The perfect marriage.

Their worlds collide.
Fate intervenes twelve years later and their paths intersect once again. All three will question whether the heart is truly capable of dividing and being divided; each will decide whether it matters who you loved first or who you love last.
Together they will learn that in the end, there can always only be one.

Isabel, Alex and Jesse.. These characters will stick with me forever..
My head was spinning from the start of the prologue. The love and emotions from this story had my heart screaming..
I loved how this story reflected back on quotes and scenes in the first book making this story even stronger and more powerful.
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book!!
When The Light in The Wound Ended, Alex and Isabel were moving back from the States to take over
Isabel’s mothers company and Jesse was part in the signing. Jesse made it clear to Isabel that the success he built he did that for her. Isabel made it clear to Jesse that she was
not longer his, her heart belonged to Alex.
Alex would do anything to keep Jesse out of Isabel ‘s life including moving to the States to put the distance between them, but what happens when they move home and the three are
forced into the same social circle?
*“I’m over it, you need to get over it. We can’t break down at public events like that.” Her voice is stern and authoritative.*
*I like it. I’m embarrassed that this happened, but then again, Cain is my kryptonite. Everybody has one.*
*Who am I?*
*As I struggle to accept my fate, these are the things I
know”*
*I am a mother and a sister*
*I am no longer a wife*
*I am someone else’s lover*
*He took away my heart and the life we made together. I will never recover. This time, these wounds will never heal.*
OR WILL THEY????*
Jesse Cain has moved on and is now engaged to a lovely woman, Rose. For the first time since losing Isabel, Jesse is finally ready to move on until tragedy happens and puts Isabel back into his life. Jesse is torn between moving forward with Rose or will he choose to step back into his past and try for another chance with only girl he truly loved?
"As in love and business, I’m about to take a gamble. I hope it gives me the peace that I am looking for once and for all.”
The Epilogues were amazing!!!

Beyond FIVE STARS for this sequel! Christine Brae truly blew me away with this story.

After twelve years of marriage Isabel and Alex thought nothing could tear them apart. These two lovers could get thru anything.. or so they thought.. Alex still worries about Isabel’s
true feeling for Jesse.*“I’m over it, you need to get over it. We can’t break down at public events like that.” Her voice is stern and authoritative.*

Isabel has done everything to reassure Alex that he is the only one in her heart and there is no room for another man. When tragedy strikes and Isabel finds herself struggling and
alone, her world is thrown upside down.

I never expected the twists and changes in this series. Life has many challenges for Isabel, Alex, Jesse and their families the challenges arise.
“Nothing you can do can change the direction of your destiny. You can influence your future by revising your goals and adjusting your purpose, but you can’t change what is meant to be. We are powerless to fight it; all we do is sustain it. We live for the moments of joy that are both fleeting and irretrievable.”
This journey was well worth the fight!! Old Characters and new characters, I loved them all!!
The Epilogues were amazing!!!
“Good evening, everyone. So sorry we're late.”
I turn my head in the direction of her eyes.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I mutter under my
breath.
It's Jesse Cain. I glare at Betty, and she
responds by shrugging her shoulders. I remember that she said she no longer
bothers with the seating arrangements.
I’m left with no choice but to get up from my chair and shake his hand.
“Cain, how are you?” I ask rather
hypocritically. I can’t even stand to be in the same country as him, let alone
share a table with this guy. One at which he sits so close to my wife, no less.
“Ailey,” he says coolly. “This is my fiancĂ©e,
Rose.”
I offer my hand to her and she shakes it
warmly. She's very pretty, almost beautiful, but certainly not Isabel stunning,
at least to me. She’s quite voluptuous
and her dress leaves little to the imagination. I guess she has to compete for
his attention, given that he is one of the most eligible bachelors in the
country. He’s clearly a crowd drawer at fundraising events like these. I’ll never know why, since he’s such an
arrogant ass. Cain pulls her seat out for her and remains standing. Sure
enough, he walks over to Betty and Isa.
“Betts.” He gives her a hug and offers his hand
to Leigh, who shakes it disinterestedly.
Okay, here it comes.
Wait. No. She’s getting up. Why is she getting up?
He leans down to give her a hug. “Hi, Isa. Nice
to see you.”
She embraces him a little too warmly. The smile
on her face as she says his name slays me. “Hi, Jess.”
Jess?
As soon as Cain takes a seat next to me, I lean
over and whisper in her ear. “It's Jess-e. There's an E at the end.”
She responds by taking my hand, slipping it
through the slit of her dress and resting it on her thigh. If I stretch my finger out far enough, I’ll
be able to touch that part of her that might get her attention. Out of the
blue, I have the urge to take the napkin on her lap and tie it around her neck
to cover up her chest. Sort of like a bib in a seafood restaurant.
“He looks at you all googly-eyed like that one
more time and I'm going to poke his fucking eyes out,” I whisper, punctuating
my words with light squeezes of her thigh.
She thinks I'm kidding so she laughs.
