Review: Jockblocked (Gridiron #2) by Jen Frederick

She’s always played it safe…

College junior Lucy Washington abides by one rule—avoid risk at all costs. She’s cautious in every aspect of her life, from her health, to her mock trial team, to the boring guys she dates. When a brash, gorgeous jock walks into the campus coffeeshop and turns his flirt on, Lucy is stunned by the force of attraction. For the first time ever, she’s willing to step out of her comfort zone, but can she really trust the guy who’s determined to sweep her off her feet?

He’s always played around…

Entering his last year of college eligibility, linebacker Matthew "Matty" Iverson has the team captaincy in his sights. And it’s his for the taking, if he can convince his quarterback Ace Anderson to give up the starting position. Luckily, Matty already has an edge—the hottie he’s lusting over just happens to be Ace’s childhood best friend. Getting Lucy on his side and in his bed? Hell yeah. Matty is more than confident he can have both, but when he falls hard for Lucy, it’s time for a new game plan: convince the woman of his dreams that she’s not sleeping with the enemy.

4 Stars!

Review by Natasha Gentile

This is the first time I’ve read this author so I went in blind if you may.

This was a really fun read and kept me entertained from beginning to end.

Matthew Iverson is a sexy linebacker extraordinaire and future captain, if he has anything to say about it.

Lucy Watson is a friend of Ace's, from the first book Sacked.  The minute that Matty sets his eyes on her it’s game over.

Like any other woman Lucy flat out denies Matty.  She fights to the death while thinking that Matty is not her type.  Nope, not for her.  She’s not a risk taker, she has everything written down and planned for her.  Her life is on a schedule and that schedule doesn’t include becoming Matty’s conquest!  I mean he’s the poster child of a man whore.

“What are we doing"
“We’re enjoying each other.”
“For how long?”
Forever is a good start in my book but this is my careful girl and she needs a careful answer.
“However long you want it.”

What I loved most about this story is that it wasn’t wham bam thank you ma’am.  Matty and Lucy actually became friends before doing the sexual tango! It made you root for Matty even more!

I loved that Lucy didn’t let Matty walk all over her and gave back as good as she got.  The only thing that bothered me is her lack of confidence for herself and in their relationship.

I mean it wasn’t smooth sailing.  For Lucy it was her insecurities and for Matty it was his team and being their leader. Things were thrown at them but Matty held fast to Lucy, which made me fall in love with him a little bit more.

For someone who never really had a relationship he didn’t let the outside forces come inside of their relationship!
