Review and Giveaway: Lost in Me by Lexi Ryan

Get ready for NYT Bestselling Author Lexi Ryan’s new series Here and Now! The first novel in the series, LOST IN ME, is a sexy New Adult contemporary romance released April 7th!

LOST IN ME is the first book in the Here and Now series, a spin-off of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Hope series. This sexy amnesia love triangle is intended for mature readers.

The last thing I remember is having drinks at Brady’s and trying to avoid eye-contact with my life-long crush—the gorgeous, unattainable Maximilian Hallowell. They tell me that was a year ago, but I have no memories of anything since then. What I do have is this ring on my finger that Max says he gave me, and this much-thinner body I’ve dreamed of most of my life. Aside from a case of retrograde amnesia, everything seems almost…perfect.

But the deeper I immerse myself into this new world of mine—planning a wedding to a man I don’t remember dating, attempting to run a business I don’t remember starting—the clearer it becomes that nothing is as it seems. Do I have the life I’ve always wanted or is it a facade propped up by secrets I don’t even know I have?

I need answers before I marry Max, and the only person who seems to have them is the angry, tatted, sexy-as-sin rocker Nate Crane. And Nate wants me for himself.

LOST IN ME is not a standalone novel, as the story continues in Here and Now book two, FALL TO YOU, releasing in June.

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

When I first read the synopsis of this book I though "Oh My God can I handle this one."  lol  I am  not a big fan of love triangles, and then add in the fact that this is a trilogy (which we all know what that means) and the heroine has amnesia, my heart was racing just thinking about it.    But this is Lexi Ryan and I love her writing so I just knew I had to read it.  And I am so glad that I did.  I was completely sucked in from the very first page and could not put this book down.

Hanna finds herself waking up in a hospital bed not being able to remember the last year of her life.  She has no idea how she got there or why.  All she knows is what people are telling her.  A lot has changed in the last year.  Hanna has a new body, and a ring on her finger from the man that she has had a crush on for most of her life.  But the problem is she can't even remember when they actually started dating, never mind when he proposed.  And then she finds out that there is a possibility that she is cheating on her fiancĂ© with a hot rock star named Nate Crane.  A man she has no recollection of meeting.  Hanna is trying to figure it all out.  Find out what has happened over the past year, who is keeping things from her and who is telling her the truth.  As she tries to remember and starts putting the pieces together she discovers some things about herself that has completely taken her by surprise.  She's become this person that she doesn't even recognize.  Will Hanna remember everything about what has happened in the past year?  And how will she handle it when she finds out that some people may have been keeping some things from her?

Max is the man whose ring she is wearing.  He is also the man that she has had a crush on for as long as she can remember.  The last thing she remembers is wanting Max and him only having eyes for her twin sister.  I for one was not a big fan of Max's.  There was something about him that I did not trust. But being with Max is like a dream come true for Hanna.  And she grew up with him so she completely trusts everything that he says and does, until she starts to remembering and questions things.

Nate Crane is the sexy rock star that is also a big part of the last year of Hanna's life.  He is the only one who can really tell her what happened between them.  For the record I am 100% Team Nate.  I just loved him.  You can feel the love that he has for Hanna.  I don't want to say too much about him or Max because that would ruin the story for you.  But I loved him!!  I will leave it at that.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!  This book was a whirlwind of emotions.  I found myself sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what Hanna remembers next.  As the reader you are finding everything out with Hanna.   We don't know the back story of the past year or what happened.  The past year of Hanna's life is just as much of a mystery to the reader as it is to her, which is what I loved.  There is drama, angst, suspense and some moments that may make you cry.  There were some twists and turns that will surprise you, just as much as they surprised Hanna.  And the ending, all I will say is: Holy Crap I need the next installment now.

This book was amazing and so well done.  It goes back and forth from the present to the past when Hanna remembers certain moments.  I can't imagine going through what Hanna is going through.  Especially not being able to remember who you love and who you wanted to be with.  Ms. Ryan did a wonderful job with this book and I cannot wait to see what happens.

About the Author

Once a college English professor, I now write full time. I live in rural Indiana, where, when I’m not writing, I get to hang out with my husband and two kids–a six-year-old boy and a two-year-old hellion, er, girl. Not surprisingly, reading and writing remain my favorite activities, though both come in bits and pieces these days, not the big hunks of time I enjoyed before I had children. When I’m feeling virtuous, I like to go running (I use that word liberally. I’m really, really slow) or do yoga. Don’t worry, I’m always careful to balance out such activities with a hearty serving of ice cream or a chocolate martini.
