Skylar has always stood in the background, watching his best friend begin a life with the woman he fell in love with until he can no longer keep a distance.

Right when Mira thinks her life is back on track it spirals out of control. What if everything you thought you knew was nothing more than a mirage.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Hagen

Starting with an emotional prologue and ending the book on a huge revelation, this books packs some serious punches in between.  There is no shortage of angst from start to finish.   You will find yourself screaming out loud “No!!! Please NO!!!”  on more than one occasion.

The book begins a few days following college graduation of 4 close-knit friends.  Danny and Mira have been a couple since freshman orientation and Skylar and Kylee are their best friends.  Danny and Skylar have always been best friends and they love their motorcycles (**swoon** you had me at motorcycle).   When they would ride their motorcycles there was a silent language spoken between the two friends.

Danny and Mira have a sweet love between them.  It is deep and strong and you can feel the depth of their love radiating from the pages.

“You’re it for me, Pea,” Danny said.  “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you.  We’re going to be so disgustingly happy, our friends are going to hate us,” he joked.

Unknown to Mira, Skylar has always loved her.  In fact, Skylar saw her first at freshman orientation but Danny beat him to talking to her.  In that moment, Skylar knew that he would never have a chance against Danny to vie for her attention or her love.  He has sat in the sidelines harboring his love for 4 years.  Now he has the opportunity to be closer to Mira than he ever imagined.   Mira needs Skylar’s support and friendship, but can they distinguish between what is friendship and what is love?  Do they take their friendship a step too far?

“…I turn to pull the door shut behind me.  Bad idea.  My eyes meet Skylar’s.  I knew my eyes had tears in them, but I didn’t expect his eyes to be misty as well.”

Now Mira has lost the one person who was helping her keep it together.   She needs to find her own strength and determination to keep moving forward and walk out of the past and into an unknown future.  And when things start to finally make sense for her and she can see clearly what this future may hold, we are left with a HUGE…HUGE cliffhanger that will leave you blinking your eyes, rubbing them with your palms, and flipping the pages back to make sure you read this correctly.  Yes folks…it’s that huge of a cliffhanger.

“I have never been more sure of anything.  I am in love with you and you with me.  What else is there to know?”

To answer the above question…There is PLENTY left for us to find out.
