Synopsis:
I fell in love once.
It was amazing. She was amazing. Life was amazing.
I lived for each time I could see her, and nothing else mattered, not that our families were enemies, our time together was forbidden, or we had to meet in secret.
Our love could conquer all.
Until it didn’t.
So I was ripped away from the love of my life and shoved into hell, forced to continue without her.
It shattered me, broke the best parts of me, left me permanently damaged.
Or so I thought.
Years later, I swear history’s trying to repeat itself because she’s back in my life, and I’m just as drawn to her as I was before. But I’m older and wiser now, and I know she should stay away from a worthless piece of ex-con like me.
So, I will not let her in. I absolutely refuse to hurt her. I will keep her away.
Then again, sometimes risking your greatest fear to get to a smile makes everything worth it, and besides, I’m not sure I can resist her, anyway.
This is the story of how Felicity Bainbridge changed my life forever, starting one summer day long ago after I was forced to change a dirty diaper…
–Knox Parker

4.5 Star Review by Jen Skewes
I am sure that I have mentioned this a million times before but I am going to say it again. The Forbidden Men Series by Linda Kage is by far one of my favorite series. Mason Loew is the reason that I am a huge fan of Linda's. From the moment I met him I was hooked. I have loved every book in this series and they just keep getting better and better. Ms. Kage has a way of making you feel with her characters. Whether they are happy or sad I feel it all. I loe laughing with them, hurting with them and watching them all fall in love and find their happily ever after. And once again she did not disappoint with Knox and Felicity's story. This one is different from the other books in this series. This one has a bit of darkness to it and the hero at some point becomes a very broken and damaged man, which is honestly is one of my weaknesses. I can never resist a broken hero.
Worth It is a second chance love story between two people from
opposite sides of the track. Their Families despise each other so their love is
a forbidden one. Getting caught would
mean the end of their relationship and neither one of them can imagine living
their life without the other in it.
Felicity family is rich and powerful. Knox Parker on the other
hand is considered the trash of the neighborhood. He doesn't belong in Felicity’s world. But
when these two accidentally run into each other they form this connection.
They form a friendship which turns into love. Their summer is spent
getting to know each other and falling in love through stolen moments. Their love isn’t just some fling that they
expect to come to end when the summer is over. Their love is real and deep. So real that they both make promises of a
future together. Until something happens
causing their love to come to a tragic end.
They are both left with broken hearts and completely shattered.
It is now six years later when they run into each other again. But Knox is a changed man. He is no longer
the happy, sweet guy that Felicity fell in love with. The last six years has caused him to become
this broken and damaged man. He is angry
and feels now more than ever that he does not deserve Felicity. But she knows that her Knox is in there
somewhere. And even six years apart
cannot take away what they had. The love
they have for each other is still there.
But is it enough to save them? Is
it enough to make Knox see how right they are together? Will these two get their second chance at a
happily ever after?
Linda Kage always manages to make me feel it all when I read her
books. And this one is no
different. As mentioned earlier this one is a bit darker
than the others in this series and certainly more emotional. What poor Knox went through in the six years
that he was apart from Felicity will completely break you. My heart hurt for him and I hoped that he
would be able to see how good of a man he really was and how much he deserved
love. And I loved that Felicity did not
give up on him. I loved and admired her
strength.
I always love a good second chance love story, especially one where
we get to see the couple faliing in love for the first time. And Linda Kage
gives us just that. But this book
doesn’t start out in the past, eventually leading us to the present. The chapters alternate from present to
past. So we slowly get to see their love story begin. We get to see them fall in love. We see the special moments that thy share that will melt your heart. We see how real their love for each other really is. When we are brought back to the
present we know something horrible happened to cause these two to be apart. But you still aren’t exactly sure what happened. I found myself waiting on pins and needles, reading as fast as I could to get to that moment when it is all revealed. And when it was I wanted to throat
punch a few people for their actions and at the same time I wanted to comfort
Knox and Felicity. My heart broke right
along with theres, Even in the present
I had my suspicions about what happened to Knox but when it came out I don’t
think I was prepared for the emotions that it would bring out in me. This was one roller coaster ride of emotions but I loved every minute of it.
Linda Kage did such an amazing job with this story and as always she
did not disappoint. I loved watching Knox and Felicity fall in love. They
were young but their love felt so real and genuine. I was rooting for these two all the way. I also loved that the rest of the “forbidden
crew” were all in this one as well.
These are all characters that I love and feel like I am a part of their
circle and family. So getting to see
them all is an added bonus. I will
certainly be sad when this series is over.
But until then I am looking forward to Asher’s book. Another amazing addition to this fantastic
series.
