Blog tour: Interview with James and Bianca from Grounded by R.K. Lilley

Lisa, Jennifer and I climb out of the cab and look up at the beautiful building not far from Central Park. One of the members of James’ security team, Clark, greets us in the lobby and escorts us up to his penthouse. When we arrive at the door it opens and standing in the entry are James and Bianca. Both are breathtakingly gorgeous. James walks towards us with his hand extended. "Welcome to our home, I’m James Cavendish and this is Bianca." Lisa extends her hand and introduces us, "I’m Lisa and this is Jennifer and Kristie, we’re the Three Chicks. James, thank you so much for having us here." James acknowledges this and says while he is turning, "Please follow me ladies." He slows down his pace as we walk through the opulent space, making a point of showing some of Bianca’s works which line the walls. As he points them out we all look over to Bianca and she blushes, still uncomfortable with compliments. We quickly follow him as his gives us a rather rushed tour but we still have time to observe the modern sleek, gray wood lining the floor and the incredible view that overlooks Central Park. (how can you miss it the entire wall is a window!) Kristie turns to Lisa and Jennifer and silently mouths the word WOW. Then we turn and see a very intimidating dining room with a wonderful looking spread displayed on it, it also appears this is where we will be conducting the interview. "Please ladies, have a seat and have something to eat,"James says, as he pulls out a chair for Bianca. “Thanks, let’s get started”, Kris says.

Three Chicks:  James, you certainly make an excellent Dom-do you think you are an equally excellent partner in your relationship with Bianca?

James:  *He shifts, straightening his tie.*  Not yet. I’m working on it. Relationships are more complicated than I’d realized, but I’m getting better at...compromising.

Three Chicks:  Bianca, James came on quite strong at your first few meetings, what do you think made you overcome your initial fears of him and finally submit?

Bianca:  *Biting her lip, she shoots James a rather hooded look*  I was attracted, of course, but it also made me feel brave to submit to him, which I think I needed. That, combined with his persistence, became irresistible to me. He became irresistible.

Three Chicks:  James, in the beginning, when you were enlisting Stephan’s help in getting into Bianca’s good graces, did you genuinely like Stephan, or was it more of needing an ally? How do you think of him now?

James:  I’ve always liked him. Well, almost always. Let me rephrase. From the time I realized he was Bianca’s closest friend, and not her boyfriend, I’ve liked him. He’s just one of those people. It’s impossible not to like him. He’s the best guy in the world. It’s that simple. I’d do anything for him.

*Bianca looks at him like he’s just said the sweetest thing in the world*

Three Chicks:  Bianca, why were you so reluctant to go to the police about your father?

Bianca:  Fear. The kind of fear that it’s hard to put into words. In my mind, he had become a force that was stronger than the police, and so, though I knew logically that they could help me, I couldn’t make myself really believe it. I couldn’t control my...terror. I tried to go report him just a few years ago, but I had a panic attack while we were driving there. I’m ashamed to admit that I gave up after that.

Three Chicks:  James, why was it so important to have Bianca wear your collar? Have you “collared” any other subs in your past?

James:  This will sound strange, but the collar is more symbolic than anything. It’s just how I’m wired. It brings me a sense of relief when I see her wearing it. The collar means something very serious to those of us that live the lifestyle. It is a promise between a Dom and a sub. It is a commitment. And I love the sight of it on her neck. And, no, I’ve never collared anyone else, never even considered it.

Three Chicks:  Bianca, do you think if you hadn’t met James, the sub in you would have still come out with another lover? (Lisa looks over at James as his eyes narrow)

Bianca:  * blushes* It’s impossible to say for sure, but I find it unlikely.  I can’t imagine there are many men in the world as determined as James, and it took a lot of of persistence on his part to even find me again after our first, chance meeting.

Three Chicks:  James, you seem to be quite at ease during photo shoots, ever thought about becoming a model? (Jen giggles.)

James:  No. I’d go crazy in a week. Too much downtime.

Three Chicks:  This question is for the both of you.  What is your favorite place to make love- that doesn’t involve horses?

James:  Our bedroom in Vegas.  That was where we made love the first time.

Bianca:  The fourth floor.  *sounding very sure*

James:  Yes.  *he smiles* That too

Three Chicks:  James, what made you have Bianca’s face tattooed on your back-we can see her name over your heart- or something a little more discreet, but her whole face??? That’s quite a statement!

James:  It was exactly that. A statement. A mission statement, if you will.  *He grins*  She wasn’t taking me seriously, so I got desperate. I was looking for a way to prove to her that I wanted something permanent, so I did something permanent. And I adored that painting. Was it rash? Yes. But I’ve never regretted it, not for a second.”

Three Chicks:  Bianca, why do you think that the paparazzi have been so vicious to you?

Bianca:  This is just speculation, but I think it makes for a better story if I’m some kind of a villain. I guess that’s also easier than admitting that they’ve been making up stories about James and Jules for years.

Three Chicks:  James, what do you think your life would be like had you not met Bianca?

James:  Empty. It was empty for a long time before I met her, so I know that for a fact. Meaningless. Pointless. Joyless

Three Chicks:  Bianca, what do you think would have happened to you had you not had Stephan in your life?

Bianca:  I’d be dead, or worse, alive and wishing that I was. That’s not an exaggeration. It is a fact. He saved my life. He saved my soul.

Three Chicks:  James, why do you call Bianca’s paintings, “dreams in her eyes”?

James:  She can be a hard woman to read. She’s very stoic at first glance.  She can hide a lot of what she’s thinking, but when she’s painting, it’s all out there in the open. Her face softens, and her eyes become mesmerizing, like she’s seeing into a different world, a better world. If I could spend the rest of my days watching her like that, I’d be content.

Three Chicks:  What is your favorite thing about each other?

James:  The way she looks at me.  It makes me feel invincible.

Bianca:  The way he loves me.  It makes me feel cherished.

Three Chicks:  This question is for both of you.  Is there one thing that could break the two of you up?

Bianca:  Infidelity

James:   *gives her a stern look*   That would never happen. I’d like to give the same answer, but if I’m honest, I think I could forgive her even that. It would kill me, but I wouldn’t give up on us.

"Thank you so much for having us over, your home is gorgeous and Bianca, you truly are a very talented artist," Lisa says, while shaking their hands goodbye. As they walk us to the door James says, "My driver will be taking the three of you to Red, one of my clubs. Please enjoy yourselves, compliments of the two of us. Make sure to try a Black Raspberry Martini, they’re Red’s signature cocktail.  The three of us drop our jaws, shocked briefly. Lisa asks quickly with a hopeful smile on her face, "Will the two of you be joining us?"  They both shake their heads no and apologize. Kristie clears her throat and says, "Thank you James and Bianca, that sounds fun and delicious, this is kind of you and we're very grateful. At the door the security guard is there waiting for us. We say our goodbyes, head for the lobby and get in James's car. Once in the car Jennifer looks over at us and says, "That place was like a museum, I was afraid to breathe on anything." "I know right?" Kristie says in agreement. “That was a great interview, now let's go and have some fun." We all laugh and enjoy the ride to Red.....
