Review by Lisa Kane

Cute, short read following up on Katy and Richard from The Contract. He had transformed from a hard nosed, arrogant ass to a good guy madly in love with his assistant.

In truth, although chronologically I had seven years on top of her twenty-six, she was far wiser than I would ever be.

The Baby Clause starts out with Richard rushing to Katy’s side as she is in labor with their first baby.

“Katy’s gone into labor.” I was on my feet, rushing out of the restaurant without another thought.

The story follows baby Van Ryan’s birth and follows all the early stages-lots of diaper explosions and projectile vomiting. Richard is handling it all like a pro. He is so in love with his baby. He is a far cry from that pompous asshat he once was!

The cold- hearted man I first knew was gone and replaced by this protector who would do anything to care for his child. To care for me.

Excerpt

I slipped out of bed and padded across the hall, stopping in
the doorway. My chest tightened at the sight before me.

Richard, tall, broad, and bare chested, cradling his
daughter close, and dancing with her. She was tucked high on his chest, with his
cheek resting on her head. Her tiny hand was encased inside his, and he held
her protectively. No doubt his humming was soothing to her, rumbling through
his chest and lulling her into peace.

Tears filled my eyes watching them. The cold-hearted man I first
knew was gone and replaced by this protector who would do anything to care for
his child. To care for me.

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.

He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.

When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.

You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.

He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.

Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.

Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.

Oops. My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.

I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?

That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.

Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.

I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.

Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

Release Blitz: Plight by KM Golland

Title: Plight
Author: K.M. Golland
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: May 29, 2017

Blurb

Plight
[plahyt]
Noun: a difficult, or otherwise unfortunate
situation.
Verb: pledge or solemnly promise. Be engaged to be
married.

I promised
myself to a man. Well, technically, I promised myself to a boy. We were eight
years old. Neighbours. He gave me a Cheezel, pushed it onto my finger, and
asked me to marry him.
I ate the
Cheezel.
I also
said, “Yes” but that we’d have to wait until we were thirty.
It was my
thirtieth birthday last week and now he’s calling in that promise.
Seriously,
Elliot Parker is insane if he thinks
that an out of the blue private Facebook message stipulating the binding law of
an oral contractual agreement is going to seal our twenty-two-year bullshit
engagement.
Insane.
I wonder if
he really does look like his profile picture, though.

Review by Lisa Kane

Danielle Cunningham is one week past her thirtieth birthday. She is reminded of that fact when she receives a private Facebook message from Elliot Parker, an old friend she has not heard from in seventeen years. When they were kids, they were promised to each other, he put a Cheezel on her finger (think a cheese puff but shaped like a ring) and the deal was sealed. Now Elliot has come to collect.

Elliot Parker is insane if he thinks that a private Facebook message stipulation the binding law of an oral contractual agreement is going to seal our twenty-two year bullshit deal. In.Sane.

Years have gone by. Years without a word from Elliot.

We hadn’t so much as spoken to each other in seventeen years when he moved houses and we went our separate ways, so his message had come out of nowhere.

There are lots of witty messages exchanged. It seems Elliot is a lawyer and is coming back home to work on a gardening project. When they were kids, a neighbor saved them from flash floods and a memorial garden was planted in his honor. However, over the years, it has been neglected and in danger of being filled in. He has gotten a stay from the courts to give the towns people a chance to clean it up and restore it to its original beauty. So he’s actually coming into town for a reason-not to marry Danielle!

The truth is Elliot has harbored feelings for Danielle since they were kids. It’s no hardship seeing her again. Sparks fly when they first lay eyes on each other after all these years.

Except Danielle had never been the girl of my dreams, she’d been the girl of my reality, my best friend and that was even better.

But the more time Danielle spends with Elliot, the more she realizes she has missed their friendship. She doesn’t want to cross over any lines and ruin things for them if it does not work out. Elliot doesn’t share those same concerns.

I’d only ever waited for her-twenty-two years, in fact.

How will Elliot get Danielle to see that they aren’t kids any longer, they are adults with adult feelings. Feelings that are genuine and should be given a chance to explore.

No, I’m just saying that you can’t be friends after you’ve been lovers. It never works out. I don’t want us to not be friends, Elliot. Ever.”

Elliot is a resourceful guy who knows what he wants, but will he be able to make Danielle see what is right in front of her?

”But you did give up,” I cried, letting it burst out of me.
“Yeah, I did, when I was a kid that didn’t know any better. But I’m an adult now, and I know that giving up on you was the single biggest regret of my life.”

Review by Jen Skewes

I loved this book.  If you have read Dishonorable, this is Damon and Lia's story. I could not wait to dive in and find out what was going on between them and how it would all end.  Would they somehow find their happiness together?

Lina was supposed to be in Chicago attending college but it wasn't where she wanted to be at that moment.  Honestly she wasn't really sure where she belonged.  She moved to New York in search of answers but did not tell anyone where she went.

In six months Damon Armado will be ordained.  He has been sent to New York for some business regarding the seminary.  But the person that sent him also did so for other reasons, which Damon is not aware of at first.  Damon has been studying to become a priest.  And in six months that is exactly where he is supposed to be.  So why does it seem like he is holding something back?  Because he is all though unaware of exactly what that is.  It has been about four years since he has seen Lina but when he enters a club and hears the music being played on the piano, he knows without having to even look at the person playing, that it is her.  Lina is the last person that he ever expected to run into.  she is supposed to be in Chicago.  after talking to her he knows that she is in trouble in some way, but she refuses to bring him into it, making it harder for him to help her.  But he is determined to find out what is going on and will protect her at all costs, but her safety is not the only issue that these two have.  they both need to come to terms with what is really going on between them.  the connection that they both feel but are afraid to admit.  Nothing can happen between them no matter what they feel, or can it?

I love Damon.  This man is a complete alpha male who needs to be in control and dominate Lina in more ways than one.  Let me just say there is no way that Damon Armado could ever be a priest.  He is too dirty and sexy for that.  That's all I can really say.  This man had me from the beginning and even when he was being an ass I still loved him.

Lina was the kind of girl who I really liked and admired in some ways.  She was certainly independent, I can say that much.  Her reasons for going to New York and keeping it a secret were certainly ones that I questioned.  But she went for a reason and she managed to protect herself until recently, when she found herself in even more danger.

disgraced is raw and gritty and I loved it.  This book is everything that I would expect from Ms. Knight.  The shocking moments where you are so afraid to look at your Ipad and continue reading, for fear of what will happen to the alpha men who want to dominate there women, to the hot and sexy moments.  I loved it and cannot wait for Zach's story next.  At least I am hoping he is next.

Release Blitz: All the Way by M.Mabie

all the way ebook

"I was going to keep my word, but I was also keeping her."—Cord Taylor

A contemporary romance with a mouthy redhead and a sexy, charming hero. Swoon. Laugh. Fall in love.
Blurb:

I’m a man’s man. A bro. A pal. A dude. And I love women.

Am I a saint? Far from it.

Do I go out with a lot of women? You’re damn right.

I date them all. Shy. Loud. Too busy. Lonely. High maintenance. No confidence. No filter. Bad habits. Naive. Beautiful ones. Pretty ones—and believe me there is a difference, but that’s another soap box. Point is, I don’t discriminate.

What do I get out of it? Knowledge. I want to be prepared, adept, and ready.

I might find the perfect woman for me today or a few years from now, but I won’t stop until I do. Then when The One comes along, I’ll be ready to go the distance.

Ready to go all the way.

I’m Cord Taylor, and, lady of my dreams, I’m coming for you.

3. 5 stars
Review by Lisa Kane

Cord Taylor is a successful thirty-two-year-old entrepreneur, a lady’s man and does not suffer from any self- esteem issues. He loves woman, loves having sex with them and chalks it all up to gaining experience for when he meets the “One”.

I enjoy making women feel beautiful and special. Not for sex or to gain some reputation, but because-when it all boils down- I don’t ever want to miss out on her.
The One.

Dana is sick of wasting her time on losers. She’s attracted to good looking bad boys, but those are the ones she should stay away from. She caught the guy she’d been dating for three months red handed. Cheating on her. She didn’t let him know she saw him, but he’s out of here.

I might have technically broken things off with Cameron, the Last Official Ken Doll, but I was still wearing last night’s dress, and she knew it.
Okay. Okay. I still slept with him. For old time’s sake. One for the road, as they say.

Dana is looking for her sister Jodi at the coffee shop where she works. She’s on the phone complaining about why she can’t meet a guy who can give her what she wants when Cord, who owns the shop, overhears her. Dana is gorgeous and sassy and Cord wants her. But they have a little run in, and she takes off. It’s not long before Cord finds out who she is. His best friend Reuben is marrying Dana’s best friend Becca. They are both going to be in the wedding. But Reuben warns Cord off of Dana-Becca doesn’t need the drama and Cord goes through women like water.

There’s sparks and chemistry and lust between these two-but things are kept on the down low. Is this all about hooking up or something more?

When I found the right girl, I’d always told myself I’d jump. Dive right in. That if it was right, I’d know. Then I’d do everything in my power to give her the best. That I’d be ready. I’d failed myself and Dana in the process.

I have to admit that I wasn’t crazy about either of these characters. Cord was too arrogant for me and Dana-I just never warmed up to her character. She wanted to meet a good, stable guy but she seemed to have a problem curbing her sexual impulses. But I am a huge fan of M. Mabie’s so I wouldn’t hesitate to read her next release.

“I never said anything to you that I didn’t mean.”

Review: Loving Jade by Roya Carmen

I never thought I’d be able to leave Michael, but I finally worked up the courage. I’m not sure where I’m heading but I feel safe here with the Riverstones. This place is lovely and serene. There is so much beauty and love here.

Yet, I still don’t feel free – I know Michael will find me. It’s just a matter of time.

Love is the last thing I’m looking for, but Flynn is such a beautiful man, inside and out. He makes me believe that I can be stronger, that I can be fierce. He believes he can fix me with equine therapy but he has no clue how much damage has been done.

Yet, somehow, he manages to get through to me. With patience, love and understanding, he slowly peels off the hard layers of self-doubt and fear that have held me captive all these years.

Just as I finally start to get stronger, Michael tracks me down and sends us all into turmoil, and threatens not only me but the family I’ve come to love.

3.5 stars
Review by Lisa Kane

Flynn Riverstone is the brother of Amber and Ruby, whose stories were the first two in the Riverstone Series. He works hard for the family business and he is a licensed Equine Assisted Therapist. He works with horses, and helps clients of all ages with stress, traumas, disorders, depression-issues that are severely affecting the quality of their lives. He is fiercely protective of his family and wouldn’t mind settling down himself if the right girl came along.

Jade has been married to Michael for years. He’s immensely successful with his medical cannabis business. He showers Jade with clothing and shoes and jewelry. But Michael has a temper and Jade usually bears the brunt of it. Each time he hits her she tells herself it will be the last time. But of course it’s not. She’s afraid to leave and be on her own.

But then what?
Where will I go?
Who will I be?
Who will love me?
Who will take care of me?

When she finally has had enough, she turns to her aunt for help. That’s how she ends up in the same time as the Riverstone family.
Jade is like a skittish colt and Flynn immediately senses something is off in this girl that he finds himself attracted to-he’s had enough experience to know when someone is hiding pain. Flynn may have helped out so many others in the past, but can he help Jade to heal? Where do things stand with Jade and Michael, after all, he still is her husband.

“Flynn Riverstone,” he says simply. Not terse, not friendly, just matter-of –fact. But I’m glad to hear it-he’s the brother, the brother I know absolutely nothing about.

Loving Jade concludes the series about the Riverstone family. The ending of this one felt a little rushed to me. While I love a book with angst, this one had a dose of that but things were a little too sweet for me throughout most of the story. I like the hero to be a bit more alpha than Flynn. I have to admit that Amber surprised me and not in a good way. When things got tough, she suddenly became a different person. She had a family to worry about, but she had no problem kicking Jade to the curb. It may not have been her finest moment. Despite this, I can say overall, I did enjoy the series.

I shouldn’t need him so badly. I shouldn’t need anyone.
But I do.

Each story is intertwined with the lives of the three siblings. While they can be read as stand alones, it is better to read them in order, so you have a better understanding of the history of each of the characters and the choices they made. I’m looking forward to seeing what Ms. Carmen has in store for us with her next book!

Only one question comes to mind as his sweet lips press against mine.

How did I ever get so lucky?
