Blog Tour: A Perfect Ten by Linda Kage

A Perfect Ten
Forbidden Men # 5
By: Linda Kage
Releasing March 30th, 2015

Let your hair down, Caroline, they said. It'll be fun, they said.

I know I've closed myself off in a major way in the past year, ever since “the incident” where I messed up my life completely. It's past time I try to live again or just give up completely. But this is quite possibly the craziest thing I've ever done. In a last ditch effort to invigorate myself, I'm standing outside Oren Tenning's bedroom, I just peeled off the sexiest pair of underwear I own, and my hand is already raised to knock. My brother would disown me for doing anything with his best friend, and he'd probably kill Oren. But if I play my cards right, no one will ever know about this. Not even Ten.

Maybe after tonight, I’ll finally get over this stupid, irrational crush I hate having on the biggest jerk I’ve ever met. Or maybe I’ll just end up falling for him even harder. Maybe I’ll discover there’s so much more to my crude, carefree hunk than meets the eye.

5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

The Forbidden Men Series by Linda Kage is by far one of my favorite series.  When I first read Price of a Kiss I was in love, with the characters, the writing and the storyline.  From that moment Linda Kage became one of my “go to” authors.  I have loved each book in this series and I think they just keep getting better.  Yes I have always been a Mason Lowe girl but then Pick came along and now Ten.  You can see where I am going with this right?  Oren Tenning I was not so sure about you but after reading A Perfect Ten I just adore you.

Ten is…how can I even describe him?   He is a bit crude, says what he wants and does not care what anyone thinks.  He is a bit of a man whore and basically what you see is what you get.  I honestly was not sure how I would feel about him in this book.  Given his history with women I was a little nervous, to say the least.  But Oren Tenning completely surprised me.  The boy has a heart.  He also has a past that has led him to be the man whore that he is.  We learn a lot more about what happened and why he has never loved a woman or let anyone in.  But meeting Caroline Gamble changed all that for him, because she made him feel.  The only problem is that she is his best friend’s sister.  Ten has a reputation of being an ass but there is one thing that you can count on when it comes to him and that is loyalty.  As much as he wants Caroline, he made a promise.  His best friend Noel asked one thing of him and that was to stay away from his sister.  And Ten had every intention of keeping that promise.

Caroline had a tough childhood and past.  About a year ago her brother Noel stepped in and vowed to take care of her and their two younger brothers.  When her brother first rescued her she met his best friend Oren.    From the moment she met him she wanted him.  And yes she wanted him in a physical way but over the past year it has become so much more than that.  She is in love with Oren Tenning and she intends on doing something about it.  No matter what her brother says and how much Ten will deny her she will get her man.  And let me say that I loved the way these two got together.    But the biggest obstacle that they have to face is Noel Gamble.  Without Noel’s blessing they risk losing him in their life.  In order to find love it my means risking a friendship with his best friend.  Is love worth the risk of losing someone close to you?

Caroline and Oren could not be any more perfect for each other.  As mentioned earlier I wasn’t sure if I would like Ten or not just given what we saw of him in the previous books.  But I loved him.  He was loyal to those that he loved but what I absolutely loved was that he was still himself. He was still crude and may have said stupid things, or made some mistakes but he was always true to himself.  But everything about Ten that everyone else may have had issues with, is the exact reason why Caroline loved him, and the exact reason why I loved him as well.  That boy was sexy, adorable and funny all wrapped up in one.  I loved how much he loved and wanted to protect Caroline.  I loved watching this former man whore fall in love.

What made this story even better was the connection between Caroline and Ten.  There is no woman better for Ten than Caroline Gamble.  She knew how to handle him and in many ways was just like him. These two were meant to be together.  I loved how much she loved and adored her family, and I Ioved her friendship with Quinn.

This is definitely one of my favorites in this series.  As always Linda Kage managed to make me feel all of the feels.  I laughed with these characters, I cried and my stomach was in knots at some moments.  There is that moment where you just know that the shit is going to hit the fan.  And when it does I became so emotional.  Ten and Caroline had some obstacles that they needed to overcome.  Between Noel and Ten’s past, there were struggles.  At times my heart just broke for them and there were moments where I just hoped that everything would work out between these two.  You will fall in love with Ten.  We see the side that everyone gets but we also see the side that is loving, caring and protective.   I loved every minute of it and him.  And yes people I am claiming Oren “Ten” Tenning as mine!!

Linda Kage is an amazing writer who knows how to grab you with her stories right from the start.   I love the characters that she creates and the stories that she tells.  I want to be friends with them all.  Heck I feel like I already am, going through all of the important moments with them.  Laughing with them, crying with them and just feeling it all with them.  I love every one of her Forbidden Men and cannot wait to see whose story is next!!

The entire notion was crazy. I would never in a million years actually go through such a thing.
An hour later, thousands of voices in my head shrieked. “For the love of God, Caroline. What’re you doing?”
“Shh,” I hissed at the annoying shits. “I’m doing this.”
I slipped inside the front door to Quinn, Oren, and Zoey’s apartment. If anyone caught me, I already had an excuse handy. I was here to see Zoey. To talk important girl stuff. Yeah. That sounded good. And I really would talk to her if I was caught...about the fact that I’d lost my ever-loving mind!
Pausing at the beginning of the hall, I took a moment to bolster my nerve. Oren’s bedroom was the first door on the right. Only ten feet away. Drawing in a deep breath, I started to step forward when an idea hit me. Scrambling, I reached under my skirt for the panties I’d raced home to change into, and I peeled them down my legs.
I know, I know. They were the nicest underwear I owned. Why was I taking them off before he could even see the goods? Well, probably because, if we stayed in the dark like we were supposed to, he’d never see them anyway. And tonight, I just wanted to be bold and promiscuous. If I was really going to do this, I was going to do it right.
Pantyless, I stopped in front of his door and lifted my palm, but instead of knocking, I set my fingers against the wood. He was on the other side of this door, waiting for me.
Okay, fine, waiting for some other girl. But if I knocked and went inside, it’d be me he took.
A thrill raced up my spine, and butterflies danced in my stomach.
I knocked
