When she left it destroyed him.

Tabitha knew coming home was a mistake, but family obligation demanded it. She wasn’t expecting to run smack into the love of her life the same day she returned.Despite the danger, Tabitha is powerless against the wild rush of desire that explodes between them the moment she finds herself in Wyatt’s arms again. She needs a second chance too, but she can't risk Wyatt finally discovering the real reason she left.

Even for another taste of true love.

Tabitha knows her haunted past will destroy both of them if Wyatt finds out. What she suffered through was too terrible and it's the one thing that will have him crossing the line for revenge.

4.5 star review by Jen Skewes

This is the 3rd installment of the Battered Hearts Series by Kele Moon.  I loved the first two and could not wait for Wyatt's story.  Through the first two books we see a bit of Wyatt and you get a sense of the broken man that he is from being left by his one true love all those years ago.  I could not wait to just dive in and see what happened between Wyatt and Tabby.  I needed to know what happened between them, why she left and most importantly, would they get their happily ever after?

Wyatt has been in love with Tabitha since kindergarten.  So when she left him 13 years ago without even an explanation as to why, his heart was completely shattered.  He has never been able to get over the loss of the only woman he has ever loved.  They were in love, planning their future together, so he never really understood why she left him.  When he finally sees her again after 13 years, he knows that he should hate her, demand answers, and just walk away. Tabby has always been the love of his life and when he sees her again, he can't help but want to touch her, kiss her, hold her, even if only for that one moment. How do you walk away from the only woman you have ever loved, and still love?

Tabitha is back after 13 years due to family issues.  And she knows that her time here is temporary but she agrees to make the most of the time she has there with Wyatt.  The truth is that after 13 years apart they both love each other just as much as they did all those years ago.  The never forgot each other and never let each other go.  They still owned each others hearts and now they have a second chance to be together.  They agree to take the time for what it is and to keep all the demons from their past in the closet.  But that's easier said than done.  Tabby left 13 years ago for a reason.  She is afraid of what will happen if she tells Wyatt the truth.  How far will one go to protect the person they love?  She is afraid of Wyatt crossing that line again to protect her.  Will these two finally get their happily ever after that they both so deserved?

Tabitha and Wyatt met when they were kids.  What I absolutley loved about this story is how Kele Moon takes us back in time to when they first met.  Back to when they first formed a friendship, when they fell in love, their first sexual experience together.  She captured all of the important moments between these two characters, even if they weren't all good ones.   But while Crossing the Line is their story it wasn't all about just them.    We see how Clay and Wyatt became the best friends that they are today.  We see Jules and Wyatt as young kids, fighting as twins do but also protecting and taking care of each other. We see how Wyatt became the man that he is today.

Tabitha and Wyatt come from two completely different worlds.  Tabitha and Clay were friends first and understood each other even at a young age.  They both grew up poor and I mean really dirt poor with mothers who could care less about them and more about their drugs or alcohol. Tabitha's home life will completely break your heart when you see what she went through growing up.  Clay had always been there to protect her.  And then one day a little boy named Wyatt Conner offered her his cookies and from that moment on it was if they were meant to be together. Wyatt Conner would forever be her soul mate, protector and hero from that moment on.

Wyatt was an amazing character and one I fell in love with all over again.  From the moment he met Tabby he wanted to protect her.  He knew she was the one no matter how old he was.  He has a huge heart, is strong, protective, loving, caring and completely understanding.  Tabby was his soul mate and no matter how long it had been since he had seen her that never changed.  They had a love that most people wish they had.  A love that could never be forgotten.  Tabby's story is such a heart breaking one.  Especially to see a child as young as she was endure the pain and hurt that she did growing up.  But we also get to see the strong, independant woman that she became.

I love Kele moon's writing and have always been a big fan of hers.  She writes such amazing characters that you fall in love with.  She knows how to bring out all the emotions in her readers.  She explores deep issues and does so in a way that makes them real, powerful, emotional and intense.  Crossing the Line is a heart wrenching story about love, second chances, and family.  There are moments that break your heart, make you cry, angry and frustrated.  But it will also warm your heart on so many levels.  It is a story of two people from opposite sides of the tracks getting a second chance at love and happiness.  While their road to happiness was one that was filled with a lot of obstacles along the way, it is one that will leave you smiling in the end.   I cannot express how much I loved this book. I have been waiting a long time for Wyatt and Tabitha's story but can assure you that it was worth the wait.  Another amazing job by Ms. Moon.

Q and A with Kele Moon

Do you have a favorite male character from your books or one that is more special to you than the others?

Hrm. . . Probably Nova from the Battered Hearts/Untamed Hearts series

Is there one genre that you enjoy writing more or is easier to write?
Male friendships are always very fun and easy for me to write!

Which female character do you feel you relate to the most?
Eve from Beyond Eden

Can you tell us of any challenges that you faced while either writing Crossing the Line or writing in general?

Crossing the Line was a very difficult book to write. Not only technically but emotionally as well. It’s not only the end of the series, but it’s also a very heart wrenching story. There’s a reason it took me over a year to write but I am very proud of how it all turned out. For a long time I wasn’t sure I would be able to pull it off! I’m still shocked at how great it all came together!
What do you like to do when not writing?

Hang out with my family!

When did you decide that you wanted to become a writer and who was your inspiration?

I’ve wanted to write romance novels since I was a teenager. There wasn’t any one author who inspired me. It was the whole genre that always spoke to my soul! It was always my highest goal, my biggest dream for myself and I still have days where I can’t believe it’s actually become a reality.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a writer?

Write. Write. Write. Writers have to write. You have to stick with it. I don’t think people realize what a difficult job it is until they get into it. It’s a very harsh, critical environment. The nature of being any kind of artist means you put yourself out there. You bare your soul and there’s always going to be someone who doesn’t like your work, but you have to keep picking yourself up and writing again and again and again. Don’t stop. Don’t let anyone take your dreams from you. All writers have to fight to have our voices heard and our stories shared with the world. It’s not easy, but it so very worth it!

What can we look forward to in the future from you?

I’m working on a new series that was born out of the Battered Heart universe. Chuito, Tino and Nova from Battered Hearts will have their own set of books in a series called Untamed Hearts. It’s a younger, wilder, darker series. Each of the heroes are criminals in one way or the other. They needed their own series and I am so excited to write it. I love each of them! I think it’ll be very sexy! I’m so excited about it!I also have more books in the Age of Alphas series planned for next year and I’m really excited about those projects as well!

Author Bio:

A freckle faced, redhead born and raised in Hawaii, Kele Moon has always been a bit of a sore thumb and has come to enjoy the novelty of it. She thrives off pushing the envelope and finding ways to make the impossible work in her story telling. With a mad passion for romance, she adores the art of falling in love. The only rules she believes in is that, in love there are no rules and true love knows no bounds.

So obsessed is she with the beauty of romance and the novelty of creating it she’s lost in her own wonder world most of the time. Thankfully she married her own dark, handsome, brooding hero who had infinite patience for her airy ways and attempts to keep her grounded.

When she leaves her keys in the refrigerator or her cell phone in the oven he’s usually there to save her from herself. The two of them now reside in Florida with their three beautiful children who make their lives both fun and challenging in equal parts–They wouldn’t have it any other way.
