Release Blitz: Crazy Stupid Love by KL Grayson

Title: Crazy Stupid Love

A Dirty Dicks Standalone Novel
Author: K.L. Grayson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 20, 2018

Blurb

There’s a special place in hell for a man like
me—a man who shamelessly sleeps with his best friend’s little sister, knowing
he’ll never be what she needs. A man who takes because the only thing he has to
offer in return is a broken past that’s destined to destroy his future.

I was the kid who grew up on the wrong side of
the tracks with shit parents and clothes that had been handed down one too many
times. I stole to feed my sister, fought to protect her, and I’ll always be the
guy your parents don’t want you to bring home.

So yeah, that’s me. Lincoln Bennett. Adley
Allen’s walk on the wild side. Her dirty little secret. And I’m okay with
that—ninety-nine percent of the time. Unfortunately today is in that one
percent when it doesn’t sit well with me. For some strange reason, I want to be
around to celebrate all of Adley’s successes. I want to be here when she gets
her first job and take her out to dinner after her first shift. I want to be
the one she depends on, the person she calls when she has a bad day. Or a great
day. Or any kind of day.

I want more than her body. I want her heart.
But men like me don’t get women like her.

At least not to keep.

Review by Jen Skewes

I absolutely love this series and could not wait for Adley and Lincoln’s book. We knew that they were together after reading the last book but I wanted so much more of them.    I wanted to know everything there was to know about Lincoln and see their relationship turn into something more.

Lincoln is Rhett’s best friend and has been warned by him to stay away from his little sister Adley.  And he did, until she walked into the bar one night and stole his heart.  One night between the two of them turned into many nights of being together.  But it was nothing more than just sex between the two of them.  Adley is still focusing on school and her career and Lincoln does not believe in love.  He has abandonment issues and given the abuse he suffered growing up, he does not believe that love exists.  While he cannot stay away from Adley he also believes that he is not good enough for her and should stay away.

At some point Adley wants more and Lincoln has come to realize that maybe he does too.  They have still managed to keep their relationship hidden, but now that they are both ready to take the next step will their family approve?  Can Lincoln truly get past his issues and give Adley what she needs and deserves.

I loved Lincoln.  He is a very broken man and rightfully so.  He managed to give away his heart without even knowing it.  What I loved is how easy is was for the two of them to be together.  Adley never for one minute believed that Lincoln was not good enough for her and she wanted to prove to him how amazing he really is.  He has a huge heart, is loving, sweet and caring and he deserves to be happy just as much as she does.  Adley is strong and isn’t afraid to go after what she wants, and she wants more from Lincoln.  They were perfect together.

I really loved this book, all though the beginning for me was a little repetitive when it came to the sex scenes.  But I was able to get past that especially when we got the the emotional part of this story.  Because there are moments that will melt your heart but also break it.  There was not a ton of drama but enough to make you feel.  And I felt it all with them.  I love the supporting characters and how much we get to see of them.  There is one relationship that I loved watching grow a little and become a little bit stronger.  I love all the characters and cannot wait for the next one.

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert

Book Blurb:

She spends her nights treating patients, but Dr. Jocelyn Drake's own wounds are unfixable. Her ex-husband and his younger, bouncier girlfriend work just a few floors away at Tulane Medical Center, and they serve as a constant reminder of what Joss lost. But a fierce determination to continue her research project and a shred of remaining pride keep Joss from transferring out of the Big Easy.
Carson Stephens recently returned from a tour of duty in the Middle East, and though willing women present themselves at every turn, his closest companion is loneliness. His night-shift work supervising the electrical and mechanical systems at the hospital is a perfect fit - it's solitary work putting broken things back together.
When the electrical system on Joss' floor goes haywire, she's frazzled by the sexy electrician who sparks her dormant sex drive. He's brooding and cocky - so not her type. But if Carson has his way, his hands will work their magic on more than just the wiring, and he'll show Joss a night of passion that restores her shattered confidence.
But what happens after that night? As their relationship grows into something more, Joss and Carson face ups and downs, and they both realize that the healing has only just begun.

Review by Trinette Dungee

Dr. Joss Drake’s love life is really in the toilet. What’s worse is her ex-husband the nurse he cheated on her work just a few floors down in the ER and everyone Tulane University Medical Center knows this. So she basically keeps her head down and concentrates on her research project that she fought to get approved.
Carson Stephens is pretty okay with his quiet uneventful nightshift position at the hospital. He’s seen enough action while serving a few tours of duty to last him a lifetime. When he happens across Joss, his nights liven up and so does his desire to shred the quiet solitude he’s been living.
In this book things moved pretty fast, one minute Joss and Carson are awkward around each other and in the next, sexual innuendos are flying and they’re in bed together. In the author’s notes she states that this was initially written as a short novella but she then expanded a bit on it. There were times when I felt like something was missing from the story but for the most part it was an okay read. It was quick and fun and I liked the characters. It’s kind of a love at first sight or instant love story.

EXCERPT:
I was smiling before I even opened my eyes. The smell of Carson on my sheets had that effect. We’d both worked third shift last night and then come to my place to sleep. Well, we slept after epic sex, followed by omelets from a nearby diner.
I wished he was still in bed next to me, but I’d heard him get up and leave a couple of hours ago. He just didn’t need as much sleep as me. Five hours seemed to be his max.
I was pretty sure I didn’t have a max, but my minimum was seven hours. I always had to be prepared for my next shift at the hospital to run over.
After a quick shower, I dried my hair and dressed in jeans and a T-shirt. When I walked into my kitchen to brew coffee, I smiled when I saw that Carson had already put in a filter and grounds for me. I pushed the brew button and went to unload the clean dishes from my dishwasher.
He’d already done that, too. The man was so incredibly nice to have around. He was sexy as hell and amazing in bed, but he was also considerate in ways I’d never known in a man. Even after just a couple of weeks, I was attached.
I wondered where he was. He’d been restless this morning when we’d gone to sleep. Lots of tossing and turning was his usual, though. I suspected he was plagued by bad dreams, but I didn’t want to bring it up. He’d tell me if he wanted me to know.
Hopefully, he was at the gym, which always seemed to clear his head. I’d gone with him a couple of times, but my workout game was . . . not strong. He’d patiently taught me how to lift light weights and skipped his own workout to oversee mine. And even the light weights were damn heavy and left me sore for days.
I preferred to get my exercise from walking. I picked up my cell phone and texted Hattie to see if she could meet me at a café a couple of miles from my place. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and I was in the mood to walk somewhere.
She wrote right back and said sure, so I put on my walking shoes and sunglasses and set off.

Blog Tour: Knocked Up by Stacey Lynn

KnockedUp-SBPRBANNER-BT
Knocked Up by Stacey Lynn
Publication Date: June 12th, 2018
Genre: Contemporary Romance

First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes baby in a baby carriage. Just not necessarily in that order....

Braxton: I should probably be dead or in jail right now. Instead, thanks to some tough love, I worked my ass off and now I own a string of tattoo parlors throughout the Pacific Northwest. And yet the one thing I’ve always wanted—a family—still seems out of reach. When my best friend gets married, I’m just hoping to blow off some steam with the super-hot maid of honor. But after Cara Thompson tracks me down to tell me she’s pregnant, she’s more surprised than I am when I tell her I’m all in.

Cara: For the first time in my life, I’m living for myself—not for my parents and their ridiculous expectations. I gave up on my MBA, dropped out of the Ivy League, and moved to Portland to pursue my dream of becoming an artist. And what’s the first thing I do? Get knocked up. For a tatted-up sex god, Braxton Henley seems way too eager to “be there for me.” Is this guy serious? Maybe. He sure is patient. Because he won’t back down until I admit what I know in my heart: that our one night stand might’ve led me to the one.

Review by Jen Skewes

I loved this book. From the moment I started reading it I was completely sucked in.  I think it may have something to do with Braxton, the sexy tattoed hero of this story.   But this book is the reason why I have always loved Stacey Lynn’s writing.  It’s the fun, sweet moments that are filled with witty banter.  The dynamic between two characters who seem to be complete opposites, but growing up on opposite sides of the tracks.   A fun, sweet, beautiful story that will make you laugh, swoon, and also feel with these characters.

Cara is the girl who has never had a one-night stand, ever!!!  On the night of her best friend’s wedding, with a little liquid coverage she sleeps with the groom’s best friend.  Waking up the next morning, she has no idea to handle this situation, so she leaves while he is still asleep.  Weeks later she finds out that her one-night stand has left her with pregnant and not knowing what to do.  She has to tell Braxton that he is going to be a father, but first she needs to comes to terms with this surprise news herself.

Braxton is a sexy tattoo artist who is not normally the guy that Cara goes for.  But that night one night with him completely rocked her world.  She has thought of him since but never thought she would see him again.  But now she must face him and tell him that she is carrying his baby.  At first she is a little caught off guard by his reaction to her being there.  But when he later tells her that he is all in, she is eve more surprised.  Can they make it work between the two of them when they seem to be doing things a little backwards?  Braxton is all in, but is Cara?

I have to say that Braxton is the perfect book boyfriend.  He is sexy, covered in tattoos and my God when he says he wants to take care of Cara, he does in a way that will make you swoon.  He certainly swept me off my feet.  He had a tough childhood but the man that he has become is someone that you will adore.  He is sweet an caring, sexy and hot and will just capture your heart.

Cara grew up in a completely different world than Braxton did, but the connection between the two of them worked.  I think in ways they understood each other and their pasts and their family did not define who they were.  Cara was a great heroine who I loved.  She is sweet and independent in a way that is new to her but she learned how to ask for help. she had a gorgeous man ready to be there for her and she had reservations but at the same time wanted to be all in.  These two were so perfect for each other.  Their connection alone is what I loved about them, the ease that they felt with each other and the back and forth banter just made me smile.

Knocked Up was a fun and witty read with just the right amount of drama.  I loved feeling what these characters felt, even in the moments when they talked about their past, I felt what they went through. I loved the story, the writing and I loved the characters.  Great job!!!

KnockedUP-AN

Excerpt:
I quickly take everything off and drape the paper sheet over my lap, leaving my socks on, and when I’m ready, the edges of the sheet tucked under my thighs and backside, Pam knocks on the door.

“Ready?” she calls as she’s already pushing open the door.

“Yup.” I sound like I’m about ready to croak, and Braxton’s deep, rumbling chuckle worsens my rattled nerves. He kissed me!

I raise my hand to my mouth and as my fingertips press my lips, they’re taken away, gripped in Braxton’s warm hold. He smiles down at me knowingly and I force my attention on Pam.

She pulls the internal monitor out of the drawer, along with a bottle of lubricant and a condom, and Braxton’s grip on my hand turns almost bone-crushing.

“Is that—”

“Yup.” I cut him off.

“Um.”

“Now you see why I wanted the external one,” I mutter quietly.

I can’t look at him. My cheeks are on fire, and for some absolutely insane reason, other parts of my body are warming and this should not be happening at my midwife’s office.

“So,” Pam says, turning around and back to business. Except it’s hard to take her seriously as she waves what looks like a massive vibrator in her hand. “We’re going to insert this inside of you.”

“Holy shit,” Braxton mutters. And God, kill me. Please kill me now.

If Pam hears him, she ignores him as she steps toward me, and pulls out a set of stirrups from beneath the table. “I’m going to need you to lie down, Cara, and spread your legs, and slip down to the edge of the bed for me.”

“I feel like I’ve heard this before,” I say, unable to stop myself. My filter has evaporated along with my self-respect and all of this is so absolutely humiliating.

Pam pauses, glances at me and then at Braxton and nods, understanding. But I swear, as her gaze sweeps down Braxton’s arms, even she blushes. Which is great . . . my midwife thinks my non-boyfriend baby daddy is hot.

“I feel like I’ve said this before,” Braxton says, and both of our eyes whip to him. My gracious. He’s smiling, shoulders shaking like he’s holding back the world’s most boisterous laugh, and it’s all I can do to not kill him while he’s standing there, glancing between the monitor-slash-vibrator and my spread legs and I can’t hold it in anymore.

“This is embarrassing.”

Pam is back to business, already spreading the condom over the phallic-shaped instrument, and then she drizzles on the lubricant.

Braxton’s breath brushes over my cheeks. His dark locks tickle my temple as he whispers, “I feel like I should be offering to help with this.”

“Shut up,” I grit, my stomach muscles clenching from trying not to die or laugh. “This isn’t funny.”

“Oh. This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen, I’m not going to lie.”

My fingers squeeze his hand and Pam is in front of me. She holds a small black box in her other hand and the tip of the wand against my center. “I’ll go slow, and it might be cold, okay?”

“Yup.”

“Sweet Jesus,” Braxton whispers. “I don’t know whether to be terrified or turned on right now, Cara.”

About MOORE THAN A FEELING (7/27/18):

"Holly and Aiden broke up? Seriously? No way. Not those two."

Dumped.
No, not only dumped.
Blindsided and dumped.

I thought that Aiden McManus was my forever, my soulmate,
That was until he told me he was still in love with his ex.

I didn't want to believe him.
So, I convinced myself that our break-up was because of his upcoming deployment,
and not because he didn't love me.
Believing that, helped me get through those first months.

But after a while, I realized I just might be lying to myself.
And it was time to move on...

So, I moved on. Or tried to move on, anyway.
But that didn’t work out so well for me, either.
And it practically got me disowned from my family.

After that, I finally started to get my life back together,
I had everything back under control…
…Or so I thought.

Until I found out Aiden was back

And now he’s everywhere I turn,
Still pushing me away,
telling me he doesn’t want me.

But every time he calls me Angel or reaches out to touch my cheek,
I know what he's not admitting to himself –
He still loves me.

And I'm going to prove it to him.
