so I can take you back to my place where you can explain it to me?”

Just then, the cab pulls up, and I start to back away from him and head toward the yellow vehicle. I don’t want to tell him. I can’t tell him. I can’t say it out loud because if I do, it shows how pitiful I am. How the person I used to be is nothing but a hollow version of a girl with a broken heart.

“Don’t think about it, Amie. I will throw you over my shoulder if you even try to run away from me again.”

Book Tour: Bossman by Vi Keeland

BOSSMAN TOUR.jpg

Blurb
The first time I met Chase Parker, I didn’t exactly make a good impression.
I was hiding in the bathroom hallway of a restaurant, leaving a message for my best friend to save me from my awful date.
He overheard and told me I was a bitch, then proceeded to offer me some dating advice.
So I told him to mind his own damn business—his own tall, gorgeous, full-of-himself damn business—and went back to my miserable date.
When he walked by my table, he smirked, and I watched his arrogant, sexy ass walk back to his date.
I couldn’t help but sneak hidden glances at the condescending jerk on the other side of the room.  Of course, he caught me on more than one occasion, and winked.
When the gorgeous stranger and his equally hot date suddenly appeared at our table, I thought he was going to rat me out.
But instead, he pretended we knew each other and joined us—telling elaborate, embarrassing stories about our fake childhood.
My date suddenly went from boring to bizarrely exciting.
When it was over and we parted ways, I thought about him more than I would ever admit, even though I knew I’d never see him again.
I mean, what were the chances I’d run into him again in a city with eight million people?
Then again…
What were the chances a month later he’d wind up being my new sexy boss?

bossman cover use.jpg5 Could Not Get Enough Stars!
Review by Lisa Kane

If I was NASA's next choice to go up in space, they would have to hold up that launch until I was finished reading a book if it was by Vi Keeland. This woman is incapable of writing a bad story. I swear, I always think she can't get any better and then her next one will blow me away. Bossman-no exception here!

Reese Annelsey is on the date from hell. If her date brings up his mother and one of his bore ass stories about her one more time she's gonna scream. So she does what we've all done. She excuses herself and hides out to call her friend so she can come up with an "emergency" to get out of her date. Only she's overheard talking to her best friend by Chase Parker, who's there on a date himself. He calls her out on her plans. They bicker back and forth and Reese is god smacked by this gorgeous asshat.

"It's the oldest trick in the book, the emergency phone call. The least you can do is put in a little more effort. It takes two months to get a reservation at this place, and it's not cheap, sweetheart."
When she returns to her table waiting for her phone to ring, what does Chase do? He and his date just walk right on over to her table and he pretends to be her old friend from middle school.

"I'm Chase Parker. Reese and I go way back."

"Martin Ward." My date nodded.
"Martin, mind if we join you? It's been years since Buttercup and I have seen each other. I'd love to catch up. You don't mind, do you?"

Gotta love this guy's moves.

Reese is enjoying the date way more since Chase interrupted it. He spins story after story about their phony childhood. She hates to see it end.

Knowing nothing about him, she doubts she will see him again. In the mean time she needs to find a job. She's worked in marketing for years at the same cosmetic company, but made a stupid decision and slept with one of her co-workers. Turns out he got himself engaged a couple of days later and she can't work with that lying douche, especially as he is going to be her boss. So it's one dead end interview after another for the next few weeks. On the upside she's just met a nice guy. Bryant. He's cute, polite and treats her like a queen. Only she can't help but compare him to one gorgeous, bossy, snarky guy she met a month ago.

In a twist of fate, Reese meets Chase again at Bryant's gym (ok, she may have tracked him down on Facebook and knows he trains there) He finds out she is looking for a job and hooks her up with an interview. Guess he forgot to mention it's his cosmetic company. Of course she ends up getting the job and that's when the story just gets juicier by the page. Chase was reluctant to hire her because he wants her and it's just not a good idea.

"So we're good? I apologize, you accept? You're going to kick ass in the interview and get hired, then I'm going to try to get in your pants, and you're not going to let me."

Chase might be rich, brilliant and gorgeous but he has some heavy baggage. Reese is funny and dorky and fierce and she can hold her own.

Reese is loving this working for this company and hasn't felt so excited about her job in years. She puts in a ton of hours and it's bringing out the best in her.

"I find I'm more creative in the evening. Sometimes after I've climbed into bed and shut off the lights, an idea will come to me for something I was trying all day to focus on."
"I'm very creative when I shut off the lights and slip into bed, too. Maybe we should try that together sometime? Probably produce some amazing results-twice as creative and all."
I shook my head but smiled, amused. "You're an HR nightmare, aren't you?"

But like any delicious story, the axe must fall and the angst must begin. Cue the ominous music... Both Reese and Chase face demons from their past. Real, horrible and debilitating ones. Hearts are gonna break, Jack Daniels is going to get guzzled and readers are going to hurt. God, I love a story that puts me through the wringer. Devour this one folks, cause it's a keeper!!

"Sometimes you don't know what you're missing until you find it."

“Sorry, I wasn’t looking where—”
I froze.
The sight of Chase standing there was almost enough to knock me over. I’d secretly hoped to see him, yet never thought I actually would. What are the chances? I did a double take, sure I was seeing things. But it was him all right, in the flesh. And what flesh it is. Standing there shirtless and wet—wearing nothing but a pair of low-slung swim trunks—he had me stuttering. Literally.
“Ch…Ch…Ch—” I couldn’t get the word out.
Of course, Chase didn’t miss a beat. He smirked and leaned in. “You do a cute train impression, Buttercup.”
He remembers me.
I shook my head, attempting to snap myself out of it. But it was no use. He was so tall, and I was so short, I had no choice but to stare at his body. Water trickled down his abs. I was mesmerized watching it speed up and slow down as it crossed the rippled lines of his six-pack. Damn.
I cleared my throat and finally spoke. “Chase.”
I was pretty freaking proud of myself for getting that much out. He had a towel slung around his neck and lifted it to dry off his dripping hair, revealing even more flesh. His pectoral muscles were carved and perfect. And—oh, my God…is that… Holy shit. It is. His nipples were cold and erect, and one of them was….was…pierced.
