*New Adult Romance*
Forgiving your brother's murderer may be noble, but falling in love with him borders on betrayal.
When Paige Zukowski enrolls at Granton University in honor of her dead brother, she has no idea fate will land her on the same campus with the very guy who killed him. But Logan Xander isn't quite the murderer she's always believed him to be.
A day hasn't passed since the tragedy that Logan doesn't wish he could go back and undo everything. It doesn't take Paige long to realize he's suffered as much as she has. Forgiving him for ruining her life might not be so impossible after all. But when she actually starts to like him and realizes he likes her in return, their true anguish begins.

Sometimes you can't help who you fall in love with. No matter how hard you try to stay away from someone, sometimes you just feel this magnetic pull towards them and you find yourself not wanting to let go, no matter how much you know that being with that one person is wrong. But sometimes the person that you thought was all wrong for you ends up being someone that you have an amazing and unexpected connection with, the one person who understands you, the one person who makes you happy and helps you to feel alive again. For Paige Zukowski that person was Logan Xander, even if he was the person responsible for her brother's death.
The last three years for Paige have been filled with both pain and grief. After her brother died, she watched as her father drowned his pain in alcohol and watched her mother fall into a deep state of depression, and eventually losing her as well. It's been three years since her brother's death and she is determined to live the life that he was supposed to live. She enrolls in the college that he would have attended as a way of honoring him. But when she made plans to move and attend Granton college she did not expect to run into the one person in the world that she hates, the person who took everything from her, Logan Xander.
Logan never forgot that fateful and tragic night 3 years ago. He moved away from home to a place where no one know who he was or what he did. He wanted to start over. That memory of that night still haunts him but he is trying to move on, and become a better person. Things have been going ok for Logan for the past three years, but now that the sister of the person he killed is going to the same school as him, that could all change. Logan is afraid of what Paige will do and who she will tell about what happened that night. He knows that if she tells one person what happened that night and what he did, that it could change everything for him. Logan cannot seem to get Paige out of his mind and it's not just because he is afraid of what she will say. He knows how much she hates him but for some reason he cannot stop thinking about her, wanting to know her. He even finds himself sacrificing the things in life that make him happy to make her feel more comfortable and happy. Falling for Paige Zukowski just isn't an option for him, at all..........or is it?
Paige is trying everything she can to stay away from Logan, but the truth is he is never far from her mind. She should hate him, should want him to pay for what he did but there is this pull and connection towards him that she cannot explain. As she starts to see Logan, I mean really look deep and see who he really is she sees that he is not the rich spoiled kid that she thought he was. He is someone who made a stupid mistake three years ago and has been paying for it ever since. He is just as broken and damaged from that night as she is. But what she really saw was that he was truly sorry for what happened. Logan doesn't believe that he deserves happiness and he certainly doesn't deserve Paige's love.
Paige and Logan grow closer and Paige eventually is able to forgive him. But what will her father and best friend think of her relationship with Logan? Can she really be falling for her brother's killer and can they honestly make it work?
"It's like you're the sunlight and I'm darkness. You are so amazing, you don't even realize. You've been so good for me. I need you like I've never needed anything. But I'm just bad for you. I hate that."

I loved Paige and Logan. They were both so broken and damaged in their own way as a result of an incident that they both experienced. But in a way I think they both found each other and were able to move on and heal. They both went to Granton to escape the life they lived at home. They both wanted to move on and start a new life. And somehow fate brought the two of them together. Paige went to Granton University to honor her brother, and in the process she found two amazing new best friends, she found love and happiness when least expected, but I think she also found herself. Logan was amazing! My heart broke for the both of them at times for all that they went through. You felt the pain that they both felt, you saw how wonderful Logan is, how much he truly cared for Paige and how deeply sorry he was for what he did. We watched as Paige struggled with her feelings for Logan and how despite everything that happened, being with him made her happy. They were meant to be together and had this undeniable connection. I loved how their relationship was slowly built and never rushed, which is what made this story real. Fighting Fate was a beautiful story of forgiveness, redemption second chances, and finding love when least expected. There are twists and turns along the way that will surprise you. You will fall in love with both of these characters and be rooting for them to find happiness. A Wonderful job by Linda Kage.
