My clients call me Lily... Lily Stargazer.
No I'm not a stripper or a street walker...
But I sure as hell like to push it deep.
I call the shots, I take control, that’s how it goes. Don't like it? There's the door.
Everyone has a dark side, I wear mine proudly. Sure I have my secrets and a past, just like everyone else, but only he knows where I come from and he doesn't think I belong here.
Do I?
But even those who seem to be plain as day, have the darkest sides of all and when the lights go out and the bulb is changed, they can't hide it much longer.
I know who I am and I am not everyone’s shot of tequila...
But I sure as hell ain't a fine wine.
4 Star Review by Jen Skewes
This is the first book that I have read by this author. When I first read the blurb I was very
intrigued and needed to find out more.
This is the story of Lily, a tattoo artist with an attitude who has a
wall up that is so thick it would take a bulldozer to break it down. Lawson is the guy that manages to do
that. They come from two different
worlds. He’s a business man who grew up
with money. But you know what they say,
opposites attract. And this story is the
perfect example of how true that is.
When we first meet Lily I was not sure what to make of
her. She didn’t have much growing
up. But she managed to escape her hometown and make
something of herself. She is a successful
tattoo artist who owns her own shop, has a beautiful home and in control of her
life. If there was ever a female alpha
she is it. She is feisty, take no crap
kind of girl who knows how to stick up for herself and be in control. She is not into love or relationships and
does not sleep with the same guy more than once. She is the female equivalent of a man whore. But when she meets Lawson Coal he sees
beneath the rough edges and sees that underneath there is more to Lily
Stargazer than most people can see. He
sees the badass chick that she wants everyone to see but he also sees the
softer side to her. He wants her and he
is not about to give up, no matter how much she pushes him away.
Lawson is the rich, preppy guy that is the complete opposite
of Lilly. He owns his own wine business
and comes from money, something that Lily didn’t have growing up. When he first meets her at her shop he sees
something in her and no matter how hard he tries he cannot stop thinking about
her. He is opening a new business in her town and has a business deal for her. And
no it not of the sexual nature. But he
hopes that with this deal he will be able to spend more time with her, get to
know her and make her his. The only
issue is that Lily is not the type of girl to settle down. But will Lawson Coal be the guy to change her
views on dating?
I really enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it
down. As mentioned earlier I had a hard
time with Lily at first. I have no
issues with her not wanting to settle down and wanting to sleep around. I mean if men can do it why not women? But I think at some point it may have been
too much for me. At times I wanted to
smack some sense into her because she completely frustrated me. But in the end I really loved her character
and wanted her and Lawson tow work things out.
He saw something in her and I loved that he never gave up. Even if at times I wanted him to walk
away. But Law has his own past and
secrets that he is hiding. And being
with Lily helps him to open up for the first time. It’s as if she is his light and brings him
happiness that he hasn’t felt.
Overall this was a great read. It was missing something for me and I think
that it may have been that I felt like some issues didn’t seem to be cleared
up. But overall I really enjoyed it and
look forward to more from this author.
