Blog Tour: Never Me by Kate Stewart

Synopsis:

I was a thief of men…a whore.
Not the conventional type that got paid for sex. I was the girl you talked about in your sad inner circle. The girl you shielded your boyfriend from as you cleverly covered him with your body when I came near.
I was a threat to you.
Keeping him safe in your grasp was smart.
One week...one incredible week was all it took to forever change me.
I was NEVER going to be you … until I met HIM

4 Star Review By Jen Skewes

Nadine is a whore.  Not the kind that gets paid for sex, but the one who has sex with men for the sport of it.  She is the woman who has sex with another woman's man.  She knows she is the reason why some relationships end but she doesn't care.  Finding a man who she knows is with someone else and inviting them to be with her for one night is all part of the thrill.  She doesn't do relationships, she doesn't even date.  She has sex with a guy once and never sees him again, no matter how many times they come back looking for more.  One day she decides to take a spur of the mount trip with her best friend.  A way to just go away and escape.  There is a part of her that is tired of her routine and the way she lives her life.  Not that she is looking for love or a boyfriend.  But maybe try to be a little bit better.  While on her trip she meets Spencer, the man who forever change her.

Spencer is on a trip with his friends and when he sees Nadine he is attracted to her.  He knows her type and knows exactly what she does.  But he doesn't judge her but instead wants to get to know her.  They begin this game of cat and mouse.  Tempting each other back and forth only to pull away.  Who will win in the end?  Who will give in first?  But most importantly who will end up falling for who and will they get hurt because of it?

So I have to admit I was not a big fan of Nadine in the beginning.  I found it hard to connect with her and maybe it is because I didn't agree with her decisions.  I understood why she was the way she was.  But with Spencer things were different and she knew that.  But she still played some sort of game with him.  Trying to convince herself and him that it was nothing more than sexual attraction and never would be more. But as the story moved on and you see how much these two started to open up to each other and how much they started to "feel" for each other I liked her a little more.  She wanted to change and become a better person.  She wanted to leave her whore days behind her and move on.  So as time grew on I really started to like her and there were even times when I truly felt bad for her.

Spencer I just loved.  I think he knew and tried to understand Nadine and in ways accepted her for who she was.  But I also think he knew what was really beneath the appearance that she gives off as well.  He was sweet, funny and at the same time had some alpha male tendencies.  There was a moment between the two that just made me so sad and I just felt for them in that moment.  Spencer loved Nadine you could see that in his actions.  I wanted to see them find their happiness together.

Overall I really enjoyed Never Me.  It was a story about finding one's self.  Nadine wanted to be a better person and I admired her for that.  She deserved a happy life and deserved to experience love.  Wonderful job by Ms. Stewart.
