Review: The Lessons by Elizabeth Brown

Things weren’t exactly going according to my Plan, so I did what most Americans do when confronted with a problem : I hired someone else to fix it.

Except ‘it’ was my virginity.

And that ‘someone else’ was a sex surrogate.

I should have known the answer wouldn’t be that simple.

Stand-alone book 1 in The Off-Limits series.

3.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

Natalie had her whole life planned out.  It included a husband, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence.  But we all know that sometimes life has other plans for us.  And for Natalie that meant all of a sudden realizing that she is 30 years old, with no husband, no kids and still holding onto her V card.  Yes that is correct.  Natalie is a 30 year old virgin.  So what does she do?  She comes up with a new plan.  But in order to execute this plan she first needs to lose her virginity because being a virgin is a bit of a problem when finding the love of her life.   A problem that she must solve quickly.  So she does what any 30 year old virgin would do.  She moves across the country to hire a sex surrogate.  Ok so most women probably wouldn't even think of this idea but this is exactly what intrigued me about this book.  Who knew there was even such a thing.  But apparently there is and Natalie has every intention of moving on with her plan to lose her virginity to a surrogate.

There are rules when you hire a sex surrogate.  One being not to get emotionally involved.  Feelings have no part in this client/patient relationship.  But how can you not have feelings when the very sexy Ryan Andrews is the person who is teaching you everything you need to know about sexual relations.  And it’s not just about how sexy he but it is also the connection that Natalie feels with him. The fact that she cannot stop thinking about him.  But it isn’t just Natalie who feels it.  Ryan feels it too. Natalie is different that his other clients.  But falling for Natalie is very risky when it comes to his career.  can these two keep their relationship strictly professional or will they take it further.

I really enjoyed this book.  I loved learning about a sex surrogate and seeing exactly how it works.  I found myself wanting to ask so many questions.  I loved Ryan and Natalie together and was rooting for them to become more.  This story is sexy, sweet and fun.  I think my only issue was I wanted a little more depth to it.  There were one or two moments that also seemed a little rushed for me.  But overall it was a very enjoyable read.
