Interview: Jack and Dean Carter from The Perfect Game

"I can't believe we are in New York City and that we're interviewing Jack F'n Carter and Dean!" "There they are!" "OMG, I think I need to go change my panties!" Lisa says, "Jen and Kristie get yourselves together you two are acting likes fools and they haven't even sat down yet!" Kristie whispers to Jen, "Since Jack is taken, I have dibbs on Dean!" Jen rolls her eyes and giggles.. "Shhh, they're here. Get your game faces on ladies."  We stand. "It is so great to meet you both, Lisa says. "Thank you so much for doing this interview with us." (Kristie and Jen are excessively nodding their heads in agreement).
Gentlemen, please have a seat.. Let's begin..

Three Chicks:  Dean, what was going through your head when Jack had broken it off with Cassie and told you he was marrying Chrystle? I bet you wish he had taken you up on your offer of "we can still leave".

Dean:  HA! What was honestly going through my head was that my brother was making the biggest mistake of his life and there was nothing I could do to talk him out of it. It was awful.

Three Chicks:  Jack, when you thought Chrystle (otherwise known as the lyingtrailertrashstreetwalkingfakerbitch) had miscarried, why were you still going to take her with you when you found out you got traded up?

Jack:  The guilt I felt in that moment is indescribable. I knew I'd look like a complete dick if I ditched her the minute she miscarried. I guess my immediate plans were to bring her with me and then I'd break it all off. I don't know. I wasn't thinking clearly.

Three Chicks:  Dean, were you keeping tabs on Cassie for Jack when he was getting his annulment?

Dean:  Yeah. *looks at Jack* Definitely.

Three Chicks:  Jack, you've explained (in other interviews) why you felt you had to marry Chrystle. But her engagement ring, really Jack, why buy her a rock?? (Lisa shouts "You should have just gone to the effin vending machine at the grocery store and spent a quarter on that bitch's ring! *Jen and Kristie's eyes pop open wide* Shit, I'm so sorry, it just upsets me.)

Jack:  I don't think I ever talked about the ring I got for Chrystle, did I? I didn't buy Chrystle that ring. It was her grandmother's and it looked enormous because she was so petite. The only girl I bought a rock for was Cass. I Promise."

Three Chicks:  Jack, was it just the one time with Chrystle, or did you have sex with her after the drunken sloppy sex night that you don't remember?

Jack:  I'll only say that I did my best to avoid her, played tired, made up a lot of excuses as to why I couldn't have sex with her that night.

Three Chicks:  Dean, you urged Jack to divorce Chrystle after her supposed miscarriage. How's it feel to be the smart one in the family?

Dean:  HA! You hear that? *punches Jack in the shoulder* I always knew I was the smarter one. Jack's just emotional. He doesn't always think before he acts. I always think before I do anything.

Three Chicks:  Jack, what does the phrase "prove it" mean to you?

Jack:  Oh Jesus. My favorite sentence. HA! It means that it's time to get my shit together and put my money where my mouth is. It's about making my actions line up with my words. If I mean the things I say to her, now is the time to prove it.

Three Chicks:  Jack, do you still see Joey, the guy from Cassie's office as a threat?

Jack:  No way. I hate that Kitten works with someone who wants her, but I can't control that. But if he ever touches her, I'll fucking break his hand.

Three Chicks:  Dean, is there anything developing between you and Melissa?

Dean:  If I can help it, hell yes there is. But not if you ask her.

Three Chicks:  Jack, what were you thinking when you heard Cassie's voice at your game in New York and saw her with Joey?

Jack:  I almost lost my shit completely. I'd never been so rattled on the mound before. That girl can fucking wreck me.

Three Chicks:  Jack, the gifts to Cassie were so swoon worthy (Jen and Kristie sigh and smile like love sick fools at Jack)-the quarters, Cassie's rules, her photographs and telling her that "It's not that I can't live without you; it's that I don't want to." How did you come up with that?

Jack:  *takes a deep breath* You ladies are making me turn into a pussy right now, you know that right? I just sat down and thought about how I felt about her. Losing her the way I did gave me a whole new perspective on my feelings when it came to her. I knew I "could" live without her, but I didn't want too.

Three Chicks:  Dean, how did your grandparents handle all of the chaos?

Dean:  They hated it. They were so concerned for Jack and Cassie. Both of them knew that Cassie was special and it's hard to watch someone you love screw up over and over again. I think Gran wished everything was different and she wished she could fix it all. She's much happier now.

Three Chicks:  Dean, what are your plans for the future?

Dean:  I'm going to finish school and hopefully Jack's agents will let me intern with them. I think I want to become a sports agent. I learned a lot about the business watching Jack go through it and I think I'd be really good at it. Plus, I'm the smart one, remember?

Jack: After you left Chrystle, Cassie told you to "prove it" to her. Why did it take you so long and what were you doing all that time? Did it ever cross your mind that she wouldn't wait for you and move on?

Jack:  I'm legally not allowed to talk about what happened during those 6 months right now. Sorry. But yes, I worried every fucking day that I'd lose her. That's why Dean and Melissa kept tabs on her for me.

Three Chicks:  Dean, what is it like being Jack's little brother? Given his reputation, is it harder for you to meet someone because they think you are like your brother?

Dean:  No. It's more that girls want to meet me to get to Jack. They don't care about his reputation, obviously. For whatever reason, girls are drawn to his repulsiveness. It's fucking irritating. It's hard to know if a girl really likes me for me, or because she thinks I'm her "in" to Jack.

Three Chicks:  Dean, do women ever use you to try and get to your brother?

Dean:  All the time.

Three Chicks:  Jack, how are things going with you and Cassie? Are the wedding plans coming along ok?

Jack:  Things are good now. Things were touch and go there for awhile.

Three Chicks:  Dean, since your brother's indiscretion, have you noticed a change in him?

Dean:  It's hard to say because I'm not really around him much anymore. But when I talk to him, I can hear it in his voice that things are different. He's determined to not let anything come between him and Cass again.

Three Chicks:  Jack, The temptations on the road are always going to be there. Face it, you are the Rock Star of Baseball, there are groupies, some very attractive and determined groupies. How are you handling that? How is Cassie handling it?

Jack:  It's a work in progress on both fronts.

Three Chicks:  Dean, did you ever come close to breaking down and filling Cassie in with what Jack was really doing? Did it bother you having to watch her suffer?

Dean:  Melissa had a harder time with it than I did. I ended up not talking to her as much as Meli did. It was weird for me to be the one keeping in contact all the time, she would have seen through it. But having Melissa talk to her daily- that's normal, ya know? But I hate anything where either one of them is hurting.

Ok now for a little fun..

Three Chicks:  Jack, any special talents (aside from the obvious) that you can do?

Jack:  Is this an R-rated blog?

Three Chicks:  Dean, same question.

Dean:  I can surf. Is that a talent? HA!

Three Chicks:  Favorite Food?

Jack:  Anything Gran makes

Dean: Agreed

Three Chicks:  Favorite Song?

Jack:  The Mighty Storm's new one. I love me some Jake Wethers.

Dean: Dude? Really? Those two *shakes head* Um, Melissa and Cassie turned me onto Imagine Dragons so I'm sort of obsessed with that whole album right now.

Jack: Pussy

Dean: Shutup

Three Chicks and Their Books would like to thank you so for stopping by today. We had a great time and maybe one day in the future you and Cassie will come back to chat with us? Dean this goes for you too!

Jack: Check in with the woman and she'll make it happen.

"That was great, can we get a cab and finish sightseeing now? I want to check out Times Square,"  Kristie asks. Jen and Lisa nod in agreement.

  1. Great Interview. Thank you for asking all the hard hitting questions. I wanted to know about that ring and I agree with the reference to that skank, aka lyingtrailertrashstreetwalkingfakerbitch.
