Our 4 Star review for Rock My World by Michelle A. Valentine

*A Novella in the New York Times and USA Today best-selling Black Falcon series*

After Aubrey Jenson is wrongly dismissed from her job at Center Stage Marketing, she seeks legal advice from her father, The Judge, to see what grounds she has to get her position reinstated. Her surprise visit to her family doesn’t go as smoothly as she hopes when she brings home her new boyfriend, Zach, Black Falcon’s lead guitarist. She soon discovers that father doesn’t always know best when it comes to matters of the heart.

When Zach meets Aubrey’s family, he’s immediately faced with his deepest fear: The love he so desperately wants, he doesn’t deserve. The Judge makes no attempt to hide his disdain for Zach, and will stop at nothing to keep him away from his daughter.

But an unexpected twist turns everyone’s plans upside down and no one’s world will ever be the same.

Outside forces attempting to pull them apart are strong and it’s going to take every bit of Zach and Aubrey’s love for one another to withstand the fall-out. Soon, they discover making love last is harder than finding it to begin with and sometimes you pay the ultimate price for true love.

 4 Star review

“They don’t have to accept me, Aubrey. All that matters to me is that you do.”

When Aubrey Jenson takes Zach aka Riff, home to meet her family things don’t go over so well. After being wrongfully terminated from her job, Aubrey seeks guidance from her father who is known as The Judge. Her parents do their best to steer her away from Zach. Aubrey knows what she wants and she will fight tooth and nail for him, her parents be damned.

“The more I’m with you, the more I want you. I love you, Zach. For some crazy, messed up reason you’re my soul-mate. The man I’m supposed to be with forever.”

Zach Oliver knew the moment Aubrey’s parents laid eyes on him that they didn’t like him. With Aubrey, Zach has the love he so desperately wants but feels he doesn’t deserve. She knows his darkest secrets and yet she is still by his side. What shocks Zach the most is the length The Judge goes to, to keep him away from Aubrey.

“It’s you and me against the world now, right?”

Sometimes the weight of the world is enough to break the strongest relationships. When a person from Aubrey’s past is forced back into her life, things become a bit rough for the happy couple. Then Zach suffers two devastating blows, one that will change his life forever.

“I love you, baby—so f@#king much. Don’t you dare think about leaving me.”

I adore Riff. The crap he has dealt with and continues to deal with. He is such a great guy but so broken I love that fact that Aubrey saves him. I loved seeing him so vulnerable. It broke my heart. His passion, omg his freaking passion is off the charts!

It is so true about what they say...never judge a book by its cover. That is exactly what her parents did to him and it was almost too late for them to see past the tattoos to realize just how much he loves their daughter.

Aubrey is beautiful and so strong. She stands by Zack no matter what and will do anything for him, even if it is to disown her own family. I do have to say, I really enjoyed her brother Gabe. I hope to see more of him in future books.

The bonus chapter was Fantastic!!! LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!!

Michelle has once again outdone herself with Riff and Aubrey’s story.  Such an emotionally beautiful read!
