Every Second With You = Sex. Love. Addiction. Heartache. Pain. And Hope.
In the sequel to the bestselling new adult romance THE THRILL OF IT, Harley and Trey face new challenges that will make battling blackmail, sex addiction, and a virgin call girl past look easy…
I used to think love was a lie. Now I know it’s real, powerful, and I don’t want to lose it…But my future scares me, and there’s no way this can be happening, especially since I’ve finally broken free from all the people who wanted pieces of me. I don’t even know how to start over, but I have to find a way. So when I discover what my mother’s been keeping from me, it doesn’t make me hate her. It gives me hope for a new life, outside of New York. But the ties that bind me to this city are so strong, sometimes they are chains. If only I could leave with…
Trey...
I will do anything for her. She owns me, heart, mind and body. But when Harley tells me this, I am rocked to the core, and terrified of what happens next. Especially when now it’s not her past that chases me, it’s someone from my own. And that someone is messing with my head when I’m trying to be strong for Harley. But all I really want is to escape with the girl I love…For the rest of our lives.
How can you move forward when the past keeps chasing you?

5 Heart Wrenching Star review by Faith Dotson
I loved this book right from the beginning…even the moments when I wanted to throat punch Trey, to the point I was in
tears! Everything a sequel should have: laughs, tears, swoon, and hate.
Lauren Blakely has stepped up her writing, yet again, and we the readers are the one’s that reap with the benefits.
"We've all made mistakes. We've all done things we wish we hadn't. The goal is to learn and move on and try to live a
life of no regrets."
We all know the heartache that Trey and Harley have been through, if not, you need to read *The Thrill of It *before reading this. How can two souls pull through all that? I’m going to say love, commitment, and triumph. Yes, that may sound “sappy” but once you start reading, you won’t put it down and you’ll find yourself cheering them on and holding onto hope.
"Then her hands slip up my shirt, and she runs her fingernails across my arrow tattoo. I rub her shoulder and bring my lips to kiss her heart and arrow. It’s like we’re sealing a promise. One that neither of us ever expected to make; not now, not like this."
Harley, a recovered sex addict, has finally started to put her past behind her. She has found a love that every woman
wants, in Trey. Oh but now she is hiding a secret and she is afraid that she will lose him. With Trey, his past haunts him. Every part of his family is etched in him, mind and soul. So when Harley finally tells her secret, Trey really warrants a punch to the throat with his actions. But eventually he becomes that man that had all of us swooning in the first place.
"Funny, how we try to plan for things, and anticipate perfect moments, but then life comes and punches our plans in the mouth, leaving us with big fat lips. But then moments circle back around, and they become more perfect than we could have planned."
She still deals with issues in her family that disappoints her. But finally she has encouraging things that have come
about that has her more focused on herself. She is becoming stronger, finally being comfortable with her past and she
has become more open about her feelings. You will be so pleased at the way Harley handles herself in tense situations.
"I want to cry, I want to sob, I want to hold him close and never let him go. I am in heaven with him, and I have one
foot in the hell of my own fear, so I need to lose myself in sex, in love, in connection. Maybe this is the druggie in me, the junkie that doesn’t know how to deal without her fix."
He knows Harley is hiding something and it pulls his insecurities out. Trey only knows one way to deal with the news he receives, he shuts down and tries to find ways to hide his pain. Like I said earlier, I wanted to throat punch him but in the next sentence, my heart was breaking for him. This news will definitely put all the new coping skills they have learned to the test. Trey is still dealing with his past and trying to find out along the way of what he can’t live without. Even with his fears of loss, he still commits and shields those he cares about.
"That’s what she’s been teaching me, in her own quiet way. To live each day, to embrace it, to seize the moment, because that’s all we ever have."
"Moments. With each other. Without regret."
The book still deals with the uncertainties, insecurities, disappointments, and those lingering demons. But the love these two share brings so much hope. These two soul mates have traveled from hell and back to find each other. Their chemistry is outstanding, the fun, adoring banter is still there and their relationship is stronger than ever.
Somehow, this has become our life, born from the darkest of circumstances, bred from the painful pull of addiction, and even so I wouldn't change a thing.”
These two have come from along way. The emotionally empty people have become amazing, caring individuals who have
learned to put their trust in each other. I felt this book was more of Trey dealing with his insecurities and pasts, onto finding his salvation.
I really dislike the fact that this is the last book, but I thoroughly enjoyed them finding the ugly beautiful in their lives even with the emotional twists that Lauren throws at you. Also the secondary characters, I enjoyed seeing how they have matured and progressed in their lives. Have no fear but the addition of new secondary characters will have your heart growing more in love with this book.
My advice is grab your drink of choice, your favorite blanket and find your favorite reading spot because you will find yourself sucked in and not putting it down till you have finished. Oh, and don’t forget something to cool you off after reading how these two steam up the windows.
