I loved the first book in this series and could not wait for Dirty Secret.  I have read most of Brenda Rothert’s book but this series is the first for me by Chelle Bliss.  Together these two authors make a great team. 

We met Kennedy in the first book.  Her father is a congressman who had an affair with her mother and because of his marital and political status, Kennedy became the secret love child that the world did not know about, until recently that is.  Kennedy is not working for Greenlight, an intellegience agency.  She has always been good at hiding who she really is so this job and her next case should be easy, until she meets one of her targets, Phoenix Ash. 

Nix is a well known hacker who is very good at what he does, it is all that he knows.  he grew up in this world with a father who basically taught him everything he knows.  When he meets Kennedy there is something different about her.  But Nix needs to be careful because you can never trust anyone especially when you are a hacker.  He knows that she is hiding something but he has yet to figure it out. 

Kennedy and Nix both have their secrets, they are both very careful in hiding those secrets as well.  They are both playing a very dangerous game.  It is Kennedy’s job to take him down. And it is his mission to find out who she really is and what she is hiding.  what neither one of them planned on was the feeling that they have when they are with each other.  At times the lines seem so blurred and I think not even them know if what they have is real or all part of the game.  It’s a dangerous one and in the end someone will get hurt, the question is who will that be?

I really loved the chemistry between the two of them.  Despite what he did Nix was a really good guy who has a heart, and you see a few examples of that.  I loved that he seemed to have it all under control but at the same time his feelings getting in the way.  But I loved that part of him that cared about Kennedy and wanted her.  Nix was hot and sexy and sweet all in one.

Kennedy is one of those kick ass heroine’s who takes no crap from anyone.  Based on her line of work she has to be like that.  But I loved watching her fall for Nix and be so conflicted with her feelings for him.  He should have been completely of limits but at the same time she will do anything to get the bad guy.  Or did she just need to tell herself that?

I really enjoyed this book, it had great drama, a hot and sexy hero who could make you melt and a little bit of suspense.  I loved the connection between the characters and there were some hot scenes as well.  Another great job but these two amazing authors.

“My boss stepped into my car in a bathrobe.”

How many of us can say that about our jobs?  Kate is having a great start to her new job as a creative designer of an independent lingerie company, and add to that the bonus of her sexy-as-all-get-out boss sitting commando in her passenger seat with only a terry cloth robe separating him and the seat.  Oops…too bad Kate is engaged; otherwise she could probably do a little hanky panky on the side.  Oops…again too bad that her boss strictly enforces the no fraternization policy in his company.  A lesson he has learned the hard way (I seriously didn’t even mean that as a pun.)

Who is this sexy boss?  His name is Trey Marks.  He started his own lingerie company years ago but has come across dire times.  He is hoping that Kate can save his company with fresh ideas.  At the beginning, he did not care for her ideas what with the firing of several of his long-time employees, but he began to see her reasoning.  In fact, Trey eventually relies on Kate for more than business – she becomes his best friend.

Kate and Trey have a friendship that is truly one in a million.   They have so many good times, late nights, drunk conversations, and extremely comfortable with one another.  There’s also the added bonus of HOT CHEMISTRY between them.  Holy smokes.  They could light up wet kindle with the sexual tension flowing between them.

The man is a complete tease.  He flirts like a teenage boy, then walks away and leaves me panting.

Oh, but there’s one little issue between them – keeping each other from crossing the line…Kate’s fiancée.  That still doesn’t stop Trey from imagining the impossible.

“There’s not anything on Earth I want as badly as you.  I’d love to know if the chemistry that we have…if it could be how I imagine it.”

And here’s the thing with Trey and Kate…They are such good friends, he could say that to her and the next day they would be back to being best friends…as if a bomb had not been dropped on them.  But there’s more wreckage to salvage because believe it or not, not everything is perfect in Trey and Kate’s world.  There’s that little thing about an engagement looming between them and also a secret that Trey has kept hidden from Kate.  

I’ve lost her.  I can see it in her eyes, in the tremble of her voice, in the questions that she asks.  Maybe I should have lied.  Maybe I should have muted the truth.  Maybe then, she wouldn’t be looking at me as if I am a monster…

Remember those signs we used to see in stores…”If you break it, you buy it.”  With all the money that Kate has made Trey, it’s possible there isn’t enough money in the world to fix the broken trust.  Trey is going to have his work cut out for him.  

I loved this story.  I love stories involving mature adults – Trey being 38 fills this quota.  I also love stories that span a good time frame; I am not a fan of insta-love.  This was a fun romantic comedy with so much hotness being emitted from the pages.  They weren’t even together having sex and I was fanning myself.  Their sexual chemistry was sky high!  So many times I feel sexual attraction is forced between characters.  This was not forced.  I found this to be a fun, easy read with plenty of laugh out loud moments.  This was a light read still packed with plenty of drama.

Paige is twenty eight and single. She works as the HR Manager for a small non-profit. Life is good, but it could be better. She misses not having a man in her life, or at least one important part of one. Her best friend Allie asks if her brother Cannon can come and stay with her for a little while. It seems he had a problem with his apartment and he needs to crash for a couple of months until he decides where he is going for his residency. He's in his last year of med school so it won't be for long. Paige has fond memories of Allie's geeky younger brother, but Paige is less than thrilled to share her small space with him. That is until she gets a look at how the little brother is all grown up! 

I want to climb him like the jungle gyms we used to enjoy.

Cannon apartment was trashed by yet another psycho nut job that he slept with-four times in the last six months he's had his place vandalized. Now the landlord is throwing him out. He's turning over a new leaf. He needs to make sure he buckles down. 

Cannon Roth was going to be levelheaded, in control and most importantly: celibate. 

 He's spent too much time with women and not enough time as he should focusing on his medical career. Too much is at stake. 

My mother and older sister were counting on me. They were what really mattered, not chasing women.

He doesn't want to explain all the trouble he's had with crazy chicks to Paige. He hasn't seen her in years, but she provided spank bank material for years. 

Her hot as hell, totally off limits BFF who I’d lusted after from the moment I hit puberty. 

He takes one look at her and his vows to cool his act with women are blown apart. 

I hadn’t seen Paige in years, and fuck if she hadn’t grown up into a beautiful woman. 

Cannon might be younger than Paige, but he's no kid. He's serious about becoming a doctor.

He might be young, twenty four years to my twenty eight, but his eyes spoke of wisdom and maturity. 

Once the work out the living arrangements, they both are comfortable enough to start getting into some personal things. Cannon tells Paige a little about how women fall for him-Over and Over again.  

“Is your dick cursed with black magic or something?”

He shrugged, dragging his eyes up to meet mine.” No, just eight inches long. I also have wicked stamina…and an advanced understanding of female anatomy.

Gulps… 

Paige is up for any challenge. She's not going to be one of these air heads, falling in love with Cannon after having sex. It's game on!

With trembling fingers, she produced an unopened box of condoms. “Those won’t fit princess. I’ll be right back.”

Just kill me now..

The Room Mate is funny and sexy and the pages flow so well I read it in one sitting. I love a book that takes you away!
