I am seriously loving this series. I honestly was not sure about Macy and Cal
becaue they are just so opposite in so many ways and well they really didn’t
get a long very well. I always loved Cal
despite the mistakes that he made in the past.
Macy has this hard exterior and getting past it is not easy for most
people. The only person who truly knows
all about her demons is her best friend Mac.
She uses sex as her comfort, but from what, is what we are still trying
to figure out. I wasn’t sure if Cal
could be the one to break past the armor that Macy has tightly secured in place
but in this installment he completely proved to me that he is the perfect
person for the job.
Grind takes place exactly where we left off. Cal and Macy had sex and normally Macy would
walk away and never look back. She does
not do repeats. But Cal was different
and she wants more. But now that he is
working on her case he is off limits.
Until the case is over then he is all hers for the taking. They make a deal. She will wait until the case is over and then
once it is they will continue their “just sex” relationship. In continuing this sex only charade they manage to push each other’s limits in ways that neither one of them
expected. And they realize after limits
are pushed that there may be no going back.
This is more than either one of them expected. They both begin to slowly open up, but there
are still demons from Macy’s past that haunt her. And no matter how much you want these two to
be together you fear that someone is going to get hurt. When it all comes out who will run first?
I love Macy and Cal together. Cal has always been sweet and sexy but in
this installment; holy hotness!!! Ms.
Bennett definitely took this book to the next level of hot and sexy. Cal and Macy were on fire! But aside from the hotness we also see two
people starting to fall for each other.
Cal knows how he feels but in some way fears he will be the one hurt in
all this. Macy’s walls start to come
down and she starts to open up to Cal but will she end up hurting him. She is still battling her demons and while we
get some hints of what they are in this one there is still the mystery to be
solved. I cannot wait to read Yield to
see what happens next. Great series!!
