4.5 star review by Jen Skewes

Let me just start by saying that this is my first biker book.  For some reason when it came to reading a biker book I become a bit of a wuss.  Wish I could even explain why but I can't.  When I first read the synopsis for Renegade Lady I was completely intrigued.   It sounded so good that I figured hey it's a new year why not.  So I stepped out of my comfort zone.  And boy am I glad that I did.  I loved this book.  I loved the angst and the drama.  It was gritty and raw and sometimes intense.  But I loved every minute of it.

The beginning of this book is heart wrenching and raw.  This is where we first meet Jenna.  A 16 year girl who after losing her mother goes to live with her father.  Now she was never a big fan of her father and the years she did spend with him ruined her.  But she chose to go live with him, but never expected what came next.  Her father is in a MC and willingly gave his daughter over to Timmons, one of the other members.  To claim her as his old lady, allowing him to do whatever he wanted with her.  Honestly that fact that her father just willingly gave her over to this man is horrible enough, until you see what Timmons has for planned for her, which was in a word horrific.

Chipper is sent to check on her father's club and what he finds is way beyond anything that he ever expected.  He rescues Jenna and takes her back home to his club.  Chipper and his wife Mindy take her in and treat her like the daughter that they never had but always wanted.  But Chipper isn't the only who who is taken by Jenna.  His brother Kidd knows from the moment that she walks in the club with him that she is something special.  But she is only 16 and he is 10 years older than her.  He knows that when it comes to Jenna that they can be nothing more than friends, at least for now.

Jenna has fallen for Kidd but knows that he doesn't see her as anything more than a sister, or at least that is what she thinks.  When Jenna turns 18 he has every intention of making Jenna his, until he screws up royally.  Not going to say how but will tell you that Kidd screwed up in such a way that I myself wanted to punch him.  I never doubted his love for her but some of the decisions he made when it came to Jenna and his love life frustrated me to no end.  His mistake cost him any chance of being with Jenna and at the same time cost him his friendship.   It's 6 years later and Jenna and Kidd are no longer on speaking terms.  But when things start spiraling out of control for Jenna, Kidd finally  steps in and does what he wanted to do years ago.  He claims her as his.  But Jenna has a choice, to be Kidd's old lady or leave the club.  She loves Kidd and always has but Jenna has never wanted to be anyone's old lady.  Plus not to mention the fact that she is still pissed at Kidd for the way her treated her and the last thing she wants to is to be his.  Will she choose to leave the one place that has felt like home or will she give in to Kidd?

I loved this book and all of the drama and angst that went along with it.  I had a love/hate relationship with Kidd in the beginning of this book.  I loved him and how sweet he was with Jenna and you could see how much he loved her and cared for her.  I know that until she was of age Kidd couldn't be with her and I also understood that he wasn't going to put his life on hold until she turned 18.  But it didn't stop me from feeling bad for Jenna having to watch the man she loves, well be a man.  There were moments where I just wanted to scream at him for the decisions he made.  But as time goes on and you understand why he made some of those decisions and how sorry he was for hurting Jenna you honestly get to see a little more of Kidd.  He is a bad boy biker but underneath the tough guy exterior is a guy with a heart.  A heart that has belonged to Jenna since he first laid eyes on her.  I fell in love with Kidd and found myself rooting for him and Jenna from the start.

I loved Jenna and to be honest I felt bad for her is so many ways.  For one what she went through with Timmons was enough to break any woman, let alone a 16 year old girl.  When we first met her she is a scared innocent girl.  But over the years she becomes this very strong and independent woman.  She is one tough cookie that doesn't take shit from anyone.  And I loved watching the transformation.

Kidd and Jenna were meant to be.  Renegade Lady is in alternating point of views so you truly get to see just how much they loved each other even when they weren't together.  When she was 16 their relationship was cute and one that just made you smile.  When things became ugly for them you felt the hurt and the pain that both went through.  Even in the time that they were apart I felt it.  I wanted nothing more than for them to work it our and be together.  Deep down Kidd was a great guy and he proved that many times.  Jenna's heart always belonged to Kidd but she was just afraid of handing it over to him again.  Will they find their happily ever after with each other?

Fantastic job by Emily Minton and Dawn Martens.  Looking forward to more in this series.
