4.5 STAR REVIEW BY Jen Skews
Trudy Stiles has done it again. After reading the last page of Dear Emily
I could not wait to see what was in store for Tabby and Alex. I loved these two characters who we first met
in Dear Emily and wanted nothing more than for them to find their way back to
each other and find the happiness they deserve.
Dear Tabitha is an emotional and touching story about healing, love,
forgiveness, and second chances.
We saw in Dear Emily that Tabby's past was anything but a
happy one. But in this installment we
see more of the pain that Tabby had to endure in her past. She lost her mother at a very early age and
after that went from foster home to foster home where her foster parents cared
more about getting a check every month than they did about her. At the age of 17 she knew it was time to
leave the home she was in at the time.
She needed to escape but what happened next isn’t exactly what she had
in mind. She went from a bad situation
to a horrible situation. While she left
her last home to be free she was anything but.
She found herself in an abusive relationship, made to do things that no
woman should have to do. She was a
prisoner with no way out. Eventually she
escaped the horror that was her life and eventually moved on to find love again when she met
Alex. But things got complicated between
them, and he left. Leaving her to make a
decision that would be difficult for any woman to make.
It’s been over two years since Tabby has seen Alex. Two years since she broke his heart and he
ran off. In that time Tabby has
changed. She is stronger and more
confident. She is not that broken girl
that we first met in Dear Emily. She has
tried to move on from her painful past, move on from Alex and Seth as
well. And in the process she wants to
become a better person and actually make something of her life. When Alex walks back into her life she is
completely shocked, never thinking she would see him again. And while she may still be in love with him
she is not sure why he is back and how he feels about her.
I really liked Alex in Dear Emily but completely fell in
love with him in this book. Alex had his
own horrible past. His father was an
abusive ass!! The pain that he went
through as a kid will rip your heart out.
Tabby was the one woman that he loved . She was good for him. Made him a better
person, until she broke his heart. In
the two years that they have been apart he has never stopped thinking about
her. And now that his tour is over and he is back home, he
finds himself on her door step, not really sure why he is even there. He is still hurt but regardless of that hurt, you can feel how much he still loves her.
Tabby and Alex have a second chance at love but Tabby has a secret that
is bound to ruin that chance. Will Alex
be able to forgive Tabby once her secret is out?
I loved Alex and the man that he has become. He loved Tabby and even after what happened
between them two years ago he still loved her and wanted to be with her. There was a moment where he put aside the
past and everything else to just be there for Tabby. He didn’t even think in that moment. He just followed his heart and knew he needed
to be there by her side to help her. I
loved everything about him and how much he loved her. He was sweet, sexy, understanding and I think
patient. I wanted these two to be able
to get through all the obstacles and find their happiness, because they
deserved it. They are two people who are
so damaged from their past but but have become stronger people because of it. They have both grown into two amazing people
Trudy Stiles has done such a wonderful job with their
story. The pain of what they went
through is felt through the words written on each page. This is a very emotional story. You will cry right along with these
characters but they will also make you smile.
There were a few twists and turns along the way. At times I felt myself on the edge of me seat
afraid to see what would happen next.
There are also some very sweet moments that I love. Trudy Stiles has created characters that you
will just love and feel like you are a part of their life. She has done an amazing job with this
story. Oh and I loved the epilogue! I can’t really say why but I think the way it
was written was perfect.
A must
read. But make sure to read Dear Emily
first.
