Blog Tour: Green Eyes by Amanda Heath

Title: Green Eyes

My name is Alexis Michaels and my life is pretty lonely. Don’t feel sorry for me, I’ve made it that way.
Ten years ago my family did things to lose my trust and stomped all over my love. If I never see any of them again it’ll be too soon. Bitterness and betrayal make me a very angry girl.
Five years ago I made a horrible mistake when I fell in love with the wrong man. I also got pregnant and had the most beautiful baby girl in the world. I’m terrified every day that my actions could come back to haunt me and she’ll have to pay the price.
Now I’m on the set of the first movie I’ll have filmed since I got pregnant. My leading man is a sexy asshole named Ryan Danse. Our chemistry is out of this world. We’re sure to make movie gold. The Australian actor makes me feel things I don’t want to feel. I’ve closed my heart off from the world and I refuse to open it ever again. That only leads to ultimate heartbreak.
Ryan’s connected though, connected to my family. I just know if I open my heart to him, I’ll have to let them in as well. It’s hard to keep myself closed off from him when he looks at me with those intense blue eyes.
Maybe I’m too hard, maybe I’m just a bitch, but forgiving a decade-old hurt I’ve left open, bleeding and infected, isn’t something I’m willing to do just because I love the way his hands feel on my body or the way he calls me green eyes.
I find myself wanting to tell him my secrets. I crave the touch of his hands. I long for his eyes to fall upon me and all that other mushy crap. I’m so obsessed I might do just about anything to have the love of this man.

I love a Hollywood romance. Maybe because TMZ is my crack and I love to follow who's dating who; who's cheating and who is getting caught. So Green Eyes is my kind of book.

Alexis Michaels has been in seclusion for the last five years. Her constant companions are her daughter Talia and her bodyguard Marley.

My name is Alexis Michaels and my life is pretty lonely. Don't feel sorry for me. I've made it that way. Ten years ago my family did things to lose my trust and stomped all over my love. If I never see any of them again it'll be too soon.

Her therapist thinks she needs to get out of her rut and take on new projects. Her agent is thrilled and lines up an audition for a script which actually interests her. The only drawback is the actor playing the lead is Ryan Danse and he is best friends with Jason. Ten years ago, Alexis' dad suffered from dementia. His children-Jason, Beau and Claire pretty much deserted Alexis to follow their dreams. She was 16  and totally alone in caring for her dying father. They sent money but never did anything to help her. She has never forgiven them for what she sees as their betrayal.

Marley and I have dubbed my daddy's other children as the BlackSheeps. It has several meanings. One being that they have black hearts, two being that they are exiled from my family of three (Marley, Talia and me) and three being that they are sheep, just like everyone else in LA.

After Alexis' father passed, she fell into acting. She was hugely successful and things were going great until she fell pregnant. She has never revealed who Talia's father is and she hides her out of the public's eye. There is a reason for all the secrecy, but she is lonely and wants to act again.

Her biological father isn't dead, if that's what you're thinking.

Her first meeting with the Aussie hunk is full of chemistry. Their reading together more than proves that they have a connection which carries over to the big screen. Each knows the other's history with her family.

As they begin to work together, both fight what they feel. Ryan is torn because Jason is like his brother and he doesn't understand why Alexis has refused the many olive branches they keep extending to make amends. Their actions cut her to the deep and scarred her ability to trust. He's also just gotten out of a long term relationship and he isn't looking to jump right back into another one.

Yeah, I might fuck her up against my couch, but I'd never let her in my heart. I won't make the same mistake I did with Cassie.

But once they give in to their feelings, things are not so black and white and Alexis comes face to face with Jason. Things are not what they seem and Alexis is slowly thawing. Meanwhile things couldn't be hotter between her and Ryan, but of course the path to true love has to have some bumps right?

That's the problem with relationships. You think you're about to be in one, and then the man shows his true colors.

Scheming exes, secrets that could destroy and old grudges make for a great Hollywood story. It's been a while since Ms. Heath released a book and this one is well worth the read!

Then we drive off into the sunset hand in hand.

I live in southern Arkansas with my husband and young daughter. There is also an insane Boston Terrier running around. I've always been a lone wolf and find my friends in books. I started writing at a young age and I haven't stopped since. Most days you can find me either glued to my laptop or my kindle. My first novel, This Beautiful Thing was an Amazon best seller for 11 weeks and a year later I'm still tickled to see people enjoy it. I may not be a huge seller but I have the best fans ever and I thank God everyday for every single one of them.
