I really enjoyed this book. If you have not read the first two in this series, while not necessary, I think it would definitely help in understanding this book more. We first met ATF agent Sam Cortez in the first two books and in reading them first you will understand him more, his reasons for moving and starting over and how his relationship with his brother went from non existent to what it is today.
I loved Sam and was so excited for his book. He deserved to be happy after everything he went through and most of all he deserved the perfect woman. He moved to California to get a fresh start on life, leaving everything else behind him. He has been reassigned to a branch in CA. and is looking froward to his new life. He meets Kate, his bosses sister, when he suggests that Sam rent her guest house. From the moment he saw her he knew he wanted her, he knew there as something about her. But he was not sure that he wanted to put his heart on the line again.
Kate is instantly attracted to Sam but he is not only going to be her tenant, he also works for her brother. Being with Same can get real messy if things do not work out. But that doesn't mean that she can just shut off the part of her brain that is constantly thinking of him. When they both give in and have one night together, will it ruin everything? Was it a mistake that should never happen again?
I really loved Kate and Sam together. They had an instant connection and you could see how much they were falling for each other. Together they were sweet and sexy. Sam was everything that I loved about him in the first two books. I loved his character and how sweet he was but also hot and sexy. This was a quick read and honestly more of a novella. For me I loved it but at the same time it was missing something. Maybe I wanted more depth, more background story on Kate. Things happened very quickly. But with that being said I did enjoy and and I thought it wrapped up this series perfectly. The epilogue was perfect and I loved how we got to see it all come together with a beautiful ending that was all about love and family. Overall a great ending to this series.
