Title: Someone Like You
Series: Someone to Love #2
Author: Addison Moore
Publisher: Skyscape
Publication Date: January 28, 2014
A sexy, romantic read from the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Someone to Love. When coed Ally Monroe literally falls into the arms of a tattooed bad-boy one summer night, she can't seem to let go. Morgan Jordan is everything Ally doesn't want—he's a playboy from a blue collar background, and Ally's looking for upper-class stability. Though their relationship starts off as a one-night stand, once Ally learns Morgan is her best friend's brother, there's no escaping him . . . or the growing fire between them. As Ally and Morgan become closer, they confront bitter enemies, his sister's disapproval, and paths pulling them in different directions at summer's end. The second book in the bestselling Someone to Love series proves that in love and passion, sometimes two wrongs do make a right.

Review by Lisa Kane
I adored
Cruise Elton and Kendall Jordan in Someone to Love and this story picks up
right after that one. Morgan is Kendall’s brother, a star baseball athlete
attending college on a full athletic scholarship in Oregon. He is visiting his
sister and mom in Carrington, Massachusetts. His mom is getting married to
Cruise’s dad and he is here for the wedding. But on his way, he stops at the
Pretty Girls Gentlemen’s Club for a few drinks.
Ally is
Kendall’s friend. Life has been hard and she is struggling but is determined to
keep going to Garrison, the college Kendall and their friend Lauren attend. Her
job at Starbucks isn’t cutting it and she gets a job at Pretty Girl’s, where
her sister Tess works as an exotic dancer. The thing is Ally’s never done this
before and she isn’t sure she can do it now. Her debut doesn’t go exactly the
way she wanted and she ends up falling into a gorgeous guy’s lap-Ally meet
Morgan.
These two
have been having eyeball sex the whole time Ally was dancing and one thing
leads to another and they end up having a one night stand in a back bedroom of
the club.
Each goes
their own way until Morgan is introduced to Ally by his sister, meeting his own
personal dancer in an awkward set of circumstances. They are snarky and sassy and smoking hot with
each other.
“Okay”-she
flattens her hands in the air-“so you’re less of an ass for catching me, but
could you please do me a huge favor? Don’t tell her about Pretty Girls, or all
that stuff that happened after. I’d die if she found out.”
Ally has
been casually dating Rutger, a preppy type of frat guy, who is rich and a snob.
She thinks being with someone like him can lift her up out of the pit that is
her life. Her father split when she was 9 and her mom died when she was a young
teen. With only her druggie brother to raise her, she spiraled out of control,
met a bad guy and messed up big time. But some good came of that and she lives
for her daughter Ruby, who she gave up in an open adoption. She lives for the
few times she visits her.
For some
reason Ally opens up to Morgan about her past and he tells her things that are
messed up for him right now. They may be falling for each other, but the summer
will be over too quickly and Morgan will be going back to Oregon. There may
also be an element of danger lurking around them and it adds intrigue to the
story.
“I need you tonight.” I sear the
words over his ear. “Maybe at the end of the day all I really want is to go
home with someone like you. Maybe that’s the only thing the bad girl in me
really craves. It can be our dirty little secret. No strings, just you and me,
two birds cut from the same cloth, wrestling it out.”
Cruise and
Kendall are trying to make a go of his mom’s bed and breakfast. They are still
crazy in love, engaged to be married at Christmas and Cruise is his usual
creative self in the bedroom (and pretty much anywhere else with a hard
surface) judging by the noises that come from their bedroom. Reading about these
two is like spending time with old friends.
How can
Morgan and Ally make things work when they live on opposite sides of the coast?
Are they ready to radically change their lives for each other-can a player
avoid being played? What happens when Cruise’s ex-girlfriend Blair is up to her
old tricks? Besides all that, throw in Molly, Cruise’s nymphomaniac little
sister.
I loved this
book and can’t wait for Someone for Me, the continuation of Kendall and
Cruise’s story!
Sometimes, a strange turn takes us
exactly where we need to be. Sometimes when we fall, destiny makes sure the
right person is there to catch us.
