Kathryn’s honesty and straightforwardness is the ultimate turn on for a guy like Dre. He’s never met someone so sincere, so full of truth and innocence. Their chemistry is unavoidable, their connection, magnetic. When Dre sets out to make Kathryn fall for him, he doesn’t realize the grave mistake he’s making. Kathryn’s strength and convictions do not falter, even for an irresistible man like Dre. When his past resurfaces, and the lies come tumbling forth, Kathryn must decide if his deceit and betrayal can be forgiven or if the damage is irreparable. Will the truth ultimately destroy the relationship that neither one of them could deny or even attempt to resist?
This novel is for mature readers only, due to language and sexual content.
4.5 Star Review by Amy Bustard
Can you fall in love with someone when you don’t even know their real name? Can you love someone when all you do is lie to them?
You can tell yourself that you’re not going to get caught up in someone, not going to get close, and heck, not fall in love, but damn it, sometimes your head and hearts are at odds. There’s nothing you can do to reconcile the war between the head and the heart. The heart always wins, and when it does get shattered, the smug little head, sits back, folds its arms, and says, “I told you so.”
Dre Donelly is a liar with secrets and a past he is running away from. Faking his identity and pretending to be someone he is not. Helping others and evading questions is his new way of life.
He is hot- Paul Walker Hot! He uses his looks and Casanova personality to get what he wants.. Now he wants Kathryn. Kathryn Howell is beautiful. She has a girl-next-door face and a personality that demands respect. Kathryn does not date for looks- she dates for brains. “Nerdy” guys are her type- they are safe. She does not fall for a player's tricks.
“Oh wow, hot stranger, should I take my panties off now or would you like to do it for me?” she asks rolling her eyes. “I have a freaking dead battery. I need jumper cables and a jump-not that kind- and I’ll be good to go.”
Game On!
Great debut book by Angelisa Stone. A story that makes you swoon and warms your heart. I was drawn in from the beginning and I was unable to put this book down! Love, Lies, and Heartbreak. Some things are worth the risk.
Loved it!
