Cover Reveal: The Last Post by Renee Carlino

A brand new evocative and poignant standalone from USA TODAY Bestseller Renee Carlino releasing on AUGUST 20th, 2019!

In this evocative and poignant novel from the USA TODAY bestselling author of Blind Kiss and Wish You Were Here, a young widow in the midst of grieving her late husband through Facebook posts learns to heal and fall in love again.

“See you on the other side.”

Laya Marston’s husband, Cameron, a daredevil enthusiast, always said this before heading off on his next adventure. He was the complete opposite of her, ready and willing to dive off a cliff-face, or parachute across a canyon—and Laya loved him for it. But she was different: pragmatic, regimented, devoted to her career and to supporting Cameron from the sidelines of his death-defying feats.

Opposites attract, right?

But when Cameron dies suddenly and tragically, all the stages of grief go out the window. Laya becomes lost in denial, living in the delusion that Cameron will come back to her. She begins posting on his Facebook page, reminiscing about their life together, and imagining new adventures for the two of them.

Micah Evans, a young and handsome architect at Laya’s father’s firm, is also stuck––paralyzed by the banal details of his career, his friendships, and his love life. He doesn’t know what he’s looking for, only that there is someone out there who can bring energy and spirit to the humdrum of his life.

When Micah discovers Laya’s tragic and bizarre Facebook posts, he’s determined to show Laya her life is still worth living. Leaving her anonymous gifts and notes, trying to recreate the sense of adventure she once shared with her late husband, Micah finds a new passion watching Laya come out of the darkness. And Laya finds a new joy in the experiences Micah has created for her.

But for Laya, letting another man in still feels like a betrayal to her late husband. Even though Micah may be everything she could wish for, she wonders if she deserves to find happiness again.

Written with Renée Carlino’s signature “tender and satisfying” (Taylor Jenkins Reid, author of Maybe in Another Life) prose, this warm and compassionate novel shows us how powerful the courage to love and live again truly is.

into a downward spiral. It has taken Tess years to find herself and become a
person she can be proud of. Now Beau is back and making a play for her heart…a

Review by Jen Skewes

I love this series.  I adore the characters, the interactions with each other and how much of a family they all are.  Crazy Beautiful Love is a sweet and heart warming story.  It tells the story of the one Allen brother who has not been around often, Beau.  He has missed out on so much over the years and has taken a little sabbatical from his job to spend more time with his family.  At some point panning to go back to traveling the world.  Unless there is something, or shall I say someone that will keep him in the small town of Heaven.
Tess moved to Heaven about four years ago to take care of her grandmother's flower shop. She has come best friends with Mo and Claire and has become an honorary member of the Allen family.  But with Beau back in town she his not sure if she can still spend dinners with them.   Despite the fact that he is just s hot as all of the Allen boys, he is the one that she dislikes the most.  She blames him for reining her life back in high school.  She never forgot what he did, even if he has no recollection of it or who she is.

As time goes by and they begin to send more time together, they become friends and so much more.  There is no denying that attraction that they have for each other, or how explosive they are when together.  The chemistry between them is palpable.  But it can't go any further than that.  Beau isn't one to stick around and Tess has a hard time getting close to someone for fear of getting hurt.   Are they both willing to make sacrifices for love?

I really enjoyed Tess and Beau's story.  He is sweet and loving and completely sown worthy.  I loved how he watched out for Tess, how he sported her and wanted to see be the best she can be.  He has a he heart.  Tess is sweet, funny, kind and a lovable heroine.  I love this series because once you start reading, you become submerged in their lives and find yourself smiling most of the way.  Grayson has a way with making your heart melt and your cheeks blush.  I loved getting to visit with all my favorite people of Heaven.  I cannot wait to see who is next.

Book Blurb:

He’s known as Father Anton to his teammates—the brooding, sexy captain of the NHL’s Chicago Blaze has a reputation for…not having a reputation. Just like his diet and sleep routines, celibacy is part of Anton Petrov’s on-ice mojo. Or so they say. Anton stays mum on the subject. If the world thinks he chooses to abstain from sex, so be it. Better that than the truth getting out: there is a woman he burns for, but he can never have her. She’s his teammate’s wife, after all.

Mia Marceau is finally on her own. Now that she and her husband are living apart, she’s finding the peace she was desperate for. She spends her days in classes and late nights bartending, making her own way in the world at last. After what she’s been through, as long as her husband leaves her alone, she doesn’t plan to rock the boat. He still has the power to hurt those dearest to her, and she can’t demand a divorce with such a high cost.

A chance encounter with Mia has Anton hoping for a shot he never thought he’d get. And while she’s drawn to the intense, serious hockey center, Mia’s leery about playing with fire. That’s all Anton has ever known for Mia, though—a living, burning desire that won’t be denied—no matter the cost.

Release Blitz: Hollywood Playboy by Natasha Madison

Jessica

An entertainment journalist was the last thing I thought I would be doing.

I thought once I got my degree, I would be reporting on stories that made a difference, but now all I do is report on who broke up with who and who is dating who.

I was over it.

Then I got my next assignment.

He’s Hollywood’s bad boy.

He works hard, and he plays even harder.

He’s rude, he’s condescending, and he’s made it known he doesn’t want me on the tour.

With one month on the road with him, two things might happen

One, I may never work in this industry again.

Two, I may just be like everyone else and fall for Hollywood’s Playboy.

Review by Lisa Kane

I just love a story about Hollywood! You know the ones where the actor falls for someone not in the business or the actress falls for her security guard. That's guaranteed drama right there!

Tyler Beckett is Hollywood's bad boy box office magnet right now. His every move is newsworthy and the paparazzi sell thousands of dollars worth of stories stalking him. Tyler's learned to ignore most of them, but one journalist in particular, Jessica Hawthorn just rubs him the wrong way. She asks the tough questions, even the ones that he's banned from being asked. She just doesn't have any boundaries. Or so Tyler thinks anyway.

When the powers that be concoct a crazy publicity move that involves ten journalists traveling all around the world with him while he promotes his latest movie, Tyler's less than thrilled. When he finds out Jessica is one of the chosen he just about loses it.

"Because so are we. You don't go on a mega press tour and not invite the biggest entertainment journalist along for the ride. There's no negotiation here, Tyler, so nut up and pack your bags."

But he has to suck it up. That's what he gets paid to do. He'll make the best of it and Cassie, his assistant promises him that when this is finished, he can take a long extended vacation on his ranch.

Meanwhile, Jessica is hell bent to get out of this latest assignment. Tyler Beckett grates on her nerves and she knows nothing good will come of her covering his tour.

"Do you know how many people would die to be on that plane with Tyler freaking Beckett?" she asks me, and I just shake my head.

Match, meet spark.

Oh there's lots of fireworks between these two, but just below the surface, just waiting for the flames to be fanned is chemistry. Enough to fill the whole periodic table. Oh this is gonna be so good!

Tyler: Pick you up in thirty, dress warm.
Me: No.
Tyler: See you then, Room 1712, right?
Me: No means No
Tyler: Fine, then we can sit in your bed all day and watch Dateline while you lie there NAKED and RELAX.
Me: I'll be ready in thirty.

He pushes forward, she retreats. He wants more, she wants to apply the brakes.

But he's a guy and we all know they are genetically programed to screw up. Lots of times. So expect things to go boom. Hearts to break. Tears to fall.

"It hurts," I admit. "Everything hurts. Even breathing."

He might screw up a time or two, but Tyler hasn't risen to the top of Tinsel Town without becoming very resourceful. And determined.

"Tell me you don't feel anything for me." His eyes bore into me. "Tell me that the last four days weren't the worst of your life." Tell me that when I held you in my arms just now, you didn't feel it."

Now who can resist this Hollywood Playboy?

Once Upon A Time

I dreamed of growing up and being just like her.
I dreamed of having an adoring husband, two kids, and a beautiful home where my family would come together and enjoy all of our happy ever afters.

But Fate Had Other Plans

My road wasn’t easy, it was heartbreaking, and she was there, in the distance, silently supporting me.
When all the angst, all the pain, worked its way out, she was there too, but not how she’d always promised, she was there from an unbridgeable distance.

With distance and broken promises, I began to build a wall.

She would never be the mother she was, and I would not allow her to hinder the mother I am.

Life is nothing without love.
Life is nothing without hope.
Life is nothing without dreams.
And
Life is not lived fully until you understand the finality of… Goodbye.

Review by Lisa Kane

Expect tears to flow with this one! Anytime I get to read about London and Logan and Luke and Ava and Lucas and Tessa (my fav couple!) I feel like I'm spending time with old friends. Crazy old friends, but still characters that I've come to know and love.

Logan is in a world of pain, he's been hiding something from his family for over a year and inside, he's just bleeding. He wants to share with his sister, Ava, but she's just had another baby and he's been sworn to secrecy. London and Logan have been hiding how serious their relationship is-yet another secret.

"You're Logan Links, and you're my forever."

Ava and Luke are in a really good place. Ava just gave birth to baby Faith and together with Hope and Chance, their lives are crazy busy. Luke still wants more kids -this guy is a glutton for punishment!

"Ava," he turns my stool so I'm facing him. "I love you. You love me. Nothing has ever or will ever change that. It's just gonna grow."

But there's one person who isn't as involved in their lives as they would all like and that's going to be the root of this story. There are multiple POV's in this book, and each one adds a layer to all that is unfolding around them.

27 Truths About Their First Goodbye is heartbreakingly beautiful. A hated character finally shows that there are reasons for actions and for distancing yourself from your family. Desperate times call for desperate actions. But sometimes, no matter how hard the fight is, you can't always win.

"Dignity and grace, Ava...Lane. One thing I always tried to hold on to, no matter how hard things got. Dignity and grace. " "And style," I whisper.

The title isn't just a clever take on continuing this series but the 27 Truths actually exist. There is a reason for this title, (cue the sobbing) and each of those 27 reasons is beautiful and sad and so true. I love these characters, I don't think I will ever get tired reading about them.

"Heartstrings to angel wings, Ashley."

Excerpt
It’s
not hard to figure out where my husband’s room is. It’s the one with half the
ER staff, all of the female persuasion, standing outside the door, peering
through the glass windows as if they’re watching a television show.
I
feel my blood boil as I quicken my steps and I don’t even say excuse me, no
manners, none, I just push past them.
“Miss,
you need to—”
“Oh,
shut it,” I snap as I push through the final group of nurses.
“Well
hello, Pretty.” Logan beams a big old smile and lifts his hand. “I have a
boo-boo.”
“Yeah?
Well, I hope it hurt,” I scowl.
He
grins… Logan doesn’t grin, he smirks, he smiles… when we’re alone. But he’s
typically a broody asshole in public, which I prefer, and not for any other
reason than his grin clearly brings on attention, and he’s taken, I even put a
ring on it.
“Put
that thing away, stow it, save it for—”
“London.”
Lucas’s hand clasps gently on my shoulder.
I
whip around and scowl at him, and he grins. What the hell is it with these men?
“You
too!”
He
looks shocked, maybe even a bit scared, okay, not scared, but at least nervous.
I
look back at Logan. “What the hell were you thinking?”
“Miss,
if you can’t calm down, we’re going to have to ask you to leave.”
I
look back. “Oh really?”
I
cross my hands over my chest, tap my foot on the ground, and challenge the
ever-loving shit out of her.
“London.”
Lucas tries to stop me, but that bitch looks thirsty. I scowl one last time at
her and her blonde hair and big tits.
“You
should wipe the drool—”
“Okay,
now.” Lucas’s hands grip my shoulders from the back and turn me to face Logan.
“Let’s focus our attention here.”
“I’m
so pissed at you,” I sputter.
“I
know—”
“No,
I don’t think you do know, Logan. You don’t just take off, beat up a steering
wheel… hide. From them, maybe.” I toss my thumb over my shoulder at Lucas and
Ava. “But never me. Do you understand? Am I making myself clear?” He starts to
open his mouth, and I sneer, “I am not done yet.”
His
eyes widen a bit, and I continue, “You ever do that crap again, and I will do
it back, and then you’ll understand how much it hurt.”
My
voice cracks, my eyes fill, but I push through. “You want this,” I motion
between us, “Then you don’t ever, ever do that to me again because I
will—”
“London,”
he slurs. Is he high? “Get the fuck over here.”
“No,”
I sniff. “No, I will not.”
Now
my tears fall.
“Pretty,
I have two hands.”
“Yet only half a brain,” Lucas whispers under
his breath.
I
look back at him, shocked, because Lucas never acts like that toward his kids.
Ever.
I
expect him to give me his flirty Lucas, haha look, but he doesn’t. He pats my
shoulders, then he turns around and runs his hand through his hair.
“London,”
Logan says in a sing-song, not Logan voice, drawing my attention back to his
apparently stoned self. “And a tongue, Pretty, don’t be mad.”
“Oh
my God, just shut up, will you?” I cover my face.
“What,
now you don’t want me? Jesus, make up your mind, will ya?”
“I
want you, Logan, I want you to shush, just…. close your eyes and sleep.”
“Will
I wake up to you under the cov—”
“Logan,
if I get near that dumb stick right now, I’d yank it off and play whack-a-mole
with your head, praying to God above it would be hard enough to knock you out
so you’d shut up!”
He
grins again.
God…. What the hell am I going to do with him?
“Get.
Over. Here.” He pulls the covers over, exposing… way too much. “It’s cuddle
season.”
“Good
God.” I hurry over and pull the blanket back over him.
“What?
You don’t like him anymore?”
“Logan,
when you come off whatever pain med they doped you up with, you’re going to
probably die of embarrassment. I’d prefer you not do that.”
He
wipes away a fallen tear from my cheek. “Wasn’t running from you, Pretty. Just
couldn’t stop… laughing.”
“So,
laugh if you want to. Nothing wrong —”
“I
couldn’t stop.” He lays back and closes his eyes, and I sit beside him.
“So,
what,” I whisper. “You deserve to laugh, to be happy, to be you.”
“Who
the fuck am I now anyway?” He sighs.
“You’re
Logan Links, and you’re my forever.”

Then I met his wife—his pregnant wife.
And I had no other choice but to leave Castle Beach for good.
Ten years later, I’m back to sell my parents’ house and leave behind the memories of that perfect summer, once and for all.
But my plans for a quick visit are hindered by a sexy single dad.
I’m older and wiser, but so is he… and this time, he says he’s not going to let me go without a fight.

Picture Perfect Summer AMAZON .jpg4 stars
Rev new by Trinette Dungee

“The shape of your smile is carved in my heart”
Who knew Duke King would be so romantic? I sure didn’t.  We first met Duke in Picture Perfect Lie and Big Talking Man/Picture Perfect Marriage books for his younger siblings, Knight and Quinn; and he just came across as this brooding older brother who happened to be a single father. We knew he’d been hurt by love and his ex-wife had left him to raise their daughter on his own, but color me surprised to find out that it wasn’t his ex-wife that had him heartbroken.
At the young age of twenty-five, Duke King was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. His father committed suicide, he was now CEO of their family’s business (which he never wanted), the IRS was investigating them, their assets were frozen, their employees aren’t getting paid, he’s being older brother and father to his youngest sibling Laird, and he’s in the process of divorcing his wife who’d cheated on him with his best friend. There isn’t a lot going on to be happy about or to make him smile; until his surf board whacked True Prince in the shin. True is bubbly, happy and just what he needs. It takes him no time to fall in love with her. Finally, things are looking up for him until his soon to be ex-wife drops a major bombshell.
True Prince is a Farley easy going woman, she’s just graduated college and is looking forward to starting her teaching career. Her biggest decision is if she should come home to North Carolina to a teaching job or head back to Arizona where she’s just graduated. Running into Duke King’s surf board made that decision a lot harder. Instant attraction to him and the two are having the summer of their lives. Love came fast and hard and True’s decision is just about made until Duke’s soon to be ex-wife gives him news that send True running.
Ten years later and True has temporarily returned to Castle Beach and she and Duke find themselves back in each other’s arms; but ten years is a long time. Duke has a solid life and is a single father to a ten-year old; True has her own life and a job she loves back in Arizona. True is he one thing missing from his life and he has just a little bit of time to prove to her that they belong together and he’s not willing to let her go.
I love second chance romance stories and I love single parent stories and I got the best of both worlds with this book; so needless to say, I adored this book! It was cute, it was funny, it was romantic…it had everything I needed the day I read it. If you are person who just loves love and romance just make you giddy, then this is definitely the book for you.
True and Duke’s story is told in two parts; ten years ago, when they first met and present day. In the beginning I wasn’t so sure I like the breakdown of how the story was being told but by the time I was less than halfway through the first part, I was loving it. There were some occurrences that had me questioning the timeline and I wasn’t all that keen on how Duke tied up loose ends with his ex-wife but it but these things weren’t deal breakers. These two were far too enjoyable for me to let a little thing like that really bother me. I really loved these characters. From the first scene they clicked, their chemistry was off the charts and they just fit. True was the perfect amount of quirky and Duke was just the right amount of reserved.
I can see some saying things just happened way too fast but the way Marquita tells this story, it just worked! Sometimes you need that. You need for things to just happen.
In the first two books in this series there were a few supporting characters that instantly made me curious; Laird (who’s missing at sea), Deacon (the least friendly of the Kings and possible alcoholic), Duke and then there was Campbell’s (Knight’s wife), little brother Caine. At the end of the previous book it looked like we were going to get Barron’s story (the second oldest King sibling), so I was thrilled when I realized it was actually going to be Duke’s story.
Marquita is one of the few others I love who can manage to tell multiple stories in one story. In this book we get a little more background on missing brother Laird and his wife Ophelia. One of my favorite lines in this book doesn’t come from Duke or True; it comes from Ophelia when she’s talking to Duke about the relationship between her and Laird:
“Just know that we will find a way. I will always find my way to Laird…not even an ocean could keep up apart.”

Fast forward ten years in Duke and True’s story and Laird is missing at sea……eeeeekkkkk!!! Does this mean what I think it mean?!

Excerpt:
Duke jogs up the stairs, looking so fine that I want to take a picture and post it on Instagram for the entire world to see. “ “You look pretty.”

My cheeks heat and I all but twist my foot around in awkward celebration. “Thanks. So do you. I mean, not pretty. Good. You look good.”

A smile pushes at the corners of his mouth, transforming his sexy good looks into positively sinful. I get so hot that I start fanning my face. “It’s a little hot this evening, isn’t it?”

“No more than usual.” He offers me his arm and I have the presence of mind to take it before we walk to his truck parked on the driveway below the porch. “It’s a lot cooler in my truck, so you shouldn’t melt on the way to Ten Blue.”

“That’s very considerate of you. I’m really excited about dinner.” I moan happily. “All the seafood.”

He doesn’t reply right away, or at all until he opens the passenger side door. Maybe the happy moan was too much? I don’t know, but I make the same noise when I eat food I like, or at least Sunny accuses me of moaning like a ghost in church. Not really sure about that analogy. Sunny’s from SoCal, so who knows really.

“I’m sure you’ll have plenty to choose from and if you don’t, we can ask.” He pauses as I climb inside and I take the opportunity to spend a great deal of time getting situated.

“Fair warning. I like to eat. I really like to eat my favorite food, so if the happy moaning bothered you, I’ll try to keep it to a three.”

His brow quirks. “Out of three?”

I snort. “Five. Duh.”

“You really are an odd duck,” he says, but it sounds more like a compliment than an insult, so that warm feeling he’s inspired in me grows. “Anything else you need to warn me about before we go?”

I shake my head. “Not that I can think of.”

“Damn. I was kinda hoping you did.” He winks at me and shuts the door on my shocked face.
