From national bestselling author Sharla Lovelace, comes another romantic and heartwarming novel set in the heart of Texas.

Ian was the wild boy every girl dreams of, a renegade who thrived on breaking the law and setting Savi’s body on fire. It was all fun and games and hot excitement, no strings attached, until the one day he got serious—and then disappeared without a trace.

Savi has spent the ten years since committing herself to her work, her daughter, and to not thinking about Ian—or love. Just when it’s possible she might have found the one man who can change her mind, Ian pulls into town, bringing with him all of the lust, danger, and excitement Savi remembers.

As Ian stirs up old feelings and draws Savi back into memories and passion she’s too weak to fight, he’s also digging up dirt on the man Savi is falling for, doing everything he can to prove that Duncan is not who he seems to be. And Savi, unsure whether she can trust either man, will be forced to decide between rekindling a love that never really burned out and building a new one that looks ready to catch fire.

4 Star Review by Natasha gentile

I really don’t know how to describe this book.  Ok let’s take a look at the characters.

Savanna, or Savi as her friends call her she is the main character. Let me describe this girl.
She is a reformed bad girl.  I have to say I’m not sure I would want to be a reformed bad girl.  Oh who am I kidding, my bad girl and her bad girl are not even from the same planet.  My bad girl means not flushing the toilet. Hers is breaking and entering and stealing stuff.  She reformed herself all because she became a mom.

I was born questioning everything.  Pushing every boundary, opening my mouth when I shouldn't.  I had my dad’s penchant for that, as well as his light hair and dark eyes.

Next up we have Ian..Oh Ian how I love bad boys..I also adore bad boys that ride bikes.
Ian and Savi were two peas in a pod.  He was the ying to her yang.  Oh,  and they used to have hot sweat monkey sex with each other..But I don’t enjoy bad boys that get scared and run away, after saying the ‘L’ word.

Ian was the wild boy every girl dreams of, a renegade who thrived on breaking the law and setting Savi’s body on fire. It was all fun and games and hot excitement, no strings attached, until the one day he got serious—and then disappeared without a trace.

"Me and Ian, well, we had a different pattern.  One made up less of flowers and L words and more motorcycles and sweaty hormone-crazed nakedness.  Which worked for us until it didn't.

It worked for us.  No strings, no expectations.  No overnight stays, ever.  Just a fix to a craving.  Ian with his intense smoky eyes and sexy swagger.  His constant hunger to go do something crazy.  His voice that whispered naughty things against my skin.  It was easy with him. He was all I needed-a best friend and a lover, who always went home because not staying kept it real.
Until we broke our own rules, and he broke my heart.

Ian, me and you are going to have words..  Not yet because I’m not sure how I want to proceed with you.  I mean I want to hurt you, but I always want to have sex with you.  So anyways, back to the story...

Ten years later, she’s not the person she was.  She’s mature now, she’s over that hot monkey sex and heart palpitations. Just when she is ready to move on…Mr. Ian rides back into town stirring up all the old feeling and dragging her back into memories or past.  He came back to help his brother, but what he also did was come back to make things right with Savi.

Enter Duncan Spoon.  I swear he saved this book.  I loved loved LOOOOOOVVVVEEEDDDD him.

Duncan Spoon.  oh Duncan be still my heart.  So Mr. Spoon is the town veterinarian.  So not only is he super hot.  He saves kittens. Oh and donkeys.  Dude, I’m pretty sure he would make crutches for chipmunks.   I have no pets, but if you were my vet I would be buying a cat, a dog, a fish, a bird, a hamster, a ferret…hell I’ll even buy a snake..

He was very good at kissing.  His lips knew just when to search, just when to back off.  He knew just how to hold me and mold me to him while his tongue made love to my mouth. It was hypnotizing, and I felt my nerves and knotted up muscles begin to let go.

So now that I’ve introduced you to the main characters I have to say I was not looking forward to the triangle I thought was going to come.

I mean Ian stirs up old feelings and draws Savi back into memories and passion she’s too weak to fight, he’s also digging up dirt on the man Savi is falling for, doing everything he can to prove that Duncan is not who he seems to be.

So now here lies the question du jour.  Who is she going to go for?  Should she stay safe and follow the doctor or should she go back to what she knows?  I know which one I would chose, but that’s me!!! You'll just have to read it to find out!

Excerpt

“I’m not perfect and I will never claim to be,” I said. “I’m screwed up. I have baggage that has baggage, I have issues with girly things, and have done some not-so-smart things in my past. I have jacked up hair and I talk when I’m nervous. You once called me a mess, and it’s true. I’m—”

“A beautiful mess,” he said, stepping closer again. My breathing quickened and I had to think about exhaling. That look. That damn look. “I said you were a beautiful mess.”

The burn that had started low was up in my throat then, threatening to choke me. “Yeah, well,” I managed, the words clipped and quivery. “You were high on steak then.”

A sound escaped his throat that almost sounded like a chuckle, and his hands came up again. They stopped just short of touching me, as if he had to think about it one more time, and then they were on either side of my face, pulling me to him. I sucked in a breath and let my hands move slowly around his waist.

“And what’s my excuse now?” he breathed, restrained emotion making his voice gravelly.

“Lack of sleep?” I whispered, my heart doing bottle rocket launches against my ribs. “It does tend to make you—”

“Shut up,” he said, covering my mouth with his.
