Review by Jen Skewes

Wow!  Just Wow!!  This is exactly how I felt when read the very last page of Dare Me.  I finished it yesterday and I am still thinking about it, especially Holt Hamilton, because that man is just too hot for words.  And not only is he hot but he is sweet and loving and just simply amazing!!  Totally swoon worthy!! When I first read the blurb for this book I really wasn’t sure what to make of it to be honest.  I am not sure why but I thought it would be very different from what it was.  And I am so glad that I was wrong because this book was amazing.  It was emotional, and fun and sexy all in one.

Saige Phillips had the perfect life until the age of 13 when it all started to crumble and a tragic incident left her broken.  In the prologue we see just what happened and my God my heart broke for this little girl.  I can not imagine seeing what she did at any age let alone as a kid.  But 10 years later Saige is still trying to get over the past.  She has moved back to Chicago where she has a new job that she loves and new friends.  One night after work her and her friends go to a bar and they play a little game of truth or dare.  That one game, and that one dare changed Saige’s life in a way she never expected.  But it also changed Holt Hamilton’s as well.

Holt Hamilton is Saige’s boss, he actually owns the company that she works for but is not her immediate boss.   When he hired her there was something about her that caught his eye.  She is smart and beautiful and he cannot stop thinking about her.  Her friends dared her to ask him out for a drink.  She accepted that dare.  When Holt Hamilton accepts her offer,  where will things go from there?

I don’t want to give anything away so let’s just talk about Holt….lol  Holt is one hottie and he has quickly worked his way into being one of my top book boyfriends.  At times he can be a little bossy but in a totally sexy way.  but was also so sweet and just wanted to be there for Saige.  He wanted to break her walls down, be there for her when she needed comfort and just wanted make her as happy as she made him.  He is not one for relationships but Saige changed that.

I loved Saige and together her and Holt were just perfect.  I felt for this girl so much and what she has been through.  I loved the friendships that she created with her co workers and how cute her and Holt were together.

What I loved the most about this book though was that there was no unnecessary drama.  There was definitely some angst in there.  Holt was hiding something and as the reader you don't know what his secret is but you know and feel that there is something that he is not telling Saige.  And you were just waiting for that moment to come when the truth comes out. I had my suspicions about what he was hiding but that did not take away from it in any way at all.  Because in that moment I felt everything these two felt.  In some way it still surprised me even though I had suspected it.  From this moment on is when the tears started to form.  I felt so sad for both characters.  For Saige because of the pain that the memories from her past brought her.  And for Holt because I could feel just how much he loved her, and how much it hurt him to see her hurt.  This book brought out all of the feels.  I laughed with these characters and hurt with them.  There were some fun moments and not just between Holt and Saige but with her co workers as well.  They were such a great addition to this story.  There is one person other than Holt that I fell in love with and that was Saige’s uncle Brent.  I do not know what it is about him but I just loved him and I am really hoping that he gets his own story.

I cannot express how much I loved this book.  I did not want to put it down an even the next day I am still thinking about these two characters.  Amazing job by Ms. Shea!!
