Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways.
It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful.
When I met Dee I knew right away that she was special. When she met me, she thought I was anything but special—I was exactly like every other guy who’d screwed her over and let her down. It took some time to convince her otherwise, but turns out I can make a convincing argument when sex is at stake.
You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn't where we ended up.
It’s how we got there.
TAMED goes back in time to the Tangled days. But this time around, it’s not Drew dishing out the advice and opinions—it’s his best friend Matthew, who of course is dealing with Dee Dee.(less)
4 star Review by Natasha Gentile
Ohhhhh lookie here what I have…Tamed by Emma Chase….Oh My
goodness oh my goodness..Everyone knows Emma Chase from Tangled, I mean who
didn’t fall in love love love (and yes I sang that while typing) with
Drew. So this story is about Drew’s Best
friend Matthew and Dee, and we’ve all read Holy Frigging Matrimony: A Tangled
Series Short Story. So we all know how
this works out but going through their story was so good.
It was a welcome back to Ms. Chase who knows how to write in
a man’s perspective. She is the queen of
the men thoughts. And I want to be her.
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player,
they fall in love, player changes his ways.
Meet Matthew Fisher:
Mr. There’s no such thing as love at first sight, it’s just
not possible. Sorry to ruin your fantasy, but that’s just how it is.
He was so very naïve to think that love at first sight
doesn’t exist…well let’s face it ..it totally doesn’t I don’t care what you
say, it’s not true..Lust yes..Love..no.
This is his motto,
Love is patient, love is kind…’? I have my own version: Love is missing
the taste of someone’s morning breath.
Thinking they’re beautiful even when their nose is Rudolph-red and their
hair is bird’s nest crazy. Love isn’t putting up with someone in spite of their
faults- it’s adoring them because of them.
Oh how great it was to see you fall…and boy did he fall….for
Dee. Ms. Delores.
It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful.
Delores Warren:
By today’s standards it’s an unusual name, but for her it’s
a perfect fit. She’s
unusual-different-in all the best kinds of ways. She’s brutally honest, emphasis on “brutal.” She’s strong and doesn't give a rat’s ass
what people think of her. She’s true to herself and makes no apologies for what
she wants or who she is. She’s wild and beautiful-like
a thoroughbred that runs best without a saddle.
Oh dear Matthew prepare to ride bare back…and buy a jock
strap cause she is going to make you jump so many hurdles your balls are going
to be blue..oh and you’re going to love every second of it.
It’s no surprise as soon as they meet, he’s smitten, like so
smitten he asks for her number, I mean
she called him “clit-boy” who wouldn't want to call that girl?
When I met Dee I knew right away that she was special.
But he gets some good advice from Kate,
“She’s a love’-em-and-leave-‘em-with-bruises type of girl.. If you’re
looking for a good time for a night or two, then definitely call her. If you’re looking for anything deeper than
that, I’d stay away.”
Dude, that’s a sure way for a guy to call. I mean it’s a man’s wet dream to have a girl
give him sex, with bruises, and then not have to be all cuddly or have them cling
asking “you are going to call me right?” Wrong they are not…Men don’t want
that. They want a no strings, hot love affair, or do they?
That’s how it started. It wasn’t
supposed to be complicated-no love at first sight, no grand gestures, no hard
feelings. A sure thing; a good time, a
one night stand with an option for a second. That’s all I was looking for. All I thought it would be. Elvis Presley was right. Fools really do rush in. And if you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m a
major f*cking fool…
Well Matthew sure did until, he wanted one date, that led to
two dates, that led to three sleep overs and weeks of “your place my place” and
more orgasms that can be counted. But
then the unthinkable happened -“love” gasp, shock, hold your breath..it’s happening..I
mean people have landed on the moon, of course you’re going to fall in love
with the most independent girl out there, who doesn’t mind if you leave.
I loved seeing Drew again..I mean I love love love (still
singing) him and seeing him again made my heart go pitter patter.
So we have girl meets boy, girl dates boy, girl’s best
friend hooks up with boy’s best friend, best friends fight and call each other
names and then girl and boy fight defending respective best friends..and then
GASP break up all the way around… shocking..but not surprising.
She’s like super independent so for her to even show up is
like rain on a hot humid summer day.
You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn't where
we ended up. It’s how we got there.
And what a wonderful story and I’ll sign off with the wise
words of Matthew,
Life is a short, wild ride.
Don’t try to put the brakes on, don’t overanalyze or try to control
it. If you’re lucky, like I was, you’ll
find that perfect someone who’ll sit next to you and hold your hand through
ever curve, every up and down.
Just got this from the library! Yay! Great review!
