Blog Tour: Easy Love by Kristen Proby

EASY LOVE Synopsis:
Eli Boudreaux’s family has built ships and boats in Louisiana for generations. He comes from a hardworking, wealthy family and his empire is growing by leaps and bounds. At thirty, he is the youngest CEO to ever head Bayou Enterprises, co-chairing with his eldest brother. His head for business and his no-nonsense work ethic is also quickly making him the best the company has seen in generations. His staff admires him, women adore him and Eli’s family is solid. But he’s recently discovered that someone on the inside of his business is stealing from him and he’s determined to find out who.

Kate O’Shaughnessy is hired by companies all over the world to slip inside and investigate every member of the organization from the CEO down to the custodial staff to find the person or persons responsible for embezzling. She’s excellent at blending, becoming part of the team, and finding the weakest link. She’s smart, quick-witted, and she’s now been hired by Bayou Enterprises, specifically Eli Boudreaux. The attraction is immediate and the chemistry is off the charts, but Kate has heard all about Eli’s playboy past and she has a job to do. Sleeping with the boss isn’t a part of that job, even if just the sound of her name rolling off that Cajun tongue and the way he fills out a designer suit does make her sweat.

Eli’s southern charms surprise Kate. The man whose reputation labels him as a ruthless, callous womanizer is not the man she’s coming to know intimately. He’s generous, protective and makes her smile. Cracking through Kate’s cool, reserved demeanor and discovering her love of sexy, expensive lingerie is a challenge Eli can’t resist, but her sweet nature, love of family and sense of humor pull at him in ways no one else ever has.

But when the person responsible for trying to single-handedly dismantle Eli’s empire comes to light, and it’s time for Kate to move on, to what lengths will Eli go to keep the woman he’s fallen in love with by his side?

4.5 Star Review by Lisa Kane

Eli Boudreaux is the CEO of Bayou Industries. He breaths, sleeps and eats his position at the helm of the family's business. He has 2 brothers, one Beau, is also involved in the business, and one Declan is a musician. He has 3 sisters, Savannah works with him, Gabby owns a bed and breakfast and Charlotte (Charly) has a shop. On his father's death bed, he swore that he would stop wasting his life and he would make his family's business a success. He has certainly achieved that, but at the cost of having a personal life.

Kate O'Shaughnessy is a friend of Savannah's and Declan's from college. The three are tight and more like siblings. When Van contacts her and tells her that she needs her help in finding out who is embezzling funds from the company, she doesn't hesitate to come to New Orleans. This is what she does, and traveling around the country is second nature to her. It helps her to move past the mess her life was with her ex husband.

When Kate meets with Eli for the first time (in spite of her closeness to his family, they have never met) sparks fly. Van warned Eli off of Kate and told him that his manwhore ways had better not come out around Kate. Since Eli is a workaholic, he uses hook ups to scratch that particular itch. He's a heart breaker alright. But Eli is absolutely god smacked when he sees Kate and she is pretty intrigued herself.

His thumb is circling softly over the back of my hand, sending my body into a tailspin. My nipples have tightened, pressing against my white blouse, and now I wish with all my might that I hadn't taken off my jacket.

He offers to show her around the French Quarter and her temporary housing just happens to be right next door to his. As is right next door-their balconies are practically kissing. They share some intimate meals and shopping and love hanging out together. Kate is digging in at work trying to find out who is the person stealing.

Kate has a painful past and keeps warning herself that this is temporary-she only plans on staying six weeks or so. Eli tells himself that he can't let himself get too attached to Kate, she will be leaving soon. But alas, the heart and the soul don't always listen to reason.

"I want to spend every minute with you.
She smiles, then shakes her head. "You don't have to. We know this is finished Eli. We can just cut it off."
"No, I don't want that.: I kiss her lips softly. "I want to spend every minute with you that you're here."
I swallow hard and call myself a selfish fucking bastard, and a coward. when I say," Because I'm not quite ready to say goodbye."

I loved this first installment in Kristen Proby's new series. Eli's siblings and Kate's cousin Rhys and her friend Lila, add so much dimension to the story line that my head is full of possible pairings and sequels!
