Review: Sweet Victory by Ember Casey

One night. One game. One wicked experience they’ll never forget…

It’s Lily and Calder’s first night in their new apartment—and Calder proposes a steamy showdown that’s certain to leave both of them breathless. In a challenge like this, things are sure to get heated—but neither of them can be prepared for the surprises that await them as their ultimate game unfolds

4.5 Star Review by Alison East

Note to self- always read Ember's books, no matter what. They could be about a legion of supernatural dinosaurs taking over the world and I would still read it.

Sweet Victory was a fantastic novella and everything I would want from a short story. It was sweet, sassy, (mixed with a little drama to set up for Louisa's book (Calder's sister)), and to the point.

It shows how Calder and Lily are surviving living together and again involves them playing a game. It shows the difficult predicament that couples sometimes get into when having to move in together.

Each book Ember has written involves a sort of game, and I love it. With His Wicked games, there was a bunch of games centered around them getting to know each other and awakening Lily's sexual being as well as Calder's. In Truth or dare, another type of game- more of a getting to know each other game, that definitely had its crazy moments. And in Sweet Victory another game to guess what kind of present Calder has gotten for Lily.

With every wrong guess, however, there was a consequence that Calder got to pick. And with every right guess Lily got a clue.

We get to meet Louisa- ah the elusive sister who ran half way across the world after their father's death. And it introduces her in not such a great light to be honest. But I am interested to see how Ember paints her in her very own story, it's going to be a two-book spin-off series called Her Wicked Heart. (the first book will also be called Her Wicked Heart and the second book is Lost and Found)

Congrats on another fantastic book Ember!!
