Review by The Price of Love By Cassy Roop

Two short months before graduating high school, Kendall Jones’ world is ripped apart at the seams. A stranger rescues her from a near brutal attack, but is unable to save her parents from death. Eight years later, Kendall moves to New York, hoping to put her past behind her, and once again finds herself in need of rescue.

Tristan Price saves the life of a young woman, who then haunts his dreams for eight long years. When she literally falls at his feet, Tristan decides that he will protect her, no matter what the cost. When her past comes back to threaten her, his plan to keep her close could cost his heart.

Can Tristan save Kendall a second time, and at what cost? Can the price of love overshadow the darkness of her past?

4 Sweet Stars
Review by Allison East
This was a sweet novel from a new author, Cassy Roop. My overall impression was that it captured my attention from the get go, and I had to finish it to figure out what was going to happen with Kendall.
Kendall is the heroine of the story and she is a trooper. She has gone through so much in her life, you can't help but feel so sorry for her and all because of some psycho guy who was obsessed with her, and he was more like a stalker than a boyfriend. He did all of these things to hurt Kendall and she was forever changed because of him. I don't want to give away what he ended up doing to her and her family, but you can only imagine.

Then years later -into the future, she runs into someone familiar who she can't quite put her finger on-Tristan Price. Hubba Hubba, Tristan, very clearly a hero- but he hid secrets of his own from Kendall, causing angst to ensue. But who wants a cut and dry romance, we have to have a little angst. These two together are super sweet, but also steamy. The sexual tension between Kendall and Tristan grabs you and doesn't let go and I loved it! I was happy anytime Tristan and Kendall were together because I would literally be giddy! She ends up working for him, and they get closer that way.

I like the description of the places around the characters, I could picture where Kendall and Cassie lived really well. It's always nice to be able to get a visual going in your head of how the characters live. Gives you a window into their world, and into the author's.

There is a bunch of suspense, romance, angst, and it's an allover fantastic story. The mystery surrounding many of the aspects of the story is really a great part of the book. I was dying to figure out all the secrets. I loved the different POV's throughout the book; I like knowing what the other was thinking and feeling instead of trying to guess how someone might feel.

Jackson and Cassie's story is next and I cannot wait for it. Jackson is Tristan's best friend and head of security and Cassie is Kendall's best friend and basically like a sister. These two were interesting and amazing friends and I cannot wait to read their story!
Great debut novel from Cassy Roop.
