SYNOPSIS
She was forbidden.
I didn’t care.
As my best friend’s little sister, Macey Hale was
off-limits, but the girl was tempting as sin and forbidden as fuck. I wish I
could say that stopped me. I wish I could tell you I behaved like a gentleman.
I didn’t.
When she waltzes back into my life with that same spark I
fell for, looking every bit the beautiful woman I knew she’d grow into, I have
to force myself to remember I’m different from the man she once knew. I’m
colder. Harder. And for good reason.
With my heart on lockdown and my hands aching to touch her,
I set out to prove that I can keep myself in check this time.
No strings. No attachments.
And definitely no falling for her again.
If you love steamy romance, you won't want to miss this
older brother's best friend romance.
This is book two in
the Lessons with the Dom series, following The Gentleman Mentor. Both are
complete standalone novels featuring sexy Dominant men you're sure to fall in
love with. Enjoy!
4 Star Review by Lisa Kane
Reece fell in love with Macey Hale when he was 19 and she was 16. Of course the fact that she was his best friend Cameron's younger sister didn't help take away his guilt. He hated hiding things from Cameron, but there was no way he would have accepted anything going on between them. As much as he wanted Macey, he would only go so far and his rule-panties stay on-was one he wouldn't break.
Of course, my best friend, Hale, doesn't know any of this because it ended when she went away to college. It had to. Macey was always destined for more, and leaving was exactly what she needed, even if she took a part of me with her.
Six years later, he owns Crave, the hottest BDSM club in town. Hale, Macey's brother is one of the Doms there. He's built his life on control for a certain reason and he keeps that control over his work, over his subs, over his life at all costs. But seeing Macey again, all grown up, after all these years is making him lose control.
She's standing here as if she didn't shatter my entire world six years ago.
Macey's life is falling apart. Her job at a Latino television station ended, as did her relationship with her live in boyfriend, Tony, when she found him with his tongue down their landlady's throat. She packed up and moved to be near her brother-and Reece. She googled Reece's name and her eyes might just have popped out when she found out what kind of business he owned. He never displayed any Dom tendencies or had a need to control when they were together, so she's surprised at the way things turned out.
When Macey explains she needs sex, hot, dirty sex and she needs it from his club, Reece is all over the place. Of course a certain part of his anatomy is rock hard, but his brain seems to be turning to mush. No way will someone else from Crave touch Macey. She is his for the taking! There are so many things left unsettled between these two, but both moved on from their youthful relationship. Did they miss their chance?
A real Dominant isn't concerned with his own needs. He puts his partner's well-being and satisfaction above his own. I never did that with Macey. I was so worried about getting hurt again, I closed myself off. She was right-I treated her like any other sub, only worse.
Reece makes some serious mistakes with Macey. He goes against the advice of his close friends and thinks he can protect himself from feeling too much with her, but pushes her away in the process.
"I've known you for years, Reece. I've listened to the rumors, I've watched you take subs into your private room. In all that time you've never once asked for my help. But then suddenly you did, and I knew Macey was different. Just like that. I could see it in the way you looked at her, in the careful way you were with her. It wasn't a game to you. You touched her like her skin was something to be worshipped, like her body the most precious thing to you. And you looked like you wanted to murder me when I touched her. This girl means something to you. Don't try to deny it."
"She did. A long time ago. Not now. Not anymore."
And that is the real problem, I wanted to knock some sense into Reece and tell him to focus on the present with Macey and to stop living in the past, but I guess he just had to figure it out for himself!
I'm loving this series-next up is Oliver's story.

EXCERPT:
“What do you think you’re doing?” I find her in my closet,
down on her knees and rummaging through a black duffel bag that just happens to
hold all my sex toys. Apparently she did see this when she cleaned up.
“Ah, here we go.” Her fingers close around a generously
sized flesh-colored vibrating dildo. “You won’t do the job? Well, I have a
feeling this baby will.” She waves it in the air like she’s found the damn
golden ticket. Then she rises to her feet and smiles sweetly at me.
For the love of God, this woman does not fight fair. She
never has. “Where do you think you’re going with that?”
“Probably my bed, then the shower.” A line creases her
forehead. “Do you have spare batteries for this thing? It might be a long
night.”
“No way. Not happening. Give me the toy, Macey.” I reach out
a hand, my voice as stern as the set of my jaw, my fingers barely avoiding
crushing the crystal tumbler in my other hand.
A slow smile uncurls on her mouth. “Why, Reece Jackson, are
you jealous?” She eyes the toy in her hand and then lets her gaze slip
seductively down to the crotch of my pants.
If she really thinks that toy’s size has me feeling
insecure, she’s insane. Certifiably. “You really don’t remember, do you?” Now
I’m the one smiling. She’ll be in for a pleasant surprise later.
“I remember everything. I remember how you always made me
keep my underwear on, and that I never actually saw you”—her gaze flicks
downward—”down there. I only felt you with my hand, and since I had nothing to
base it on, I assumed all guys were like that.”
“Well, in that case, you’ll be sorely disappointed with this
toy.” I snatch the dildo from her hand and toss it back in the open bag.
“What do you think you’re doing?” she asks, planting a hand
on her hip. “You left me hanging at the restaurant.”
“And you will stay like that until I say so.”
Loved this book!
