Synopsis
Race car mechanic Andressa “Andi” Amaro has one rule—no dating
drivers. With a good reason behind the rule, she has no plans on breaking it.
Carrick Ryan is the bad boy of Formula One.
With a face and body that melts panties on sight, and an Irish lilt
that leaves women on their knees, begging for more. He
races hard and parties harder. The youngest driver to ever sign with F1, he’s
still at the top of his game five years later, breaking hearts on and off the
tracks.
When Andi is offered her dream job working in the glamorous world of
F1, she leaves her home in Brazil, positive she can handle working for Carrick.
But she’s not prepared for the off-the-chart sparks that fly the moment they
meet.
Now, Andi has a crush on the one man she can’t have, and her resolve
is about to be put to the test, because Carrick has decided he wants Andi, and
he plans on testing her to the very limit…

"Please tell me that you're my birthday present."
When she was a child, Andressa "Andi" Amaro loved to watch her dad, William Wolfe, race. He was the world's best Formula One driver. Her mom was always nervous before each race, but Andi wasn't-she knew her dad could handle whatever was thrown his way. But when Andi was 9, her mother's fears became reality and her father was killed in a fiery crash on the track. Her mom packed her up, they left England, and moved to Brazil, her mother's native country.
Then I hear a bang. It's so loud that it hurts my ears through my headphones. Uncle John stops moving.
He slowly turns with me in his arms.
Every muscle in his body goes rigid.
Fighting free, I look at the screens, and that's when I see it.
My dad's car is gone.
Replaced with flames And smoke.
Ten years later Andi is a top notch auto mechanic. Her dad's best friend, her "Uncle" John is on Carrick Ryan's team. He is the driver to beat on the track and he's a notorious playboy. His picture is always in the news and no one is off limits to him. Whether they are married, taken, an employee-they are fair game.
Andi's Uncle John may not have told the rest of the crew that she is female and not the male mechanic they are expected. Certainly, Carrick's eyes bug out of his head when he first meets her. But in spite of Andi's panties all but pulling themselves off of her to lie in a heap at Carrick's feet, she shuts down any thought of his getting into her pants. All her life she has made it a rule-never get involved with race drivers.
But of course where would the story go if her resolve to stay away from Carrick proved to be stronger than her attraction for him? Carrick is flirtatious and determined to get his way with Andi. She is a brilliant mechanic and he's no fool. He values her on his team. But he also wants her in his bed. And he might just get his wish!
He rumbles out a deep laugh. "Andrea, I stopped because the first time you come, I'm going to be inside you. I want to feel your orgasm, not see it."
First time? There's going to be more than one?
The chemistry between these two could power Carrick's race car!
I start to ride him like I'm a goddamn porn star. Okay, maybe porn star is pushing it, but I'm doing a damn fine job, if I do say so myself, and Carrick seems like he's enjoying it from the words of heated praise he keeps groaning in my ear.
These two ebb and flow like the tide; each has their own reasons for guarding their hearts. Andi had dark fears that are almost a contradiction for a mechanic working the racing circuit. Her father's death on the track has scarred her. Will she be able to overcome her fears? Carrick's father manages his career; he is one of the few people he trusts. For reasons unknown to Andi, Carrick has issues with rejection. (not something he encounters often!) Better not to trust anyone than to give them the opportunity to leave him. In spite of his fears, Andi calms him and keeps him centered. For the first time in his life, a woman may just claim his heart.
But demons don't stay bottled up forever. What happens when both of their worst fears happen? How can they trust in themselves and each other?
"From the moment I met you, Andressa, I thought you were strong, maybe the strongest person I'd ever met, and I admired that about you." He lets out a staggered breath. "But I've come to realize something." He leans in to me, his face close to mine.
I suck in a breath at the absolute blackness in his eyes, feeling it closing in all around me.
"You're not strong. You're a fucking coward. And I'm done."
The racing circuit is a different story line for Samantha Towle, but one I loved. Besides the exotic locations, race drivers have a sexy bad boy aura about them and Carrick certainly didn't disappoint. There were times I wished I had his POV on what was going on in his head, but we do have get a treat in the epilogue.

EXCERPT
“Come
on…just one piece of bacon.”
“No.”
I move my plate toward me, and away from him.
“Aww,
come on, baby. You know you wanna give me some.”
Baby?
I
feel that word wash through me like an erotic cleansing.
Pressing
my thighs and lips together, I shake my head. “Nope. Your smooth Irish charm
won’t work on me.”
Grinning,
he gives me a look straight from the sex devil. “Aww, Andressa. Baby. If you give me some…I’ll make it
worth your while. It can be our little secret. I won’t tell anyone, I promise.”
“How
do you manage to make a conversation about bacon sound dirty?”
“I’d
say it’s a talent…but maybe it’s not me that’s dirty and it’s you. After all,
you are the one interpreting it that way.”
