New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jay Crownover returns with the third standalone title in her Getaway series, ESCAPE. Check out the review below, and pick up your copy today!

About ESCAPE:

Everything inside of him is screaming that he needs to run, he needs to go, he needs to escape.

Lane Warner is used to being overshadowed and overlooked.

After all, he’s the youngest brother and the most laid back one in the family. He’s the one known for going with the flow and not making waves, even when things seem to be at their worst.
Very few things in life have had the ability to rile Lane up and get under his skin. At the top of that list is his childhood friend Brynn Fox…no…Brynn Warner. The fact that they share a last name was the one thing that has the power to light him up and spin him out of control like no other. There was no calm, cool and collected when it comes to all the reasons why Brynn had to become part of his family.
It’s slowly killing him to keep wanting what he can’t have, so Lane sees only one way to stop himself from doing something they’ll both regret…he has to leave.

Everything inside of her is calling out to find him, to follow, to bring him home.
Brynn Warner is used to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
After all, she’s the daughter of an unrepentant gold-digger who never once blinked at being the cause of her daughter’s pain and suffering.
Very few things in her life have ever brought happiness and a sense of security. At the very top of that list is Lane Warner. She has unwaveringly loved the youngest Warner since the first minute she laid eyes on him. He was everything Brynn ever wanted and everything she knew she could never have.
Sometimes the right choice is the one that hurts the most and Brynn’s had to make a few that felt like they might be the end of her.

When Lane takes off, one thing is clear, the only choice Brynn has is to go after him.

She’s going to bring her wayward cowboy home….whatever it takes.

Escape is a standalone novel, the third book in the Getaway series, which features the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women who dare to love them. These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

4 stars
Review by Trinette Dungee

Lane Warner is the baby of the Warner Brothers; he’s the one who can put anyone at ease with his laid back nature and easy giving smile. That smile has gotten him many women in his bed except the only one he really wants; Brynn Fox-Warner. He and Brynn were the best of friends for years, until he offered her a way out of her horrible life and she turned him down and accepted his father’s help instead…hence the “Warner” last name.  Broken hearted Lane basically slept his way through any woman he came across but all the sex in the world couldn’t erase Brynn from his heart of fill the hole she left in it. Then watching another man propose to her, ripping the hole in his heart even deeper he runs; but Brynn’s not done with him yet.

Brynn suffered abuse at the hands of her family for years. The only bright spot in her life other than her little sister was Lane Warner. He was her best friend, her protector. He soothed her soul, doctored the cuts and bruises she endured at the hands of a selfish mother and the myriad of men she brought around.  When she suffered the worst of attacks Lane offered to marry her to take her away from it all; but Brynn turned him down and then married his dad. She knew she hurt Lane by turning him down, but at the time they were so young and she couldn’t allow him to throw away his future taking on her demons.

So for the past two books in the series we’ve kind of watched Lane and Brynn tiptoe around each other. I honestly couldn’t figure out how their story was going to go. I have to say in the beginning I wasn’t all that captivated. Lane basically takes off because he can’t deal with the fact that Brynn has been proposed to by another man. He flees to Sutton’s and Em’s where he stays until Brynn swoops in to bring him home where he belongs. Okay fine, she comes and gets him and they embark on a road trip from California back to Wyoming, but I’m still trying to figure out where this story was going. Suddenly the encounter with a young kid by the name of Bauer kicks this story off and makes this my favorite book in the series!!!!

Bauer is a young runaway caught up in a possible sex-trafficking ring. He’s beaten and battered and broken; something Brynn can definitely relate to. He doesn’t trust anyone and all he wants is to get to Denver to his older brother (hmmmm, Jay Crownover….Denver….very interesting….and the plot thickens). Brynn and Lane both see something of themselves in Bauer and neither is willing to leave him on his own. It takes some convincing but Brynn and Lane finally convince Bauer that they are the good guys and they are going to do whatever they can to help him get to his brother.
What makes this a four star read for me? A few things

1.    Lane and Brynn go right into their relationship. There’s no tiptoeing and being skittish around each other. Yeah, there’s a bit of tension in the beginning but it’s quickly squashed. There was no angst of “they split 70% into the book and then realize in the end that they belong together. We don’t need it because we’ve experienced it during CY’s and Leo’s story and Sutton’s and Em’s story. This was more about Lane and Brynn finally admitting to each other and coming completely clean about how they felt about each other and how they hurt each other and working  through the pain. This was them being a team.

2.   Jay very cleverly gave you two, possibly three stories in one. While Lane and Brynn were the main storyline, we get the Bauer’s story his full story. We also get the makings of Ten and Webb’s story. She added these other storylines without taking anything away from Brynn and Lane.

3.   And this is the one that really got me. With this book, Jay tied together three series. I think I vaguely remember “The Point” connecting with characters from either “The Marked Men” Series or “The Saints of Denver” Series, but in this book there’s mention of The Point (I’m trying to go back in my memory and remember if Webb or Wyatt Bryant from The Point),  and there’s an appearance by a character from the Marked Men Series….here’s a hint; she’s red-head with a badge and based on the similarities that Brynn mentions between the two of them, I’m wondering if there might be some connection between them…..

Release Blitz: A Crack in Everything by LH Cosway

We're celebrating the release of A CRACK IN EVERYTHING by L.H. Cosway!

Title: A Crack In Everything (Cracks Duet)
Age Group: Adult
Release Date: January 30, 2018
A Crack in Everything
Life used to be simple.

I was a city girl with humble dreams. Then Dylan O’Dea broke into my flat, held me against the wall and told me to stay quiet.

It was like in the movies, where the universe zeros in on a single scene. I looked into his eyes and knew he was going to change me.

For Dylan, the sky was always falling. He showed me how our world is a contradiction of beauty and ugliness. How we choose to ignore the awful and gloss over it with the palatable. How you need just a tiny drop of something unsavoury to create every great scent.

Pretty deep for a pair of teenagers living in a block of council flats in inner city Dublin, right Probably. But we weren’t typical. We both had our obsessions. Mine was growing things, Dylan’s was scent. He taught me how to use my nose, and I introduced him to the magic of flowers.

I had no idea that one day he’d build an empire from what we started together. But before that, there was love and happiness, tragedy and epic heartbreak…

My name is Evelyn Flynn and I’m going to tell you about the crack in everything.

A Crack in Everything is Book #1 in L.H. Cosway’s Cracks duet.

Releasing February 6, 2018!

How the Light Gets in
He came back to me 16 minutes and 59 seconds into Beethoven’s Symphony no. 7.

We parted amid tragedy, so it seemed poetic. Dylan O’Dea, my childhood sweetheart, had once

meant everything to me. Now we were strangers, and honestly, after eleven years I never thought

I’d see him again.

I lived in the world of the average, of getting paid by the hour and budgeting to make ends meet. But

Dylan, he lived in the world of wealth and success. He’d achieved the great things I always suspected

he would. The dissatisfaction he’d felt as a teenager had obviously been an excellent motivator.

He started a business from scratch, pioneered a brand, and created perfumes adored by women

across the globe. I was just one of the people who’d been there before. Now he was living his best

life in the after.

And me, well, I’d been in a dark place for a while. Slowly but surely, I was letting the light back in, but there was something missing. I was an unfinished sentence with an ellipsis at the end. And maybe, if I was brave enough to take the chance, Dylan could be my happy ending.

How the Light Gets In is Book #2 and the concluding installment in L.H. Cosway’s Cracks duet.

Release Blitz: Wildcat by Max Monroe

Blurb:
Wildcat: a football formation in which the ball is snapped, not to the quarterback, but to another player lined up in the quarterback position.

Wild, Cat: a beautiful woman from the sky, who hooked me against the rails, and has me on the ropes. Sweet like honey, with a hint of sass burning behind her pretty brown eyes, she took over my heart without warning.

I’m Quinn Bailey, quarterback for the New York Mavericks.
Sports analysts predicted I’d break records and take my team all the way.

But no one predicted this.

And just like the other team, I never saw it coming.

Disclaimer:
Things this book is:
  • Romantic Comedy
  • #1 in the Mavericks Tackle Love Series

Things it isn’t:
  • Paranormal: The only thing magical is inside Quinn Bailey’s pants.
  • Boring: Pssh, please. Max Monroe doesn’t do boring.
  • Short: Prior to reading, prepare yourself for one huge, long, thick…book.

Review by Lisa Kane

"It only takes one minute of bravery. One minute of insane, embarrassingly crazy courage to change your life. Sometimes, it only takes that one minute for something great to happen."
Quinn Bailey is the quarterback for the New York Mavericks. He’s crazy talented, rich, gorgeous and…I guess he doesn’t really have any drawbacks. Oh, and he loves sex. But once training starts, he pretty much stays celibate. He’s got a few days off and he’s going flying back to see his parents and his brother Denver. His brother, Denver, is still in college and has a promising football career too. But his father puts way too much pressure on him. They also ignore the fact that he’s gay. But Quinn is close to Denver and if he has to put up with his aloof parents for him, then he will.
It’s just Quinn’s luck that he sits next to a demanding, over the top douche. He’s barely seated before the guy makes demands of the flight attendant. He wants a drink made with blah blah blah and it’s all Quinn can do to roll his eyes. But once he gets a good luck at the poor girl trying to serve Mr. Douche he is instantly smitten. (Yep, I used the word Smitten)
Her skin was like a glass of hot chocolate, the mocha swirling smoothly over the surface. The only imperfection was a tiny smattering of dots-brown freckles sprinkled like cinnamon across her nose-and the deep brown of her eyes worked to look warm despite the dickhead they were pointed at.
Je-sus, she's pretty.
I'll say it again...smitten.
Quinn manages to get a few words in with Cat. Real name Catherine Wild. She's funny and smart and has class. But a flight only lasts for so long and they end up landing early due to bad weather. Fate puts them on the same train headed to the same destination. Quinn isn't about to let this opportunity get by him and he makes sure he gets Cat's phone number.
Cat isn't big on sports, knows nothing about football and has no idea who Quinn is, so when she sees a bunch of fans surrounding him for autographs, she feels a big foolish.
Each flash of a camera and excited murmur was not fogged over or hazy in a dreamlike way. No. It was most definitely happening.
But what I couldn't understand was why.
Was Quinn Bailey someone important? Or more than that, someone famous?
And if that was the case, how in the heck had I not known that?
Don't you love the way her mind thinks of the word Heck? She's so cute!
Quinn saw Cat's face when she realized he was someone people recognized. She looked confused, and then a little hurt. He's not going to let his kitten (cute nickname!) get away.
Mouse. Meet cat.
Wildcat is funny and sexy and at times...a little bit sad. Good girl meets famous boy and a lot of people aren't fans of the two being together. There are obstacles like conflicting schedules and commitments and haters. Can this quarterback win the prize of his life and capture his kitten's heart?
"I don't follow my destiny. I choose it."

4.5 Stars
Review by Jen Skewes

Dylan McCoy is a song-writer who has just been betrayed by her rock star boyfriend, finding him in bed with another woman.  She just wants to go away and escape her life in LA and forget all about Jett Kroger.    But she is still under contract with the studio to write more songs for his new album.  She doesn’t have to be there to write the songs so she takes the break she needs from her everyday life, her home, her ex and basically her life.  She temporarily moves to a small town named Sunnyvale and stays with her brother’s friend, Grady Malone.

Grady is a hot and sexy firefighter who is also very damaged from the past two years.  This man had been carrying so much guilt around.  He lost someone close to him and has been blaming himself for two years.  But it is also his insecurities and fears that have also caused so much pain and hurt.  It is what has stopped him from truly living his life.  When it comes to his love life, he doesn’t get to close to women, doesn’t do commitment.  But then Dylan McCoy comes along and starts to peel back the layers of Grady Malone.  Piece by piece he begins to open up in ways that he hasn’t done in a long time.  She sees the pain and guilt that he carries with him every day.  And slowly he begins to heal a little bit at a time.  But Grady is not the only one that is hurting.  Dylan is still trying to get past her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal but there is so much more to her story.  She has her own fears and insecurities, ones that she lives with everyday.  But Grady Malone may be the one person who can help her get past those feelings of doubt that she has.  But the only problem is that he cannot offer her much.  He cannot give her what she deserves.

Grady and Dylan form a friendship that leads to a bit more.  But with Grady being fearful of the “C” word, Dylan is left wondering where this will even go.  She is falling for him hard, but knows that in a few months time she will be leaving.  They both heal each other in their own way, together I think in a way they both feel whole when with each other.   But is it enough for Grady to admit his feelings for Dylan?  Is it enough for him to want to break his own rules and give her everything that she deserves.

I LOVED this book.  When I started reading it, I didn’t realize that this was Grady Malone, Grant’s brother from Cuffed.  I have read and loved all of K. Bromberg’s books so I don’t even bother reading the blurb any more.  If Ms. Bromberg writes it, I read it.  And as always she did not disappoint.  I think with each book I find another book boyfriend to fall in love with.  I don’t know if anyone will ever take the palce of Colton, but Grady Malone dam sure comes very close.

What I really loved about this book was the instant connection between Grady and Dylan.  From the moment they met they just clicked.  There was this ease and comfort when it came to their friendship.  At times one may have stepped over the line with questions that were probably too soon to ask, but yet it never felt that way.  These two connected from the moment they met, they opened up and shared parts of themselves with each other.  It did not happen over night, it took time but little by little they both peeled away each other’s layers.  They both saw the saw and felt the pain that they each carried.  They both understood the dragons that they were trying to slay and were simply there for each other.

You know when you read a book and from the moment you start reading you just know?!!  You know that these two characters are meant to be together you know that they will work their way into your heart very easily.  And you feel that connection right away.  That is exactly what I felt with Dylan and Grady.   There’s the banter, the flirting, the real moments filled with emotion that they shared.  That is what I loved the most about this book.  I was captured from the beginning and did not want to let go.  There were moments of tears, moments that made me laugh but also moments that just broke my heart.  I loved every minute of this book, felt every emotion that these characters felt.  And in the end was left with a smile on my face.

Combust is a story about two beautiful people who are each fighting their own demons, their own fears and their own insecurities.  But together they find a way to heal.  They were just what the other needed in their life.  It may have been a slow road to get there, and it may have been filled with ups and downs but in the end they were both exactly where they belonged.   Another fantastic job by Ms. Bromberg.

EXCERPT

Preoccupied with a text on my phone from my agent, I walk into the kitchen and suck in a breath when I come face to back with Grady. He’s standing with his hand on the refrigerator door, head leaned inside, and his back fully exposed to me. It’s broad and strong and scarred immeasurably.

I stare.

I can’t help it. The marks are a dizzying array of dark and light and ridged and smooth. And they’re undeniably burns. Goosebumps chase over my skin as I imagine the pain he must have endured when he got those. I think of his habit of wearing unbuttoned shirts but never going shirtless and the hint of scars just visible above his collar that I never could have imagined led to this roadmap to hell on his back.

A part of me instinctively wants to reach out to touch them, bring some kind of comfort. It sounds ridiculous, even to me, but that doesn’t abate the urge.

“Not pretty, huh? Get a good look while you can.” His voice is gruff as his spine stiffens and body stills, emotion woven through the words.

“Thank God not all of you is pretty. I was beginning to feel majorly insecure having to live with perfection like you,” I say off the cuff, trying to make this situation less awkward. My attempt to settle the sudden tension sparking in the air around us.

“Perfection?” he asks as he turns to face me with a smile that masks the emotion swirling in his eyes.

“Yeah. You have scars. I have mermaid thighs.”

“Mermaid thighs?” He laughs. “What in the world are you talking about?”

“Thighs that touch from the top all the way to my knees.” I shrug as if it doesn’t bug me, as if I’m not highlighting one of the insults Tara threw at me. It’s a whole lot easier to make fun of myself so long as it puts him at ease.

“Do you ever give yourself a break?”

Do you?” I ask the question, sparking a silent battle of wills as we stare at each other and wonder what to say next about the other’s insecurities. Coming up empty, I shift gears. “I think there is some type of rule about how many abs are fair for a guy to have when the rest of us are just struggling to find one of them.”

His smile rings more genuine as he steps toward me, and I step back, my hips leaning against the counter now.

“Is that so?” His voice lowers as his eyes flick to my lips and then back up. “I’m sure you have some under your shirt there.”

Why does the simple action make it seem so hard to swallow?

He takes another step.

“What are you building outside?”

“A playroom.”

A nervous chuckle falls from my lips as I think of all of the versions of playrooms I’ve read about in my romance books. My cheeks stain red as I imagine Grady with a flogger in one hand standing beside a St. Andrew’s Cross.

“A playroom?”

“Yeah.” He takes a step closer so we’re breathing the same air, his voice husky enough to cause every part of my body to grow alert. “A playroom. You know . . . a pool table. Foosball. A real man cave.”

I exhale a shaky sigh, suddenly more than aware that he’s so close, shirtless, sweaty, and smelling like sun and soap mixed together. But it’s his eyes that make my thoughts falter. There’s an intensity to them I don’t expect from the perpetually cheerful Grady Malone.

“Ah, that kind of playroom . . .” But my words trail off as he steps even closer and braces his hands on the counter on either side of me. I can hear his intake of breath. The music floating in from outside. The pound of my pulse in my ears.

“Hey, Dyl?”

“Yes?” Our eyes hold, my lips fall lax.

“I need you to open up.”

What?” I question as his hand brushes against my hip and his fingers pull on the drawer handle I’m standing in front of.

“I need the bottle opener. You’re standing in front of the drawer it’s in.” His lips spread into a full-fledged grin as I scramble away from the counter and, of course, run smack dab into the hardness, all six foot plus of him.

And then I rebound off him again in a flustered state that has him laughing and me stuttering. “Sorry. I wasn’t—I didn’t . . .” His arms hold on to my biceps to steady me, which prompts me to look up and meet his eyes.

“We need to stop meeting like this,” he murmurs, the heat of his breath hitting my lips.

“We do.” Brilliant, Dylan. Freaking brilliant response. “I’ve gotta . . . I’ve gotta get back to . . . to writing.”
