Review: War Torn by Andria Large

My life has been completely turned around with the help of my boyfriend and best friend, Tucker.

My depression is under control.

I’m not having nightmares or flashbacks anymore.

My sister is having a baby.

Life with Tucker is great…

Or is it? Everything seems to be going so well, almost too well.

You know how people say that the best things in life are worth fighting for? Well, I believe that with my whole heart. But how do you fight for something when it gets ripped away from you? Just…torn right out of your hands, leaving you with nothing. You would think that losing my wife was the worst thing that could happen to me.

Warning: This book is for mature audiences only. Adult content and explicit M/M sex scenes. This is also a cliffhanger, so be prepared!

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes

I just love Dennis and Tucker. I loved how they found each other and went from being best friends to lovers.  I could not wait to see how things would work out for the two of them.  War Torn is the second installment in this series and Oh My God did Andria Large put me through the ringer with this one.  She killed me in a way I was not expecting and left me wondering how she will manage to put my heart back together again.

I won't say much about this story because I want you to experience the ups and downs with this couple for yourself. Tucker and Dennis were best friends who were both suffering from PTSD from being at war.  But they soon found comfort in each other in a way that neither one of them ever expected. They have both considered themselves to be heterosexual men until their feelings for each became more than that of a friend.  Their attraction and love towards each other grew into this beautiful and amazing relationship that they now have. They are not only best friends but lovers as well and they could not be more perfect for each other.

This installment is about the ups and downs of their relationship.  They have obstacles that they both have to face and need to be able to face them together.  At times you are not sure how this story will go and I found myself reading as fast as I could wondering what would happen next.  Things aren't easy for them. They have been through so much, both separately and together.  But as long as they have each other it should all work out?  Right?

I loved he emotions that this book brought out in me. I can't tell you how much I love Denny and Tucker.  Their love is just so deep and so real. I feel their connection, their hurt and pain as well as their happiness.  They are each other's life and exactly what they needed.  But sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you find that your love is being tested.    And you have to decide if your love is strong enough to survive it all.  Their love and relationship is put to the test and you will find yourself hoping that love will prevail in the end.  Because they deserve the happiness more than anyone.

I loved everything about this book but there is one person in particular that plays such an important role in Denny and Tucker's life and that is Duke.  He and tucker have been friends but as Dennis and Duke spend more time together they begin to confide in each other and become close friends as well. I loved Duke and hope that he gets his own book

Another amazing job by Ms. Large.  I've said it before and I will say it again, Andria Large has this amazing ability to write a MM story that just captures you from the start.  Not only is she writing one male point of view but two and the way she makes you feel with these characters, and fall in love with them just proves what an amazing writer she really is.  She knows how to give us a romance between two men that is not only HOT but emotional.  This is a beautiful series and I am patiently waiting for the third book.  Ok that's a lie I'm really not being that patient because I need the final installment now!  I need to know how this will all work out.  I need more of Denny and Tucker!  Great Job!!
