Blog Tour Review, Giveaway and Excerpt: Revealed (Vice, Virtue and Video) by Bianca Giovanni

James Laird and Lola Caraway have been next door neighbors and best friends since elementary school. James was always the ultimate player, and after graduation moves to LA and finds his place as a rising star in the porn industry. Lola, three years younger, is a studious overachiever and on track for graduation and success in college. Lola knows about and accepts James and his debauchery; it's never been a secret between the two friends. However, a hometown visit prompts James to face his evolving feelings for her, especially after his conservative family discovers his true profession and she comes to his rescue. Not wanting to seduce the innocent Lola, he returns to California, where he sets his sights on becoming a superstar in the industry. While Lola is visiting James from college, they dance around their attraction to each other. After Lola admits she's never had an orgasm, James offers to be her hands-on teacher. A lifetime of friendship with a manwhore tells Lola that she should not get attached to James as a lover, as tempting as his offer may be. Can she please her body while still protecting her heart? From the author of some of the highest rated erotic romance on Smashwords comes this first look into a world of love, friendship...and porn.

3.5 Star Review by Jen Hagen

James and Lola have been the best of friends since they were young children, each providing comfort and a steady presence whenever life became more than they could handle on their own.   Lola is a senior in high school, soon graduating.  James is 3 years older than Lola and has dropped out of college, moved away from home and set up a lucrative career in California.  When he left home he was going to make it big in the film industry.  He has been successful but nobody back home is aware of his porn star status and  how he earns his money.  Lola is aware of it, supports him as best she can, and even listens as a good friend when James describes his film scenarios and real-life sexual conquests.  Both James and Lola value their friendship and when they come close to crossing an imaginary line, they are smart enough not to ruin their friendship and to put a stop to anything more than just playful flirting and casual cuddling.

She’s the kind of girl you fall in love with.  If I kissed her, I’d want to have sex with her, but you don’t have sex with someone like Lola.  You have to make love to a girl like her.

When James’ family finally learns the truth about him being a porn the crap hits the fan.  James has never had a close relationship with his father, and this just drives the wedge between them further.  James has always been the black sheep in the family, with the older brother always getting the praise and attention.  His father blatantly yells obscenities at his son and James is admonished from the family.

“Do you hear me?  You’re a failure!”  My eyes sting and my throat burns and I can feel myself start to cry.

James is not used to dealing with any feelings.  If he feels overwhelmed with anything he instead focuses on sex.    Sex for him does not end when the cameras stop rolling; the scenes continue playing out in his apartment.  James has always used women for sex and has never had a relationship.

Lola and James experiment with giving Lola a taste of what orgasmic bliss feels like.  Does this blur the lines of their friendship?  Can James even consider being involved in a monogamous relationship?

This is definitely a moment.  Something’s happening right now.  The way she’s looking at me and the way it makes me feel, all fluttery and warm.

The story is told in alternating points of view between James and Lola.  James and Lola’s story will continue in the next installment.

I scream when I see James standing on my porch.

“Come here!” He smiles and reaches out, grabbing me around my waist

for a huge hug. He twirls me around in a circle and kisses my cheek a bunch

of times. I’m smiling so wide my face hurts as I wrap my arms around him

tightly. I’ve missed him so much it’s insane!

“You look fuckin’ great, Lo,” he says fondly when he puts me down.

“You’re not looking so bad yourself there, stud,” I tease, and he looks down

with adorable modesty.

He’s looking fantastic, actually. His hair is even longer than it was before

— those lustrous, chestnut waves brush his shoulders now. He was usually

clean-shaven in high school, but he’s got a little facial hair going on, and it’s

drawing major attention to his lips, which have always been one of his best

features. His tan makes his hazel eyes look greener, and his arms are more cut

than they were the last time I saw him. He’s clearly been hitting the gym and

enjoying sunny Southern California.

“You’ve been working out, I see.” I give his bicep a little squeeze.

“A little bit.” He grins and flexes his muscles. “You’re lookin’ pretty tight

these days too, kid,” he teases, playfully patting my butt.

“Yeah, I don’t know if you know this, but I’m totally a hot chick now,” I

pretend to boast.

“I noticed that.” He chuckles. “And I’m guessing all the guys in town have

noticed it too.”

I roll my eyes. “Come on.” I motion for him to step inside. “Let’s at least

get into the living room before you give me the sex lecture.”

He laughs and follows me inside.

Before we get past the kitchen, he wraps his arms around me from behind

and pulls me close against his chest. I lean into him, and he bends to rest his

chin on the top of my head.

“All right, all right,” he says, “I won’t give you the sex lecture. I know you’ve

heard it a thousand times.”

“Good.” I smile, resting my arms over his hands on my waist. “I’m a senior

in high school, for Christ’s sake! Do you know how many health classes and

Lifetime movies I’ve sat through in my life? I don’t need to hear about all the

pitfalls of teenage sex.”
