4.5 Star Review by Lisa Kane

I Loved this book! This is book one of a three part series. From the first page of the prologue I was sucked into this story. Stella Bleu Lawrence was 7 when her mother was murdered. She paints a vivid picture as she tells how she and her mom were baking chocolate cookies when someone rings their doorbell. Her mom checks the peephole, and tells Bleubird (her nickname for Stella) to go to her room and hide under her bed. They are going to play a game. She's to stay in her room, along with her dog Max and no matter what she hears, she's to stat put. Stella hears a loud bang. She smells the cookies burning, and the dog is scratching the door to get out. She wants to get out from under the bed, and let the dog out to see what is going on. But before she can, her door opens slowly, she hears a bang and her dog falls down in a puddle of red. She wants to scream but there are shoes coming towards the bed. This man's pants are torn and bloody from Max biting him. The man tells her that he sees her under there. She recognizes his voice, he talks funny and he's the man who comes to see her mom at night. Her mom calls him Thane. She tells the man her mom told her to stay where she is, so she isn't coming out. He tells her that her mom said it's okay to come out. She thinks he's lying. He killed her dog. He yells and grabs her and she covers her head and closes her eyes. She knows bad men hit. He flips her over and presses a pillow to her face until she blacks out.

Eighteen years later this girl is now known as Belu MacAllister. She has trained most of her life for the day she will kill her mother's murderer. She is skilled in Muay Thai for strength and defense, gymnastics for balance and agility. She worked as a police officer and then applied to the FBI academy. She planned on going undercover for a few years and then she would be ready to go after Thane Breckenridge. But that timetable is no longer in place. Harry Macallister rescued that little girl and adopted her. He was once an instructor at Quantico and no one is better able to prepare her for her mission. When she was 12 she sat him down and told him she intended to kill Brecenridge and she has never waivered in her intentions. But Harry is dying of cancer and Bleu wants to kill Breckenridge before Harry dies. So she speeds things up.

Thane has a weakness- his son Sinclair, a 26 year old lawyer in Scotland who takes care of the family business- the organization known as The Fellowship . Their shady, illegal businesses have funneled millions over the years and has earned them the reputation for being ruthless as well as powerful. Bleu decides to go there undercover, use whatever means she has to in order to get close to the son, and then ultimately, the father.

Bleu gets herself a job at the bar owned by The Fellowship and one Sinclair frequents. She catches his eye and the rest of him is pretty captivated by her too. Although the first time she meets him, he is being "entertained" by one of the many women he casually has sex with. Bleu goes into the back room to get something and walks in on them as the girl, Geneen is on her knees. They are blocking her way to getting the bottles she needs to get for the bar. They aren't moving out of the way.

"Look, all the leaves on my give-a fuck tree have fallen. It's been a long day. I've been grabbed and fondled by strange men for the last six hours. Some old geezer slipped his hand up my skirt and I had to smile and kindly encourage him to remove it...instead of breaking his face with my fist. I'm tired. I just want to finish my job so I can go home and have one or a dozen glasses of wine and then pass out. I'm not asking for much. "

The girl gets cocky and Bleu sends a kind message by breaking her nose and messing up her pretty face. Sinclair can't help but be impressed.

Since the book is told in both POV's we get inside both of their heads. Sinclair is all business, he is ruthless, he is a killer and he won't hesitate to take out anyone he perceives to be a threat. He is intrigued by Bleu but he doesn't trust her. She plays hard to get, making him wait for what he wants most, while teasing him that the wait will be more than worth it. He is captivated by his " bonny Bleu" as he calls her.

Bleu reminds herself constantly that Sin, her nickname for him, is the enemy. He is the spawn of the devil himself and she will eliminate him if she has to. Besides the obvious secrets that Bleu hides from him, she is not quite the experienced lover she leads him to believe. He only does hook ups, since he too, has something he hides about himself from everyone except his closest family members. And The Fellowship does not allow its members to date anyone outside of their organization- no exceptions.

Bleu is getting pulled into The Fellowship little by little and every line she has drawn is blurred. They are both risking everything they have to be with each other. Can she really leave Sin behind, is Thane the monster she has always believed?

If I kill Thane, the mission is over and there'll be no reason to stay. My time with Sin will be over-the last grain of sand will fall through our hourglass. I'm suddenly aware of how unprepared I am to walk away from him.

How will this play out? If the truth is revealed can other of them be safe? What a delicious cliff hanger we were left with-I never mind a cliffy when I know right up front that there will be a specific amount of books to a series. It just wets my whistle for more!

I can not wait for the second and third book to release! (February and March respectively) This story is sexy and suspenseful and so addictive!

The Next Sin – Release Date – Feb 9th, 2015

One Last Sin – Release Date – March 23, 2015

Sinclair Breckenridge’s POV:
“What happened to no one touching me?” Bleu asks.
Does that mean she doesn’t want me to touch her?
I release her and straighten to look at her face. “Do you want that to apply to me as well?”
“I want things to be very clear so there’s no misunderstanding between us. I won’t give my body to someone who’d fuck me in a storage room or on a desk in the office of a bar. I want to enjoy the pleasure that goes along with great sex, so I will only sleep with a man who is eager to please me. I must be able to trust that you aren’t in it only for yourself. I’ll demand more of you than any other woman ever has, and for that, I’m completely unapologetic.”
“Allow me to be clear with you. I only do what pleases me and that, Bonny Bleu, is what you can trust.”

I’m still holding her so close, we’re nose to nose. “Then I believe we’ve come to an impasse that will bring neither of us any pleasure.”
