Blog Tour: Rock Candy Kisses by Addison Moore

ROCK CANDY KISSES
Addison Moore

Rock Candy Kisses
3:AM Kisses Book 5
*This Novel can be read as a stand alone*

Synopsis

Annie Edwards was born deaf, but she’s never let that define her. She’s settling in as a freshman at Whitney Briggs University, loves her dorm, her roommate, her classes, but something feels as though it’s missing—enter Blake Daniels. He’s everything Annie is not—a rocker, a player, a college dropout. Her friends want to sleep with him, her brothers want to kill him, and all Annie wants is a chance to see where her heart takes her.

As the lead singer of 12 Deadly Sins, Blake has had his fair share of rock candy. But Annie has taken over his body, his mind, his heart—three things he’s never lost control of before.

Often first love and first heartbreak go hand in hand.
Sometimes the thrill of one is worth risking the other.

4 Star Review by Lisa Kane

Annie has been deaf her whole life. She's been protected and sheltered by her parents and her two older brothers, Bryson  and Holt along with the women in their lives, Baya and Izzy.  She's  excited to be going to Whitney Briggs University. She attended a school for the hearing impaired and hasn't been in a mainstream school since her first failed attempt as a child. Her parents have been urging her to have an Excel implant, they are convinced she is a good candidate and if she had the surgery, she would be able to hear for the first time. She just wants to focus on starting college and making a new life for herself. While she loved being surrounded by kids just like her, she wants to experience college with all types of people. She has to live in a world full of sounds and she must as well start living life and learning to adapt.

Her first day doesn't turn out to be quite what she hoped. For starters she missed the truck that is barreling down on her at the campus and is pulled to safety by a living, breathing Adonis. When he tries to make conversation with her, she flees the scene and makes her way to class. She has an interpreter to help her with her classes but he seems to be busy flirting with the catty girls in their class. Annie feels like an outsider.

When she lets off a little steam at the bar she owns with her two brothers, The Black Bear, she can't help but check out the gorgeous lead singer. Turns out his name is Black Daniels and he's her knight in shining armor from that morning. He seeks her out after the show and learns a little bit about her. But she picks up on a weird vibe from him. She figures he's scared off by her deafness.

Blake feels like his life is out of control. While he loves the band, he is struggling with the loss of his brother, Benji. He recently died in a motorcycle accident and Blake is having trouble coping. With little money and having just dropped out of school, his prospects are looking a little bleak. He is attracted to Annie; she soothes something in him. Since his brother's death, he's vowed to stop wasting his life by drinking and screwing random chicks all the time. Annie is a breath of fresh air.

But Annie's overly protective brothers aren't happy about this situation and make life more difficult for Blake than it already is. They are more than aware of how many girls he's gone through and there is no way their sister is going to be one of his random groupies. But his reputation is only one of the things standing in their way. Blake is hiding something from Annie; something huge. Something that he should have told her from the beginning. Of course, her brothers find out what he is hiding and let her know. Annie feels so betrayed and is truly gutted. How can they find their way back to each other? Why did Blake wait until it was too late to tell Annie what was going on in his life? Can she ever forgive him?

This latest installment in Addison Moore's Kisses series had a little more angst than some of the previous ones. But like the ones before it, I love the way the characters from all of the books intermingle with each other. Their stories didn't end when their books did-they still grew and matured and moved on to new phases of their lives. The last one of the series, Velvet Kisses will feature Annie's college roommate Marley and Blake's brother Wyatt.

The guys in the band like to call the girls who flock the stage 'rock candy.' Let's just say I've had my fair share of rock candy.
Rock Candy? As in groupies? Sounds tasty. And slightly sexist but that doesn't seem to bother me.
"Yes, groupies."
"Yeah? What if I wanted to be one of those rock candy girls?"
"I think you're better off being you."
