Review and Giveaway: The Dark Light of Day by T.M. Frazier

Warning: This is not your typical romance. The story of Abby & Jake contains disturbing situations, graphic violence, sex, rape, strong language, drug use, and all types of abuse.

Abby has been through hell and has survived one of the most brutal childhoods imaginable…barely.

To the outside world she's just a loner with an attitude.

When her grandmother dies in a tragic explosion, Abby is left with questions-and nothing else.

Homeless, sleeping in a junkyard, and on the run from a system that has failed her over and over again, she meets Jake, a tattooed blue-eyed biker with secrets that will rival her own.

Two broken souls that can't be healed. They can't be saved.

Abby & Jake must reveal to one another their most guarded secrets and discover if they can embrace the darkness those secrets hold-and the darkness within themselves.

If they can accept one another for who they really are, they might be able to learn that love isn’t always found in the light.

*stand alone novel, HEA in a twisted kind of way, no cliffhangers, no sequel.

5 Beautifully Damaged Stars!

Review by Nicole Lorenzo

Abby Ford has had the kind of upbringing that nightmares are made of. At just seventeen she has seen her share of abuse, neglect and foster homes, but for the past four years she has had the stability of her Nan. When her Nan took her in was the first loving home she had been in and for a brief moment, Abby thought that just maybe her past didn’t have to define her. On the day of her high school graduation Abby again faces tragedy when her Nan is killed in a horrible accident. Instead of celebrating her achievement, Abby finds herself homeless, alone and mourning the one person who ever cared for and loved her.

"Hope had been stripped from me at every minute of every hour of every day for my entire life."

Jake Dunn has a dark past and an abundant amount of secrets of his own. He’s deadly and twisted, not caring about anyone but himself. He travels on his motorcycle making his dangerous living and never staying in one place too long. When Jake comes home to take care of his family business he plans to be done quickly and then be on his way. But then he finds Abby sleeping in a truck in his junkyard. Abby is a feisty red head with a smart mouth and an aversion to touch and somehow she gets under his skin and Jake finds himself wanting to protect her.

"We're all a little damaged Bee. Some of us more than others."

Jake secures Abby with a place to stay, a job and she honestly starts to trust him. Abby and Jake start to open up to one another, sharing their darkest secrets, stripping away the fear little by little. They fall in love. Something neither of them knew they were capable of.

"I was in love with the angel and in lust with the devil. If I were honest with myself, I’d have to say that I was in love with the devil, too."

They are two damaged souls with tragic pasts, but they understand each other, and need each other. They start to plan a future together. To go somewhere new, start over and have a life they both don’t have to hide from.

"I want to help you. I want to hold you. I want to make it all okay for you. I want to f*cking touch you because you are the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen, and I can’t imagine never being able to hold your hand or kiss you."

But then tragedy strikes yet again and now everything has changed. Not everything or everyone is what they seemed to originally be. When the darkness creeps back into Abby and Jakes lives’ will they find themselves together in the light?

"I loved all of him, the good and the bad, the light and the dark."

I LOVED this book. It’s a beautiful, dark, twisted love story about two broken souls and I was sucked in from the very first page. Abby was sent to hell and back, I can’t imagine having the life she had and being able to have the will to wake up every morning. She wasn’t your normal damsel in distress, she was mouthy and bitchy and a fighter. Jake broke down her walls and when she let herself fall in love with him it was all or nothing.

Jake should be the guy that when you come across him you run for your life, but despite his sick and twisted ways I found myself absolutely loving him. Don’t get me wrong there were times I hated him too, but the blue eyed, leather wearing, gun slinging Jake won me over with the way he loved Abby with such ferocity.

There is so much I want to say about this book but I’m holding back so I don’t ruin it. This isn’t your everyday love story. It’s very dark, horrific even at times but it’s still a love story. A beautiful, crazy, damaged love story about two broken people who are meant to be together and fight for their happily ever after. The epilogue was awesome, I loved it! I loved the whole thing! What are you waiting for? Go read it now!!!

"We were just us, broken and bruised, f*cked-up and messy, and together we were everything we never thought we could be."
