Review: Chasing the Sun by Nikki Mathis Thompson

When Ian Radcliffe gets the opportunity to leave town to consult on the project of his career he’s doesn’t think twice. He loads his dog and guitar into the back of the Jeep and flips Dallas the bird as it becomes a speck in his rearview.
A change of scenery, that’s just what he needs. His heart isn’t broken anymore, just sore. He thought he’d found the one in Katrine MacNamara, but unfortunately she thought he was number two.
He wasn’t a rich businessman, or a rockstar...he was just an architect. He believed in love, family, and friendship. Some might call him the ‘nice guy’. He always thought so— do the right thing, protect the bullied, return your mom’s calls.
When two dynamic women enter his life in this new city the lines of friendship, sex, and love are blurred, his world of black and white becomes a little more gray.
Will the heartbroken become the heartbreaker?
Readers fell in love with Ian in Rebound and Resilient. This is his story and his chance at a love of his own. It won’t come easy, like he always thought it would. But nothing good comes easy...at least nothing worthwhile.
Hold onto your hammocks girls, your favorite nice guy is taking center stage. It’s Ian’s turn to get the girl...or two.
Chasing the Sun is a 40,000 word novella, and although this is a spinoff of the Rebound series, it can be read as a stand alone.

4.5 Fantastic Stars
Review by Natasha Gentile
So this book is a little special for me.  This author is a little special for me as well.  She is actually the first author I reached out to on Facebook to say ‘I loved your book Rebound, but you broke my heart”.  She was also the first author to give me an ARC for Resilient.  It was in these books that we first meet Ian Radcliffe.  He totally got the short end of the stick and I demanded, ok demanded is a big word, but I harassed her and basically told her you better be writing Ian’s book.  I mean he is hands down the nicest guy I have every read about.  Well till now…Oh Ian Ian Ian…WE need to talk.

So now he is off to Austin, for a new adventure.  You know what they say “Out with the old, in with the new”.  And what adventures he finds.  He actually finds two, count em, two adventures.  If you're wondering what I mean by  adventures- I mean women! This is where we need to talk.  You know it’s not good to have two girls, it's not good and it’s not nice, Ian,  you of all people should know this.

Meet Trey, can I say now- she is favorite. She's the bartender from the bar down the street.  Except, she’s actually in law school.  This girl is smart! So smart she decides that their relationship is going to be friendship only.  I mean yeah she finds him hot, after all this is Ian we are speaking about, but she knows he’s leaving when he finishes his work, so friends it is.  I actually loved their friendship, it was like best friends.  I mean best friends that want to do the nasty together.

Meet Rory.  Adventure Number two.  I tried oh I tried to like this girl.  Ok not really, I mean I rolled my eyes every time she was around.  Ok so Rory, she’s a singer, see rolling your eyes, she “puts men under her spell”, ugh I know, I should give her a chance.

So now he has all these new friendships, what's a guy to do?  Well he’s a guy so we can’t expect too much.  But what happens when he has to face the fact that his work is over and he's going to be moving back home,? Is his heart really back home or is it in Austin?  And then the question is who will he be chasing, and will they want to be caught?

This is another great read from Nikki Mathis Thompson, and I was excited to see Karine in the end!!!
