Blog Tour: Four Years Later by Monica Murphy

FOUR YEARS LATER Synopsis:

New Adult bestselling author Monica Murphy winds up her sensational series with this sexy story of two college kids with nothing in common but a bunch of baggage and a burning attraction.

Over. That about sums up everything in my life. Suspended from my college football team and forced to cut back my hours at The District bar because of my crappy grades, I can’t keep turning to my sister, Fable, and her pro-football playing husband, Drew, to bail me out. I just can’t seem to find my own way. Weed and sex are irresistible temptations—and it’s messed up that I secretly hand over money to our junkie mom. A tutor is the last thing I want right now—until I get a look at her.

Chelsea is not my type at all. She’s smart and totally shy. I’m pretty sure she’s even a virgin. But when she gives me the once over with those piercing blue eyes, I’m really over. But in a different way. I won’t deny her ass is killer, but it’s her brain and the way she seems to crave love—like no one’s ever given her any—that make me want her more than any girl I’ve ever met. But what would someone as seemingly together as her ever see in a screwed up guy like me?

4 star review by Jen Skewes

We first met Owen in Drew and Fable's story. Owen is Fable's younger brother who she practically raised on her own when their mother, who is a drug addict, decided to just pick up and leave her kids behind.  she was never much of a mother even before that always looking for her next fix.  Owen is all grown up now and in college.  But he is having some issues of his own.  Since Drew came into his life he has always looked up to him and has wanted to be a football star just like Drew.  Owen is currently on his college football team but his position on the team is in jeopardy unless he can pull up his grades.  He is also in danger of failing.  For the most part Owen occupies his time with works, weed and woman.  While his sister and brother-in-law have more money than they could have imagined, Owen sill continues to work to pay for things on his own without having to ask for anything from his sister.  But he is working ay to many hours and not concentrating on school like he should be.  His counselor tells him that he needs to start tutoring sessions in order to pass his classes.  Something that Owen has not time for or thinks he needs.  That's where he meets Chelsea, sweet innocent Chelsea.

Chelsea is a shy and innocent girl.  She is also very smart and when she was younger skipped a few grades.  So she is a junior in college but only 19 years old.  She never felt like she fit in with anyone.  She also has her own issues with her family.  Her father cheated on her mother multiple times and every time he sweet talks his way back into her life.  Her father has recently atoned them and she wants nothing to do with him.  You could say she had issues trusting men.  When she meets Owen for the first time things don't go so well.  Owen does;t want to be there and Chelsea knows his type.  But the one thing that they can't deny is the attraction that they have for each other.

As time goes on Owen realizes that his life is going in a coward spiral.  He wants to be a beer person.  He wants to stay on the football team, kick the weed habit and pass his class.  He wants to do it for himself as well as few and Fable and even Chelsea.  He continues his tutoring see ions with Chelsea and the spark between them is still there.  Chelsea is not his type at all vey different from the girls he usually dates.  Actually before Chelsea he ever really dated.  He was a one night stand type of guy.  But for Chelsea he wants to be different.  Chelsea and Owen's relationship goes beyond their tutoring sessions and also become more than just friends.  Bu Owen is hiding something, not just from Chelsea but from Fable as well.  His mother has been back in his life and if Fable finds out it could certainly cause a strain on their relationship. And Owen is afraid if Chelsea finds out what has been going on with he is mother that she will think less of him and he will lose her.  What happens when the truth comes out?

I really enjoyed this book and loved Owen and Chelsea together.  I think they were the perfect match.  I loved Owen and loved seeing him all grown up. He has his issues that he has to face and deal with.  He was so sweet and lovable when it came to Chelsea.  I loved that we still saw Fable and Drew and their happily ever after.  I loved Fable and loved how quickly she accepted Chelsea.  I also love Drew and how much he is three for Owen. I love this series and I am sad to see it end.
