Alexithmia- the inability to describe emotions in a verbal manner.
That's Kristen Proby- she has the ability to leave me speechless (hard task I know). Her stories are a crazy blend of romance, steam, angst, love, drama, and perfection. And starting a new series can be nerve wracking- especially when the With Me in Seattle series is damn near perfect (only thing it needed more of was Nate- don't judge). There's no need to worry Mrs. Proby- you are perfection personified. The new Under The Big Sky series promises another cast of characters for us to fall in love with. Josh is the swoon-worthy alpha hero, who owns the Lazy K ranch in Montana. He's the typical, or so he's been penned, playboy cowboy.
"The front door swings open, and there he is- all six foot three of him. Only with great effort does my jaw not drop. Jesus they breed hot men in Montana"
Be still my beating heart- Josh gives Nate (Fight with Me) a run for his money. Seriously, I want to know all of him instantly. And you meet the guy right off the bat.
"He has a dimple in his left cheek that can melt panties at twenty paces."
I want one!! But not only is he swoon worthy- Cara, the novels heroine, is the sassy, independent type I love.
"I reach down for Cara's hand, it's so small like the rest of her, and yet she's one of the strongest people I know. I couldn't admire her more than I do right now."
Le sigh. My heart literally skipped a beat. Cara is hired to tutor Seth, Josh's young nephew. His good for nothing egg donor left him on Josh's door step to handle, until Josh's brother, Zach, came home. And Seth is not only giving everyone a hard time (including his uncle and
grandparents) but is also failing a lot of classes. What Cara didn't bank on was Josh King.
"What are you doing here?" "I don't know," he closes his eyes and sighs leaning his forehead against mine. "One taste of you wasn't enough, I can't get you out of my head."
Can't you just picture that moment, and he sighs! SIGHS. Ugh- love! And their witty banter is to die for.
"Why do I have to go and be attracted to a morning person?
"Time is it?" I asked against the pillow.
"Five thirty."
"Are you here for sex?"
"Unfortunately no."
"If you leave now I'll let you live."
And the way he calls her by her given name, Carolina- is just. I can't even explain how it gets to me.
"You destroy me."
"You are it for me."
"You make me a better woman."
Don't you want your significant others to say these things to you?? It's just amazing how you can feel so strongly for fictional characters- and Kristen makes it so easy. They are real people, they do exist. And Kristen shares them with the world. We get a glimpse into their lives and oh boy do I want more. You will not be disappointed. And if Loving Cara is any indication of Kristen's attempt at a new series- she's just become one of those authors that I
buy books simply because they wrote it. I could care less what the book is about. If she wrote of two aliens finding love in outer space or talking dogs competing in the Olympics- I'd read it. What can I say, she's that good. Pick up Loving Cara NOW!! Now I say!!
