A hot and hilarious new standalone from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan.
We met in a trapped elevator.
Emmett was on his way to work, sophisticated and handsome in his tailored suit and tie.I was on my way to the sperm bank. Awkward, right?
At thirty-five, my life hadn’t taken the path I thought it would and I was tired of waiting—I wanted a baby. And I was ready to take matters into my own hands to make it happen.
After our ill-fated elevator encounter, Emmett insisted on taking me to dinner—he also insisted on something else—that I ditch my plan involving a turkey baster and let him do the job. He would be my baby daddy. He was a wealthy and powerful CEO with little interest in diapers or playdates. And since he didn’t want kids, I’d be on my own once his bun was in my oven, free to go my own way.
But once his baby was inside me, it was like a switch had been flipped, and I got a whole lot more than I ever bargained for.
This full-length standalone contains a hot, swoonworthy hero, lots of playful banter and some hot baby-making ! Enjoy.

Jenna is on her way to the fertility clinic. She's one step closer to her achieving her dream-the one that includes a baby. She can't keep waiting for Mr. Right when she's too busy even to meet Mr. Wrong. But the elevator that she's in-the one that's going to whisk her up to the floor where her dream can begin, well it gets stuck. Right after Mr. Hotness gets on.
Just before the doors close, a large, strong-looking hand shoves between them and they retreat. A man in a crisp navy suit and a white shirt steps inside-and damn, what a man.
Gorgeous guy knows she's eyeing him up. He's even smirking about it. Emmett is young, rich and a workaholic. The only time he really stops working is when he's bedding some beautiful woman who he'll bed and then ditch. Sex is his way of blowing off steam. It's practically a necessity.
I love my dick.
That's a fact.
When two people are stuck in an elevator, it's amazing how that small space somehow leads to revelations. Deepest desires are revealed. Emmett knows this building well. He knows what clinic is on the floor Jenna pressed. When he starts questioning her, it's not long before she tells him her plan to have a baby. Without a man. Just with a man's sperm. End of story.
It's almost like the universe is laughing at me. Mocking my decision to give up on finding a partner to plant his seed in my garden of love.
Only it's not the end of their story. Things are gonna get real interesting. Emmett is a no committal kind of guy. But when his sperm meets Jenna's egg-well maybe he's not as uninterested as he thought.
It's becoming harder to convince myself that I'm still that same non-father-material person who met her in the elevator a couple of months ago.
Emmett has baggage. Lots of baggage. But does he have to commit his life to all work and no love? Do the sins of the father always have to haunt the son? Is Jenna more than just the baby mama?
"There are not guarantees in life. If you're afraid to try, you'll miss all the good stuff."
