About BECOMING RAIN

Becoming RainLuke Boone doesn't know exactly what his uncle Rust is involved in but he wants in on it—the cars, the money, the women. And it looks like he's finally getting his wish. When Rust hands him the managerial keys to the garage, they come with a second set—one that opens up the door to tons of cash and opportunity. Though it's not exactly legal, Luke's never been one to worry about that sort of thing. Especially when it puts him behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 and onto the radar of gorgeous socialite named Rain. Clara Bertelli is at the top of her game—at only twenty-six years old, she's one of the most successful undercover officers in the Washington, DC, major crime unit, and she's just been handed a case that could catapult her career and expose one of the West coast's most notorious car theft rings. But, in order to do it, she'll need to go deep undercover as Rain Martines. Her target? The twenty-four-year-old nephew of a key player who appears ready to follow in his uncle's footsteps. As Clara drifts deeper into the luxurious lifestyle of Rain, and further into the arms of her very attractive and charming target, the lines between right and wrong start to blur, making her wonder if she'll be able to leave it all behind. Or if she'll even want to.   And don’t forget BURYING WATER, the first book in this thrilling series…

4 Stars!

Review by Allison East

I have loved KA Tucker since she wrote Ten Tiny Breaths. She has a way with words that takes her readers on an emotional journey. And I absolutely love it! The main character in this novel was introduced in Burying Water- he is the best friend of Jesse. But this book goes a bit deeper than the first, and I absolutely fell in love with the characters!

Luke's uncle runs some businesses; one is an underground car ring. Luke is only twenty four and he has no idea what his uncle is doing. He wants to make his way in the world, but if he knew it was by illegal means I'm not sure he would like that.  I really enjoyed Luke and his character- I thought he showed some growth over the course of the story.

Clare is an undercover agent- playing the part of Rain, who is a rich girl that lives next to Luke. She needs to get close to Luke to get information to bring the ring down. She wants so badly to work for the FBI, and this case might springboard her to getting there. They have a strong attraction toward one another- and when the lines blur- it starts to take on a forbidden type of romance.

The story goes back and forth from both their POV's -a bonus for the readers. I enjoy getting into the minds of both characters- it's refreshing to see the male POV written so well. But I did get nervous, SO nervous at what was going to happen when reality came crashing down. I loved the romance part of the story- but the suspense is what drove me to keep reading.

I didn't know which way it was going to go! I was torn and on the edge of my seat the entire time, as I always am with KA's stories. There are some cameos from the first book, I loved getting to visit with Alex and Jesse again. I hope there are more stories in this series because I can't wait to see what happens next!

Burying Water  About BURYING WATER: The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away. Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him? Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried. The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

Review: A Love Called Simon by Sandi Lynn

No more men.
No more rich men.

That was what I vowed when I left New York and moved to Seattle until I met Simon Young, CEO of Young International, one of the largest luxury hotel chains in the world. He desired me and I let him. I was fully aware of his love for women and his hatred for relationships but I decided to play his game. I had a void that needed to be fulfilled and Simon Young was the man who could do it. Entering into a physical relationship only was the plan. No strings and no emotions allowed. But plans are made to be changed and rules are meant to be broken. We grew closer and I was falling in love, but Simon had a secret. A secret that would destroy everything. He was about to lose me and I was willing to walk away.

4 Steamy Stars

Review by Lisa Kane

Gabby has been with the same rich loser boyfriend for 6 years, Brendon Sommers. On a plane ride home from Vegas (where he virtually ignored her to party with his friends) he refuses to help her with her suitcase in the overhead compartment.

"It's your shit. Not mine. You were the one who did all the shopping, so deal with it."
"You're an ass."
"And you're a bitch."

But across the aisle is a gorgeous gentleman who doesn't hesitate to help her. Gabby can't help but give him covert glances; he is not only beautiful but made such an impression on her. When the flight is over, he makes sure to let her pass in front of him in the aisle, but cuts off Brendon.

Gabby's troubles are just starting. She ends up getting laid off from her marketing job and her douche bag boyfriend gives her quite the shock. She makes up her mind to leave and go to Seattle where her best friend, Giana lives.

Giana is thrilled to have her stay, she was not a fan of Brendon's. But she has her own hands full; she's been seeing a married guy, Donovan, but is convinced he's going to leave his wife. Giana drags Gabby to a charity event and low and behold, the gorgeous airplane man is there. But he's not alone. Gabby has had enough of rich men thinking they can play women for fools, so when he tries to make conversation with her, she cuts him off.

"I would like to know your name?" he asked in that sexy voice that I had longed to hear again.
"It's none of your business."

A job opportunity comes her way at Young International. She's shocked during her interview when the same mysterious man turns out to be the CEO of the company and finishes interviewing her. He is charming, and sexy and quite the flirt. He hires her on the spot.

Simon Young is dynamic, filthy rich and a player. He has a reputation for having women all over the world but it's a known fact he has no intentions of settling down. Gabby knows this, but can't help but fall under his spell.

He mesmerizes her with expensive dinners, a luxury car, a beautiful office, a high powered job and most of all his body. He makes no secret of the fact that he wants her in his bed. Gabby falls in a big way.

There is certainly the insta love element in this story, but if you keep in mind this is a fantasy about a multi millionaire ruthlessly pursuing a beautiful but scarred woman, the storyline works. Besides oodles of steamy sex, (with a little kink thrown in!) there is a secondary story for Giana and Donovan and their relationship. Throw in some stomach plummeting drama, secrets both Gabby and Simon are withholding and you will be furiously turning the pages.

Gabby frustrated me a few times in this book; she lets her insecurities and abandonment issues sway her relationship with Simon on more than one occasion. He is an Alpha to the max and must learn to compromise or he will lose her.

This is a slightly angsty story about second chances, real love and soul mates.

"You fill the void that's been inside me all these years."

4.5 Star Review Jennifer Hagen

I love hearing dual points of view.  Most of the time the alternating points of view occur in the same book; however, there have been times when an entire book has been published with just the separate male POV.  Some of these books are not my cup of tea – they are too repetitious and not enough new information and/or scenes have been added.  I can safely say that is not the case with “Thoughtful”…I feel like I have read an entirely new story.

We all loved Kellan in “Thoughtless” and wanted him to get the girl.  I’m not going to lie…it was painful reading how hurt he was with Kiera’s choices.  But along with that hurt, we are able to see the low self-esteem he continues to suffer from due to his parents’ lack of unconditional love towards him.  There were so many times his plight pulled at my heartstrings.

Kellan’s invitation to have Denny and Kiera stay with him is a ploy to curb the loneliness he suffers.  He doesn’t want to be alone and he surrounds himself with women to ensure his nights are filled with companionship.  There are no feelings towards any of these women, only a respite from the solitude that envelopes him.  Denny is like a brother to Kellan and throughout the book (even when things got a little sketchy between the 3 of them) I felt like Kellan was always seeking Denny’s approval on the accomplishments with his band and to be proud of how Kellan had managed to move on from his emotional-scarring past.  Kellan is not as well put together on the inside as the outside.  On the outside he is sexy, confident and is surrounded by people while on the inside he is broken, scared and missing a person to hold him up.

Whereas in “Thoughtless” I was not a fan of Kiera’s at all, through Kellan’s eyes I was able to see her as he saw her and then she didn’t bother me so bad.  I saw the same scared, insecure, going with the safe choice girl that Kellan saw.  Don’t get me wrong…I still hated what she was doing to him, but now I could understand her a little bit more.  The only thing worse than reading “Thoughtless” through Kiera’s eyes and having the angst meter jump sky high, was reading “Thoughtful” through Kellan’s eyes and having my heart squeezed and crushed.  This broke me into tiny little pieces…

I could still hear them f*cking upstairs.  There was no way in hell I was staying here, listening to that. Not after I’d had her.  Not after I’d figured out how much I loved her.  F*ck.  Pain tightened around my chest, making it harder to breathe, hard to think, hard to do anything.  I loved her so much, and she didn’t give a sh*t about me at all.  She didn’t want me.  No one wanted me.

Rereading that part makes me nauseated, sad, and irate all at the same time.  My heart was breaking simultaneously alongside Kellan’s.  But the one part that made my heart bleed shrapnel and shred me was the rain scene and the return to his house.

I didn’t want her to see me fall apart.  And I was going to fall apart…it was coming.  I was a heartbeat away from sobbing.

There are so many wonderful scenes in this book that makes the story come full circle.  I didn’t recall how many questions I had during “Thoughtless” until reading Kellan’s POV and then the light bulb would switch on and I would say “Aha – now I know.”  I’m really a black-on-white person and if it isn’t spelled out for me I can’t see it.  Kellan spelling it out for me gave me an entirely new outlook on a few key scenes.  This is a must read for anybody who is a Kellan Kyle fan.  Although most of the story is heartwrenching, there is love hiding underneath it all.

I’d never experienced anything like this before.  It was beyond all expectation, all reason.  It changed me.  I would never be the same after this.  We would never be the same after this.

Blog Tour: A Stone in the Sea by A.L. Jackson

He wanted nothing at all…

Until he found she had everything to give…

Sunder lead singer and guitarist Sebastian Stone has everything—fans, fame, and fortune. He also has a heart full of bitterness and a reputation for a short-fused temper. But an outward reputation rarely reveals the true man inside. Facing assault charges after trying to protect his younger brother, Sebastian is sent to Savannah, Georgia to lie low until the dust settles in L.A.

Shea Bentley is beautiful, kind, and hiding from the very lifestyle Sebastian has always embraced.

When the mysterious, tattooed stranger begins hanging out at the bar where she works, Shea is quick to recognize he is nothing but trouble, but she's helpless to the way her body lights up every time his intense gray eyes tangle with hers.

They both soon find themselves drowning in a sea of desire and passion that won’t let them up for air.

Sebastian knows firsthand secrets never die, and he’s not the only one who’s hiding them.

Loving someone always comes with a price. But will it be Shea’s past that costs them everything?

4.5 Stars by Lisa Kane

Shea waitresses at her Uncle Charlie's bar. Somehow she thought her life would be a different than the one she has here, but she is accepted and the decisions that she made a few years ago are not questioned.

Sebastian "Baz" Stone, is the lead singer for Sunder. His life is a total mess right now. His best friend Mark died of an overdose and he is in deep trouble for having assaulted Martin Jennings, a head of a record label. He also happened to be the the guy who discovered the band. But Baz thinks he had something to do with his brother, Austin's drug overdose and he made sure that Martin knew it. Mylton Records is going to decide if they are going to pull the label or not, since Baz has had lots of screw ups.

Guilt got all messed up with the aggression I'd dealt with my entire life. The two combined were enough to straggle me. Yet another fucking disaster I'd gotten myself into. Only this time it affected everyone.

So now his agent Anthony De Pietro, has the band cooling their heels in Savannah Georgia at his mansion. They should have been starting the first leg of a world tour, but that's off the table right now.

"They can do whatever they want. They own you, Baz."

Baz is killing some time by stopping in to get a drink. Shea is his waitress. Instantly the two have a moment. Something that pulls both of them in to each other. He thinks maybe this girl will spend the night with him-why not-there's never been any shortage of girls throwing themselves at him. But it's apparent she has no idea who he is. And he likes it that way. A little harmless flirting takes place, he leaves a hefty tip and away he goes.

But in spite of knowing he is asking for trouble, he's back again and this time he's determined to get her to go out with him. Shea's been burnt and is in no hurry to play with fire again-and this gorgeous guy is bad news. Eventually they do spend time together and neither one is successful at keeping things casual between them. Shea opens up her heart to him and introduces him to the most important person in her life. He feels things he never thought he would or could. He is dark and she is light. He wants to be in that light. But he knows once she finds out who he is and the despicable things he has done, she's going to leave him. He'll be alone again; with just his music and his anger and the meaningless, faceless woman that he screws.

"Shea," I murmured quietly, like an apology, dropping my forehead to the door.
"Please."
Because what was I gonna say? Now she knew and she was never going to look at me the same.
Secrets have a way of working themselves to the surface. They can be buried, but only a fool believes they will stay buried for long. When Shea learns the truth that Baz kept from her she feels like a fool. It seems just about everyone knew who he was but not her.

Baz tells himself she is so much better off without him. He will ruin her life, he ruins everyone's life. But missing her and telling himself to stay away are two different things. When you meet the one person who completes you, who accepts you, who sees you for who you are, ugly warts and all, can you ever really walk away?

But a life in the public eye, where your every move is followed by the press will have repercussions for someone with secrets. Baz never could have dreamed that Shea's past will intersect with his life in ways he never knew. Can they move past this?

A Stone in the Sea is a cliffy. Drowning to Breathe is the sequel that will continue Shea and Baz's story.

Something about it felt intimate and raw and honest, and I was falling farther, being sucked beneath the surface.

A stone in his sea.

Excerpt One
I froze when I felt the presence behind me. The song slowly blinked out, the last note lingering in the dense air, before I slowly looked over my shoulder to find Shea. Thoughtful eyes met mine in all their warmth—covering me, pulling me in, dragging me under.
“You play,” she said, a statement rather than a question.
“A little,” I said with a shrug.
She scoffed. “I would hardly classify that as a little.” She shuffled toward me, barefoot, and still wearing that robe. “You have a beautiful voice,” she whispered, and again it took on that reverent tone, like she was recognizing something inside me I didn’t see.
She ran her fingers up the back of my neck and into my hair, and I lifted my head to it and tried not to moan like a girl when she pressed her hot mouth to my Adam’s apple, kissing me there like the temptress she was.
“Such a beautiful, beautiful voice for a beautiful, beautiful man.” The words vibrated against my throat.
“Shea.” My response was hoarse, uttered toward the ceiling as she kissed up and down my throat. With her daughter’s innocent face running like a reel through my mind, I searched inside myself for some kind of resolve. For courage. For a speck of integrity. “I should go. I shouldn’t be here. I shouldn’t have stayed. Shouldn’t have come back.”
Never should have come in the first place.
“You’re exactly where I want you to be,” she coaxed against my skin.
“Shea.” It was a plea for one of us to find reason.
“Please,” she whispered, hands sinking into my shoulders.
Weak.
Weak.
Weak.
That’s what she made me.
Groaning, I gave, because she already had me, and I swiveled a fraction, grabbed her by the hips, and pulled her onto my lap. She was quick to straddle me, a smile taking over her face as I palmed her ass, all those waves of shiny soft hair falling down around us.
“It’s hardly fair, you know,” she said.
“What’s not fair?”
“You…looking the way you do. Then you turn around and have a voice like that? Singing and playing that way?” She pulled back with a grin. “Tell me you don’t play guitar. You know what they say, a man with a guitar automatically becomes ten times sexier than any other guy in the room.”
I curbed a snort.
Didn’t I know it.
And that was exactly the shit I’d come to hate.
“Pair that with this face and this body…” she continued, purely playful.
Any other girl started talking like that and I’d have tossed her from my lap.
Instead, I kneaded my fingers deeper into the flesh of her ass, rocking her into my cock that was at the ready and begging for more.
Shivers rolled through her. “…and I would say you’re irresistible, Sebastian Stone.”
“Is that all you want me for…my body?” I teased, running my hands up her back, eliciting a pleasured whimper from her.
Fingertips played across my chest, and her expression turned vulnerable, that storm collecting speed. “Yeah. I do want this body.” Those fingers fluttered up to my jaw. “And I want this face.”
Eyes not leaving mine, she slowly leaned down and kissed me over my heart. “Most of all, I want this,” she murmured, hiding nothing, laying herself bare.
