This is Book One in the Acts Of Honor series, the spin-off series to Men Of Honor. It’s told in dual POV, has an HEA with no cliffhanger and it can be read as a standalone. However, I highly recommend that you read the Men Of Honor series prior, as characters play recurring roles in both series.

What can I say about KC
Lynn, well for one she’s Canadian eh? , for two she knows how to write a story
and three she knows how to write about her Navy Seals. I fell in love with her writing with Fighting
Temptation and I jumped on the roller coaster ride never being let down.
We all fell in love
with Anna in Fighting Temptation. She is
Jaxson little sister, though not by blood. They went through something no one
would ever survive, but they did and it made them intertwined with each other
forever. It also created a bond that
could never ever be severed.
Now it’s time for Anna
to have her happily ever after. I mean
she deserves it. It might make it hard
for Jaxson to see that not only is she grown up she has grown up to be a
beautiful woman inside and out. Of
course many boys noticed her but Logan also noticed her. Sigh oh Logan. How I love thee.
In the beginning he was
my salvation, but in the end I was his redemption.
This is our story.
Logan isn’t from the
right side of the tracks. He has nothing
going for him, except he knows hard work, he knows how to survive, he knows how
to love but most of all he knows how to protect the ones he loves.
Anna could care less
about where he came from. She followed
her heart, she followed everything that Jaxson told her to do and it lead her
to Logan each and every time
Keeping on arm wrapped
tightly around my back, he reaches up and cups my cheek. “I’d do anything for you, Anna. I may bot be able to give you much, but I’ll
give you everything I have.”
Just like that you lose
yourself to the powers of Logan, to his words, to his promises, to be his
everything.
“What are you smiling
about? He asks, quirking his lips.
I wrap my arms around
his neck bringing myself closer to him. “Because you make me happy,” I tell him truthfully and brush my lips
across his.
They thought their love
would never end. They thought they had
it all. With one mistake it gets taken
away from them. It gets ripped out of their
hands. Their future that they dreamt
about erased leaving them both alone.
That day I left broken,
my mended heart shattered once again, but this time I knew it wouldn’t be
repaired-not without Logan.
And just like that not
only is her heart shattered so is yours.
You are sitting there thinking how this could happen. How can one girl withstand so much? When is it enough? You know that she will go on because she is a
survivor, but she is half the person she should be because the other half is
out there somewhere only she can’t have him.
He won’t let her.
Logan is one proud
man. He will take help from no one. He will do what he needs to do to be true to
himself and never owe anyone. Nothing
can make the pain of pushing the one thing he thought he could never find. Love.
Anna. Two words can bring him
back.
“A proposition?”
Now he’s back in
town. Back to the place half of his
heart lives at, only he won’t tell her he’s back. He wants, actually he doesn’t know what he
wants at this point. He wants it all,
but having it in your hands and then ripped away makes you scared to believe
that you can have it. That you of all people deserve it all.
No words are spoken as
we stare at one another, our chests heaving together as one. The air around us becoming so thick it’s
stifling. It’s as if we are in our own
universe, one I remembered all to well.
No one knows the inner
demons that haunt Logan. No one knows
how inside he is a shell. He is
broken. The only one that could heal him
is not an option. At least not in his
reality.
I only broke down once
and came to see her. I parked a fair
distance away to avoid being seen, and ended up waiting for almost an
hour. I was about to give up when I
finally spotted her walking with her friend across campus, and I swear my heat
stopped f*cking beating. She was
everything I remembered her to be-beautiful, vibrant and perfect. She laughed at something her friend had said,
and even from where I stood I could hear it.
The long, but not forgotten, sound washed over me and brought physical
pain. I ached so f*cking bad to go to
her, to touch her, to pull her against me and never let her go.
He has made a deal with the devil or as some
would call them the FEDS. The one thing
that has him going is the Jaxson, Sawyer and Cade are in his corner. These freaking guys refuse to allow anyone
they know to fail. Failure is not an
option.
He’s fighting his past,
he is fighting for his future, but most of all he is tired of fighting his
feeling for Anna. He is tired of pushing her away, tired of fighting that
ghost.
“Just who the hell do
you think you are? You have no right to
act like this. We are over! We have been over for years and-”
“Like hell we are,” he
growls
Those are the last
words spoken just before his mouth claims mine with a possession that steals my
breath. I gasp at the unexpected act,
and he uses it to his advantage by thrusting his tongue past my lips. A whimper escapes me the moments his familiar
taste, the one I’ve never forgotten, floods my mouth and rocks me to my core.
Logan you sly
bastard. Just when I wanted to kick you
in the nuts for hurting her and making her suffer watching you day in day out,
you come in and steal away my breath and my heart. You fight for your girl, for the woman she
has become, for the wife you want her to be.
And just like that you
steal our hearts. You make up sigh with
love, you make us fan ourselves with your dirty dirty mouth and what you do with
that mouth makes our toes curl up. You
make up believe that everything in this world is worth the fight.
That when you fight for
your redemption, hoping that even if you can’t give her everything, you can
give her you and that is something you can’t buy.
A laugh spills out of
her just before she grabs my face and lays one hot f*cking kiss on my
lips. I thread my fingers through her
hair and crush her mouth harder against mine.
Inhaling everything she has to give me, her warm tears mixing with our
flavors. “I love you so much,” she
whispers into the kiss.
“I love you too. I swear, Anna, I’ll take care of you. You’ll never know what it’s like to hurt.”
“As long as I have you
by my side I can survive anything. I
just need you”
KC makes you fall in
love with the characters hook line and sinker.
It is really hard for you to think you have a favourite character
because once you start reading you sit there saying, yup now he’s my favourite. Which makes you see KC knows what she is
doing and I can’t wait to see what other stories that she comes up with. You know I’ll be there every step of the way.
